Redbud Nook was such a pretty place. She didn't believe the nightly whispers about it, at first. Her brothers would come here sometimes, and had a rather irritating habit of talking about it at nap time. But it sounded amazing! They talked about the beautiful pink flowers that blossomed across the many trees. The wonderful weather, the little critters that wandered around the place. It was nearly unbelievable. She's been itching to go see it throughout the whole week.

But unfortunately her mother had her practicing Italian through that whole week. And it was then that she realized that learning Italian was incredibly hard. So many weird words that sounded like noises you made with your mouth. It was strange!

But finally, finally she had found the time to go take a quick peek. "Beautiful," She murmured, minty eyes wide. Dry leaves crackled beneath her paws nosily, but the awe she felt was making the loud sounds transparent to her ears. A weak smile grew upon her inky lips and she skipped forward playfully, tail hovering over her little body.

This place was unlike any shes ever seen. And it was close to home, too! Daddy should have made this place Abaven territory! Not that plain, blunt field of long itchy grass. Serpent Plains, right? Didn't that place have snakes?! She brushed the nasty thought off and continued through the beautiful trees, eyes scanning over the pink flowers.

To tell the truth Archelaus wasn't entirely certain what he was doing here. He and his brothers had been given more freedom by their mothers to explore their new home in Fiori, encouraged in fact to get used to their new surroundings but for some reason he had ventured beyond those borders and into stranger lands still. Perhaps some part of him had been secretly hoping the North was closer than he recalled, that a short walk would lead him back to his old home for nostalgia sake. He of course wouldn't admit to that however and so if someone asked him why he was here, he'd be about as talkative as Vitus.

He had escaped any sort of familiarity now though it seemed, the lands were completely new to him and the small girl he could see also out exploring was not a wolf he could say he had seen before. He had two logical choices, turn back and head home or be polite and speak with the stranger pup. Logical choices perhaps but not options that Archelaus would immediately choose. He wasn't ready to head back home just yet though he didn't fancy making small talk with a stranger either. To be completely honest he wouldn't have really known where to start, he'd never met anyone outside of family before.

"Oops," She whimpered quietly, crashing to the forest floor after tripping over a stone. The little pink flowers that had fallen from the trees were stirred by her fall, fluttering over her like butterflies. She glanced up at them innocently and let out a quiet groan of pain. Her chin hurt...it felt like she landed on a rock! But it was just dirt and petals! She pulled her paws beneath her and stood up slowly, shaking her head in hopes of ridding her chin of the pain. But it was simply hopeless.

The young lady stopped and fell back on her rump, tail sweeping at the pink petals and dry leaves. When suddenly, a foreign aroma twirled around her, taunting her. Her mother taught her a little about tracking and seeing with her nose...so she was curious. She knew enough to know that someone was nearby. A stranger, nobody familiar. Sparrow scurried to her paws and twisted around instantly, bouncing toward the stranger without even thinking about his age or his capability. But to her relief...he was also a pup, maybe her age?

Sparrow stopped in front of him and puffed her chest out, tail lifting above her small frame. She saw her daddy do this to strangers at the border sometimes...what for again? The young dame tried to make herself appear larger and scarier, to intimidate this strange boy. To make him fear her...so he wouldn't boss her around. If anything, she was the boss! Definitely not him! Her minty eyes studied his ashen-grey colors...his red eyes. She grinned, but strangely enough, held her rather weak position.

"Who are you?" She asked, rather gently, knowing not that the way she stood and the way she spoke did not combine into an attitude one bit.

The stranger fell, a more compassionate individual probably would have rushed over at that point to check the girl was alright. His mother certainly would have done, Amalia was a talented healer too and would have been able to patch up any sort of injury that the trip might have caused. Archelaus was not a healer himself though, though there were surely many things he was brilliant at he hadn't the foggiest on how he would help heal any wounds and so he'd stay put and keep out of the way.

That was the plan at least as he turned and began to walk away, but the girl was back on her feet, perfectly fine and now following him. At the sound of her pawsteps he would turn to face her, red eyes narrowing slightly at the rather dominant stance that she attempted to hold. Archie unfortunately for her sake wasn't the least bit intimidated by the display however. He had never known a time of being an alpha's pup but he had developed an ego all the same. Roman and Drashiel been respected and the same treatment would likely be offered to his grandmother; she may not have been an Armada but she was still family, there was obviously something worthy about her.

This pup however hadn't done anything just yet to earn his respect and it was quickly fading away as she began to speak, the gentle tones so timid in comparison to the stance she tried to hold. It was almost laughable in fact. Now did he proudly introduce himself to this stranger or did he show her how it was really done? He went with the latter. His own head and tail lifting smugly, not that he seemed small at all in comparison to the rather dainty girl before him. "Who is asking?" He enquired, his own voice louder and stronger. He'd never really abused his family's greatness before, even if she had no idea of his wonderful lineage yet, this still felt rather good.

Sparrow had never actually seen many others outside her family. Her family was pretty much everything to her, and she didn't plan on ever leaving them for some other cool-looking pack. Of course, she's met others in Abaven, like Motif and Rhythm. A few others that she couldn't exactly remember, too. But this boy...he definitely wasn't from Abaven. He smelt different, and he didn't have any lines beneath his eyes! Just those big bright red eyes that looked...almost scary from where she stood. They looked like little pools of that sticky red blood.

The boy didn't seem at all scared or intimidated by her stance...which came as a surprise to Sparrow. Instead, he mirrored her, suddenly becoming huge and scary. He wouldn't hurt her...right? The girl's tail dropped between her hind legs and she lowered her stance, ears falling back against her head. She was definitely intimidated by him now. How embarrassing. She bent her knees just slightly and finally sat back on her rump, minty eyes not leaving his. "Who is asking?" He replied harshly, forcing a very quiet whimper from her maw. He really didn't look this scary from afar!

Maybe she shouldn't...underestimate others anymore. Sparrow smiled uneasy and let out a quiet, nervous chuckle, tail thumping against the ground gently. "My name is Sparrow." She replied softly, gaze still not leaving him. She really didn't feel like apologizing for her mistake...but...she was a little guilty for getting in his face so immediately. "Uh...please forgive me for being so rude." She murmured, and slowly dipped her head as a sign of respect. Which...she had also seen her father do! Hopefully she didn't screw up again...

It was quite clear whose little display of dominance had been the best, Archelaus wasn't sure whether to feel proud of his result or to pity the poor attempt of the brown and white girl. He'd tone down the act slightly, it clearly didn't need to be made quite so clear after all who was the better of the pair and he couldn't quite be bothered to keep it up so much anyway. The whimpering girl would introduce herself without any more prompting and even apologise to him. A slightly smug grin would form at the corners of his lips, enjoying the little demonstration of power.

"Stop snivelling." He told her, though the tone was still lacking compassion even if he had been the one to make her feel bad in the first place. Now his brothers he would have felt bad for but this stranger, not so much, certainly not openly anyway. "What do you want Sparrow?" He questioned lazily, there were surely better things he could spend his time on.
