Lark wasn't quite sure how he'd gotten here. He'd wandered significantly further from home than ever before, further west, away from the ocean that he'd come to know as familiar. A dull restlessness had begun to seep into the boy's very core and he found himself wanting to spend time away from home, for the first time in his life, even if only for a day. A soft sigh left the oversized child's maw as he paced along the flat terrain.

There was an air of danger here that he couldn't quite discern. The land seemed normal enough, though was far too flat and barren for the midst of summer. He wrinkled his nose as he sniffed at the air, bowing his head to further inspect the land before moving further along on his journey. Only when he took a step forward and felt the earth sink in under his paws, sucking his paw down like mud, did he jerk back suddenly, unaware of what he'd found -- but knowing it wasn't anything good.

"It'll pull you in," she warned the strange boy. Okay, so she didn't know that for a fact, but from what she'd seen of it, it looked like that's what the muddy grit did. "There's a donkey stuck back that way," Sirius ventured, jerking her towards the direction she'd come. The creature was still alive, but obviously exhausted. Siri had only left it because she needed help killing it. It was smart enough to jerk its head away every time she reached out to grab at it. That's where her siblings would hopefully come in. She hoped one of them could help her out.

Trei had been stalking Sirius.

He wasn't sure if she knew he was there - he thought for sure she'd seen him a couple times and his paws were currently too large compared to the rest of him to do much in the way of stealth, but he was getting better. If he was going to live up to his legacy he'd need to be a much better hunter than just pouncing rodents, and that meant getting better at stalking. Although... hanging around this place seemed like a good way of hunting without getting good at stalking - that donkey he'd passed following Sirius had his interest and not just because it was a warning to not step off the path - but that was probably cheating. While she stopped to talk to some boy, Atreides inched closer... and closer... and closer... AND THEN HE POUNCED!

Throwing himself forward with the fiercest snarl he could muster he sought to pounce on his sister's silvery-white white tail.

He hadn't noticed that anyone else was nearby until he heard a voice. The voice of a young girl interrupted his thoughts and he'd jerk back, away from the quicksand, to stare at her. 'It'll pull you in,' she warned him and he'd narrow his eyes, nodding slightly. "Duh," he retorted, though he hadn't known that until a moment ago when he'd tested his paw in the surface of the land.

He was confused at her sudden declaration that there was a donkey stuck somewhere behind her. "So?" Lark would question a bit brazenly. "Do you want me to help you or something?" Surely the girl didn't want to save it, but maybe it could make a good meal.. though he found himself wondering how they might kill it without getting stuck themselves. And surely if they freed it, two kids couldn't kill it, right?

The next thing that happened surprised him even more than the strange girl's arrival. From seemingly out of nowhere, a boy with silvery fur ran forward to pounce on the girl and he frowned in distaste. "Who are you?"
