It was after the meeting, and Sparrow was already out searching for a herd of elk or deer, her smallish body lowered to the ground and her keen eyes scanning the area. She'd been out here for several minutes in the baking sun, excited to start her first real hunt. Hah, no one else was going to call this hunt together! Who better than her, a natural hunter and the daughter of Bass, to do it! She's caught plenty of grasshoppers and butterflies. Even rabbits, and once, a little snake! Of course she didn't know what it was like to bring down a larger animal. But...it wouldn't hurt to find out! How hard could it be?
Suddenly, Sparrow paused, her large, sensitive ears catching the sound of a quiet bleat-like noise. She rose from the long grass and stared out ahead, only to see a smaller-looking herd of what seemed to be...deer! What kind, she wasn't sure. But they were slender and brown. And she didn't stay long enough to find out whether there was an old, injured/sick, or young one in the herd. She just turned and took off to find a place to call the wolves together. They'd figure it out together! She was still pretty young, after all!
Once she got to the border between the Monument Rapids and Serpent Plains, she let out a smooth howl, an excited grin stretching across her face. She was so excited...what would it feel like to sink her teeth into this beast?! Would it be as satisfying as bringing those rabbits to their death? Would there be as much blood? Sparrow seated herself, giggling aloud as she waited for those who were interested in participating to arrive. Hopefully it'd be a lot...they needed some numbers here, if there wasn't a weak one lingering at the back of the herd!
