(Feeling very four horsemeny today - For Croat)

Slowly Calypsei had started to come into her own, attending all of the lessons that she could in Abaven and practicing each skill with a particular vigor she had not seen since she was just a little girl. She was still a little girl, but she meant littler than that. She let a sly smile creep onto her face as she practiced her navigation by trying to sniff out and follow scent trails of prey that lurked around the hard stone lands that surrounded her. She knew the lands of Abaven too well so she had to expand to elsewhere to effectively practice what it is that she was searching to achieve.

The cyan blue girl was not just up and about for practicing her skills but also to try and meet new wolves (you could never have too many acquaintances) and to combine her tracking with her hunting abilities. She preferred fighting and those skills over hunting and navigation but the white-masked hellion had no way to practice those without a partner. She would settle for asking Bass if she could spar with one of his children at a later date. She was still too new, in her mind, to be trusted despite her age.

It was during this process that she would catch the scent of rabbits unmistakably surrounding her in the air. She would draw in a deep breath, the soothing scent hitting the roof of her mouth and flooding her nostrils as she slowly breathed out. The tracks slowly laced themselves into the ground and she noticed them. Her grin widened. She would slowly fall onto her haunches and hackles to crouch lower to the ground as she followed through her majestic pursuit. Nothing could stop her now.

Snow. Over here. You can find something to eat. Those were the whispered words of one of the creatures who had helped her for so long, and Snow gave a small nod. She turned and headed in the direction she had been told, until the smell of rabbits hit her, and she stopped. What made her stop dead in her tracks, though, was the scent of another wolf. Her light gray and white limbs carried her towards the scent, even though every instinct she had was screaming at her to stop, along with her friends. And yet she ignored all that, and began running, her tail held behind her and her tongue hanging out. At the sight of the other, she tried to stop, but the only thing she managed to do was close her jaws before she crashed into the other.

Snow backed away, shaking her gray and white head as she tried to regain her composure, and happened to look up at that time. Her blue gaze widened, as she stared at the wolf, for she instantly thought that the wolf in front of her was a water creature, one of her friends, and began to wag her tail. Ha! Wait till Gelus saw....Oh. Gelus wasn't there. Snow shook her head, tilting her head at the supposed water creature. Maybe she should start the conversation with 'hi'. But what came out of her jaws was totally different.

"You're real! I told Gelus that you were! But did he listen? No! He said that water creatures like you didn't exist, yet here you are! Not that I ever doubted it. I mean, I've talked with a bunch of other water creatures and-" Snow breathed in, taking a breath after the rant she had just been on. "-But you're the only one I've seen out of water and this is so cool!" She ran in a small circle, then stopped and tilted her head. "You....Are a water creature, right?" She had only just thought to ask that in her excitement.

The hunt had been going so well, her pursuit close to finishing until another crashed into her, causing her to growl as she landed on the ground. Quickly she would find her way to her feet and turn to the other wolf, growling. The threatening look would quickly trade itself for confusion as the other wolf started to ramble on about her being a water spirit and how another had told her that she was wrong and that they didn't exist and a whole ton of other voodoo. Her eyes widened as she slowly started to back up from the crazy wolf. She needed to get out because nutters, she had been warned, were always the most dangerous. If she was being mistaken for a water spirit, she needed to get out of there.

"I'm just a wolf... I'm Calypsei." Her tone was soft as she broke the news to the other wolf softly, unsure of what to do. Should she run back to Abaven to make sure this wolf didn't take the news in a violent turn or should she stay and comfort the wolf, explaining that she was not a water creature and that if she was, she would still be in the water. The cyan blue girl's head tilted to the side as she continued backing up until she was confident that she was a safe distance away from the other wolf.

The other wolf turned on Snow, growling, and the female backed away, her blue gaze wide, a tinge of fear in them. Would one of the water creatures act so threatening towards her? At the wolf saying that she was no water creature, Snow backed away, a little worried now; she hadn't really seen any wolves that looked like this. She hesitated before speaking, her own voice soft as she answered the wolf. "Oh....I'm sorry, Calypsei, for mistaking you for one of them." She gave her head a small shake, backing away even more. She wasn't the most trusting wolf, even to those that didn't seem to want to cause her harm. "I'm Snow. Snow Ignea." If the frosty colored wolf knew of her last name's true meaning, she would most likely have ditched it for another name. She was terrified of fire, after the experience with it that had almost killed her.

The other backed away, and Snow tilted her head in confusion; did the other female think she was dangerous? She didn't even know how to fight!

The girl was becoming more and more confused by the second as she looked at the other female standing there. The woman apologized for mistaking her for a water creature and she put up a soft smile. "It's alright; it happens all of the time." It was a lie but she figured it might make the other wolf feel better and therefore it flew out of her maw without a second thought. She wondered if the other girl spoke often of the water creatures which had been deeply embedded in the religion that Calypsei had been taught in her first season of life. She smiled at that thought when she spoke next. "That is a beautiful name, Snow." She would compliment the other, her eyes focused.

The other one said that it was alright and happened all the time, which made the pale female feel a little better, even if the other was lying to her. Snow pushed that thought out her mind; this wolf seemed to be friendly. Snow felt that she could trust the other. At the compliment, Snow gave a small nod, acknowledging the compliment but not saying anything about it. "As is your name, Caypsei." She was a little nervous, sure, but it was just because of the fact that she was no longer the most trusting wolf she used to be.

She stared up at the other wolf, wondering what to say. "Do you have any family?"

A soft breeze blew through the young child’s fur as she gazed at the woman in white. Perhaps there was more to Snow than meets the eye. The young woman would return the compliment, making Calypsei smile underneath her stoical expression. She tried her best to remain neutral and keep emotions off her face but she allowed them into her eyes. Her mind tried to wrap around the topics they were discussing as the young woman asked her if she had any family. “No.” Her words were cool and she made it clear with her harsh tones that she would prefer not to talk about such topics further. It would only upset her more and force her to awaken bad memories including those of her captors, her now dead friend, and how her family had turned their backs away from her. Was she vain for being bitter? No, she had a right to be.
