Well, here she was, slowly making her way back down south now that summer was over and autumn had returned, bringing cooler temps. Being purely black was not a pleasant thing in the heat of winter down south. Of course, autumn brought a heat of an entirely different kind - the really, really annoying kind, as Signy was finding out. If Ozzy hadn't been there to explain what exactly was happening to her body, she probably would have thought she was going crazy, or getting sick like the epidemic that had made Cecily sick back when they were pups. It was really stupid was what it was - just because she was old enough to have puppies now her body had to go and do some stupid heat cycle? Well she didn't want puppies so why did she have to go through the whole dumb thing? Stupid!! Well, it didn't seem that reaching Baby-Making Age had changed her body much - Signy was still as pixie-like as she ever was and the short stature combined with her slim build made her look like a child despite the stupid pheromone scent that she couldn't seem to get rid of no matter how much she bathed. Eugh. It was super gross. Ozzy didn't seem to be bothered by it, though he was a pine marten and carried his own musky odor all the time so he was probably used to being stinky. He was bouncing along beside her at the moment as she trotted along, sticking his nose into everything as he looked for prey. They hadn't eaten yet today but that wasn't so unusual - she had managed to catch a beaver on land yesterday so they'd eaten well on the rich meat and weren't in immediate need of food. It was just never a good idea to pass up the opportunity to hunt when you didn't know when your next meal would come by. She herself was alert as well, constantly on the lookout for danger as well as prey - not that she was worried about it... she was hardly the weak child she appeared, and she trotted beneath the towering trees with complete confidence. This pine marten has a very foul mouth and a confusing accent. He is also fierce and hates to be called adorable. You have been warned.

The woman had gotten sidetracked while she had been tracking her potential minion, or rather her stomach had decided it was time for a meal. In short Kathleen hat temporarily wavered from her task of following around a large male wolf to go hunting. Being who she was, she knew for a fact that she could find him again. It wasnt like he would miss her either as he had never even known she was there. For the past couple of days she had been his unseen shadow. His stalker an unknown companion. At the time he had been her prey, not for a meal but for her own amusment.
For now though the snow leopard had managed to catch scent of something that could potetially be eaten only to find that it was accompanied by a small black mutt who just so happened to be in heat. The simple fact that she was with the creature and not eating it had made her growl. The fact that she was in heat ment nothing to her aside from the possibility of more mutts. With silent steps Kat would stalk up to the two beasties. "Ill never understand why you beasts ceep food as pets."

As the scent of feline reached him Ozymandias first froze, hunkered down in the leaf litter as his mint green eyes searched the foliage for the predator he sensed there, then as she appeared he snarled and chattered before racing up the side of a mammoth redwood tree to rest on a branch and stare down at her. "Yahh go sucka egg ya berk," he sneered down at the cat. "Ya cen't cetch me any'ow, wheezy ol' beg." Signy just watched with mild interest as the marten scrambled up above her, before she turned her head to study the pale figure of the leopard. "You'd have to be pretty desperate to try to eat an adult marten," she retorted matter-of-factly. "I'm not a bad enough hunter that I'd have to try to catch a musky old weasel for lunch when I could eat a nice fat hare. Besides, he's been my friend since I was a puppy. Eating your friends is really rude." She cocked her head to the side, acid green eyes bright with interest. She'd known her tiger friend since puphood, and once met a cougar, but this was the first spotted cat she'd ever met. Short as Signy was the cat was only a bare inch taller, unlike her Mr. Tiger who was as tall as the tallest wolf she'd ever seen. She grinned fearlessly at the feline. "What's it to you anyway? Feeling bitter cuz you can't catch yourself a bunny?" Ozymandias - a pine marten Signy - not a pine marten |

Kathleen would raise an eyebrow at the small creature as he would, in his own words, cuss her out and call ber names. Ok so maybe she could understand why the mutt kept this one around. He was a rather entertaining smart ass who was over confident in being able to escape her should she decide yo eat him. "I wouldnt be too sure of that." her voice and features would hold a bit if amusment and then her features would change once more to the raised eyebrow as the green eyed k-nine would speak.
"Its quite didicult for me to become desperate for food, cosidering I can take down prey three times my weight and part of my diet consists of verious plants as well as meat." Kat was a bad hunter by no means and a rabit was a mere snack compaired to her usual yack, horse or large mountain goat. "No, I am bitter because of the family I no longer have. The closest things I have to a 'friend' are a Tiger and a Lynx. And they are merely acquaintances." her voice would hold none of its previous amusement but a rather serious tone.
