He lounged upon his sitting rock, playing with a new stone he'd add to his forever growing pile. There was something nice about being on a beach, whether it was bathing in the sun or the ocean, the overbundance of fish and squid or the relentless breeze. But for Volty, it was this...he was able to find many many pretty rocks to add to his collection. With a gentle sigh he gathered it between his paws and rolled onto his back, flicking his paws to toss it in the air. It landed somewhere behind his head and he instantly rolled, leaping after it to pick it up between his jaws, tossing it again and chasing after it. He would continue this untill he made it to the soundproofed den to place the little stone on the pile he held. This was a place that he held desperately close to his heart. Its where he kept his momentos, where he slept with Serefina during those storms... He collected rocks, a feather or two, some dried out leaves, and a few larger stones he deemed as a piece of the sun, moon and sun. He kept collections that reminded him of his entire family, even if it was harder to get ones that reminded him of Serefina or Glacier.

With a heavy sigh he shook his head, backing out of the den after ensuring his collection was safe. He needed a distraction, he needed to get his mind off his brother, off the fragility of his family. With a shake of his head he quickly turned, trotting back to his sitting rock and sighing. Planting his rump upon the large flat stone he stared out at the horizon, watching the sun begin it's decent. Where was his siblings? Perhaps they were all out finding their futures, their destinies...just like Astrea and Glacier (and Voltage, but that was different). Eventually, he knew, they would have to scatter. There wasn't enough room here for everyone to have families, and for them to have families. Ten wolves could multiply so quickly. And that was the best option. Just...look at Glacier. It was so easy and so quick for him to lose one of them, and soon...all he would have left were his momentos. With a shake of his head he looked over his shoulder, wondering where Serefina was. He needed her...

Little did he know, he had been where she was and left without notice. But she blended in so well with the shadows. Ember eyes flashed open, glowing in the darkness as the boy made his exit. Slowly she rose to her paws, spotting the new rock that he had collected for himself. Dipping her head down she touched it with her nose, and it was still warm from his... MOUTH! Jolting back her nose scrunched up, her face shaking back and forth to get rid of the drool that clung to her damp nose. Eww... nasty. Licking her chops with her turned up face, she strode out of their den and followed her brothers path. Hopping up beside him, she wiped his slobber back onto him, right against his left shoulder. "You left drool on your new rock, warn me not to poke my nose in your drool next time." she grumbled.

Flopping down beside him, she wiggled against him. She placed her head on his paws, letting out a long sigh. She had felt so alone lately, and it made her belly flop. "What am I going to do when you guys all go off and make a family?" she asked suddenly, a soft whisper against his yellow and black coat. They all had ones that they cared about, but not her. She was too restless, there wasn't going to be anyone that could settle her down. No one but him, her Voltage.

Voltage watched her approach, brow raising as she walked out of their den. How had he missed her? Perhaps it was because her scent was so strong there, or his fleeting mind was on other things. Reguardless, he welcomed her company gladly, grinning as she nudged him. At her comment he laughed, bubbly sounding but not nearly as energetic as he normally was. "That's what you get for touching my collection!" He said with a gentle, toothy grin, leaning down to nuzzle into her neck fur as she laid on his paws. He loved her, so dearly. Everything about her, how she could distract him from his thoughts, or sometimes join him in his angst. It was rather often that they seemed to be on the same wavelength, even now as she spoke. And Voltage would grin again, pulling his paws from under her head to lay beside her, moving to wrap her in his embrace.

"Who in the world ever said I was going anywhere. Especially without you." He said softly, moving to nuzzle into her fur. "Donostrea is my home, I couldnt survive without you, or any one of our siblings." He sighed softly, breathing in her scent and just basking in the warmth that was his firery sister. It was true, what Astrea had said. His family was his element, their energy gave him life. He could not survive without them. "I may have found someone that might become equally as important, Serefina, but there is nothing that could dim your light in my life. Your fire forever burns in my eyes. What can I do, sister, to assure that?" He wanted to calm her fears that he would leave her, abandon her because he found something "better" (not better, just...different).

He teased her, telling him that that is what she got from touching them. She huffed, but didn't say anything. It was true that they ran on the same patterns, almost as if their emotions were attached by a cord. She was down, he was down. They were both in a strange state of mind, but they were in it together. Voltage and Serefina. Lightbutt and Firebutt. They were forever in this together, they always would be. He pulled her paws from under her and her head hit the rock with a thunk, and she looked up and glared at him. She was about to make a rude comment when he went on to speak, asking who said he was going anywhere. Sere shrugged as he moved to curl around her, and she pushed her spine up into him as she cuddled into his embrace. Another shuttering sigh left her, licking her lips.

Ears twitched as she listened to him, a small smile on her lips. She knew that Voltage was devoted to her, but when he asked what he could do to prove it, she eyed him. "We could... mark each other." She said with a smirk, a wicked gleam in her eyes. She was thinking of something along the lines of scars but... fur grew long over them. Pondering, she eyed his shoulder and tried to stretch up her neck to lick his shoulder. "You could put a... flame on your shoulder? And you could put a lightening bolt on me or something. And then, everyone would know who we belong to. Cause I can't be on this earth without you, losing you once was enough." Serefina said, a choke in her throat.

Voltage cuddled close to her, enjoying the rare moments where they weren't digging teeth in each others flesh, or trying to push each other in the ocean. He loved the feeling of her warmth, knowing that it was there, that nothing had happened to her. It was his greatest fear, and it had almost been realized. He feared for his brother dearly, and the scene of him falling and then not moving replayed before his eyes every time he closed them. And as he thought about it, there were other scenes in his life that often popped up aswell, and the most prominent of those was the look upon Serefina's face when he was forced to leave her behind. The moments where he was powerless to revert the pain and make it better, the times where his love and devotion were absolutely useless in the face of fate.

With a gentle sigh he breathed in her scent, almost feeling that smile and those cogs turn in her skull. She had a plan, he could almost feel it. But he remained patient, untill she spoke. "Mark?" He asked, a single brow raising slightly as he reguarded her, concerned for the plan she might have. But when she touched his shoulder, explaining her idea, he couldn't help but grin. Instantly (as always) he was along for the ride, getting excited at the very idea she had come up with. It was brilliant! In a very close-knit family he and Serefina were oddly closer. It was like they were made from the same cloth, only a year apart. And he wondered, briefly, if maybe they shared the same thread of the universe. With a bright, toothy grin he'd nod. "Now, my fire queen, how do you suggest we go about this?" He asked, excited. Even if it were scarring, he was sure he'd be along for the ride. He never knew he needed something like this, a sign, a symbol that she was there, forever marked into his fur.
