Nikolai slowed to a halt in a small clearing in the middle of a small stand of trees. The vegetation was thicker than he had anticipated in this area so it was nice to stop and shake the leaves and things that had gotten caught in his fur free. His mind was still buzzing from the meeting they had left just a few hours before. All of the sudden he and his friend were homeless and he honestly wasn't sure what to do. When he had come to Alacritis he had only been a loner for a short time before he found the new Ebony and dedicated himself to it. At the very least he was glad to have Aisling to keep him from falling back into the old rut he had been in way back when.

He glanced around until his gaze landed on a puddle of rainwater and he went to it to take a few gulps of water, being sure to leave plenty should Ais want any herself. He sighed softly and turned his gaze toward the woman that had followed him out of the pack now named Yifr. He felt responsible not only for bringing her into this mess, but now responsible for her safety. Even though he had wanted to get away from being a warrior and she had begun to teach him a few things in the trade of healing, he at least could take solstice in knowing that he could fight if need arose. "Are you okay?" he asked as he gently pressed his nose to her cheek in an friendly, encouraging gesture.
