Play me out

When Rune had left she had decided she was staying put. His pretty little wife and children had all left and she had decided to stay put. She was old and had little to live for anymore anyways. The spirit that had held her together for this long had withered away during the winter, and if she was being honest she hadn’t expected to survive this long.

Not that she was actively seeking out her own death or anything. She still got food and took care of herself but her aging body was simply slowing down. The early spring sun was warming her weary bones  and she waited. The spring had rolled around and that meant another year of her life. A life she was frankly growing tired of.

So it came as no surprise as weariness began to pull her eyelids down and she slipped into sleep. There would be no real understanding of passage of time but slowly the woman’s form grew rigid and cold. “Well that it then old woman? I expected more!” Her brother’s voice taunted in her head. “You’re one to talk bastard!” She spat in her head. The image of Adrenaline swam before her vision and she had to laugh. To hell it was then.
