Paws carried him towards the edge of the lake, his venture in the North had been somewhat fruitful, but still no sign of his family. It sort of frustrated him, that he had run into one sister and then she seemed to disappear off the face of the planet. Had they all decided to go back home? Or were they hiding themselves away? Spring should have been a promise of new beginnings, but as it was, Aqil was left wandering in his troubled thoughts. Surely he could have found Asali by now, she had been the first to leave and little he little, his other e siblings had trickled off to follow in pursuit.

Evening had begun to arrive, the sunset over the trees quite a sight for him. Lately he hadn't gotten a chance to enjoy it, and that was due to his loneliness. He wanted to share these moments with his family, but where the heck were they!? With a sigh, Aqil chose to sit on the bank. Green eyes full of sadness, his heart feeling heavy. Little by little, the fireflies began to trickle over the lake...but not even they seemed to be able to lift his spirits.

Location: Firefly Lake

She burst from the grass with a sigh of relief, looking where she pushed the grass apart. She couldn't stay long... but at least she knew the general area around Abaven, so if she got lost, she should be able to find her way back. It may not be tonight, but she should be able to. As is, she arrived just in time for the sun to set. Ooops. She hadn't really been able to see above the grasses - they were tall - and it was already pretty dark, so she didn't realize how late it had become. It definitely was too late for her to return at night. As much as night running was fun... well, so was this. Very much so.

As the shadows lengthened and night truly fell, the sun's rays blasting one last time near where she stood, she finally noticed what was in front of her: a large body of water, with a sandy beach leading down to it. The fireflies - even blue ones, not just regular yellow ones, floated around. One landed on her nose, and her eyes crossed as she stared at it, before ducking her head and rubbing her nose. It really just bothered her, but all the while she giggled.

Her eyes danced around again, only to freeze on a silhouette she'd not seen before. It was... her eyes narrowed, and she breathed in the scent. Something... something she wasn't entirely sure of. It was a cat, a cat of some sort, but not one she had seen. Certainly not one that was blue-ish, really blue in the light. It set her on edge; she didn't like this - not one bit. She could just tell this was another predator, like her, and a low growl rumbled deep in her throat as she stared at the thing

Ears flattened as a sound caught his attention from behind, it sounded hostile, and in turn Aqil's fur instinctively began to bristle. Turning around, green eyes caught sight of a canine, one of the wolves that lived here in the lands he had trekked. She was growling at him, but why? The tip of his tail twitched nervously, he didn't want to fight. Trying to smooth his coat down, he gazed at the wolf with guarded curiosity. Maybe she was afraid of him? He was different after all, so far those he had encountered hadn't seen his kind before. Maybe that was it.

Taking a deep breath, he remained where he was. For the fear of further approaching the girl kept him from moving, she'd probably see it as a sign of attack or hostility. Instead, he tried to relax himself as he uttered a greeting, "Sitakuja kukudhuru." His voice was gentle, his movements a little slow so as not to startle her.

She tensed up even more when the cat noticed her, it's own fur standing on end.... and then flattening. What? In her confusion, she relaxed a bit: that was not the behavior of one who was violent. The growls ceased as the cat remained still, only watching her as she watched him; when he spoke, she was still on guard, but was a lot more relaxed. In fact, her head tipped in curiosity when he spoke: she had no clue what he sai. It wasn't bad, that much she could tell from the tone. A greeting, maybe?

"I can't understand you," she replied, in a voice that still spoke of her guardedness. It wasn't a wolf, so it wasn't breaking rules by being in this land, but still.

She eyed him with guarded curiosity, and in turn he did the same. If she wanted to attack him she could, and whether he would fight or flee, well...he'd probably choose the latter. His teeth were longer and thicker then hers he was sure, but he was against fighting a woman. And fighting in general. Aqil believed himself to be a being of peace and gentility, his soul never had been marred by violence and his pelt never marked with signs of battle.

When she told him she didn't understand, he'd frown a little. Why did he keep doing that? He should know that the wolves here didn't speak his languages. "Ah, my apologies. I often forget that the primary language here is English. I said I'm not going to harm you, you can trust me on that Miss." He dipped his head to her as a show of apology, green gaze then gazing at her in curiosity.

She looked at him curiously, slightly unguarded now that he spoke once more, assuring her of his intentions. She took a few steps forward, slowly, hesitantly, testing the waters. Really, she just wanted to get up close with him and sniff him. Yes, she wanted to sniff the cat. No, it was not weird. Or at least, that's what she told herself. Provided she was allowed to get near, she would gingerly sniff his shoulder, before stretching her body in an attempt to sniff his ears. If she was not allowed to get near, and he backed up, she'd stop, watching quietly, wondering what to say. It would only take a few moments, whether or not she was allowed to sniff or not, for her to think of something to say. "Would you teach me your language?"

He watched her slowly approach him, the male taking a deep breath for relaxation as he further assured her he meant her no harm. He watched her curiously as she leaned forward to sniff at his shoulder, and in turn he took in her scent as well. He sat straight as he lightly chuckled, this was perhaps the closest he'd ever been to a canine. At least, one that wasn't trying to steal his meal or run his family off. She seemed quite interested in him, and he couldn't blame the young girl. She was but a yearling, he was sure she'd never met nor seen a creature such as he before. "Would you teach me your language?" Surprise was apparent in his eyes, though a smile soon followed. It was the first time anyone had asked him to teach them anything, and his heart fluttered at the prospect. "Why of course! I'd be more then happy to teach you whenever you wish." He purred Then it occurred to him they hadn't yet exchanged names. "My name is Aqil, what might yours be?"

The purring startled her, and she jumped, eyes wide. It sounded like... well, it wasn't a growl. But it was... so weird. She almost missed his actual words due to that purr, and she had to shake herself to settle her fur back down. A smile lit her face, a tinge of uneasiness still left from the purr, though it seemed a sound of... pleasure? Happiness? She wasn't entirely sure. "Thank you." She fell silent after that, until Aqil spoke again, his name. "I am Lillianna; you can call me Lillie, though, Aqil." She glanced back at the sky; a frown twisting her lips as she glanced down at Aqil. She felt awkward; oh so awkward. "I... should probably go," she murmured, voice relunctant. Ears had flattened to her head in her embarrassment. "I didn't realize how late it was until I came from the grasses, and I probably shouldn't stay the night here. Will you be around? Next time I'm able to go out, maybe?" she questioned.
