Ohh woe was her, boredom took over her soul far too quickly. She could only guess how things were going with her brother, it seemed like everyone else had gone missing. Quickly visiting in with Quelt had made him happy enough. Playing the good girl for a bit, she couldn't help but to be a bit happy she had seen her adopted father. However with a messed up life like hers, Renhett had wanted to just move on with things. Ixionn seemed to be wandering around somewhere too. Her red eyes searched the gulley, there were so many..... herbs.

Not that it surprised her, but it was thankful enough that they were here. Perhaps a stop to study, and reconnect with the physical sense of her healing powers. After all, there were not a lot of times where she got to use her mental abilities. Not with Levi not just yet. Some day she hoped to make his life easier though one way or another. Her tail perked as she looked at the cluster of plants, going through herb names in her head. It made her let out an audible sigh.

Walk | Talk | Think

She was back to slowly walking through the territory again, searching in her methodical way for plants that would prove beneficial additions to her healer's cache. It was an arduous undertaking but one that was showing progress with each outing that she took, and currently her collection of medicinal plants resembled something akin to what she wanted it to look like. In a way, it thrilled her knowing there was still so much more of the Gulley to look through, knowing there were still other plants out there she had either not found yet or knew nothing about, remedies both familiar and new. Callisto hoped to soon have the Gulley fully investigated, but she was in no rush. Collecting and identifying plants was part of the fun, possibly even more entertaining for her than seeing the effects they had on a body - especially when those bodies had a tendency to talk when her preference was that they remain silent.

As much as she seemed to tolerate what it was that Callisto did, the cat had ideas of her own and things that she would rather do. For that reason, the healer was alone as she traveled this day, enjoying the quiet as well as the task at hand. Her silvery blue eyes examined the small, freshly green plants that grew to her left, even pausing a moment to inspect them more closely with a cautious sniff. Hm, maybe not something that she could use. With a final glance at the plant, she continued moving once more, her nose continually scenting the air for unique smells that she hoped would lead her to new finds.

Only it was not the smell of a plant that caught her attention and drew her brows downward into an irksome frown. It was the smell of a wolf, rather close to where she was, and almost by instinct she began to look around her with a new purpose. Ever since traveling north in search of her children, her paranoia had skyrocketed, and meeting new individuals had begun to feel like a test of fate to see whether something horrible would come to ruin the semblance of happiness that she had found her in the isolation of the Fern Gulley. Her first instinct was to hide, to slip away unseen and hopefully allow the wanderer to pass before picking up where she had left off. She thought, too, of calling for help, knowing full well that her friend - friend? - Jakart would be there in an instant if she so much as thought his name. But as she looked around and thought of her...friend...and his family she began to feel an unexpected sense of bravery, invincibility. She had protection here. She knew wolves who would stand up in her defense if anyone threatened her. What did she have to fear from some trespasser wandering through her home?

Still frowning as a new sense of pride slowly began to circulate through her system, the black and grey wolf padded quietly in pursuit of the scent, tracking it to its source. Before she could give herself entirely away, Callisto hesitated, watching a moment as the other wolf looked at the plants around her. In fact...she actually seemed to be doing much the same thing that Callisto had been doing before the scent of the trespasser had interrupted her. Feeling possessive of the plants here, no matter that most of them grew elsewhere in the woods and would provide more than enough for a few wolves to share, the healer finally ventured forward and stopped, addressing the stranger bluntly and without greeting. "What are you doing?"

Renhett seemed to be trespassing, when she heard the voice she turned her head towards Callisto blinking. The woman hadn't realized that this place was owned by someone, Renhett was no rude dweller loner or not sometimes a home was a home to some wolves. Looking back at the herb of what seemed to be one she didn't know she would smile at the other. "I'm sorry that I intruded, as much as I love herbs I've been trying to figure out what this one is. I guess, I can never stop learning new things as a healer." her tail wagged back and forth in a friendly manner.

"I can leave if you wish." Renhett was not one to be intruding. So if the female so wished it she could leave, however her interest was not perked. Who was she? Why was she so secluded, something different about her? Her paws would stay steady on the ground as she waited for a response.

Walk | Talk | Think

It looked like she might have surprised the curious female during her inspection of the plants, but she was quick to regain her composure and offer a smile in answer to Callisto's blunt question. Not one for pleasantries, the black and grey healer did not feel any less distrusting and guarded around the wandering individual, though she thought she caught something akin to a pack's scent on her. It was unidentifiable but then again Calli had never truly paid any attention whatsoever to packs and politics. That had always been better left to those who ruled and dealt with those affairs. All she cared about was this wolf potentially harming the plants that she wanted to keep and grow here, and that had nothing to do with allegiances.

The stranger presented herself in a friendly manner, all smiles and politeness, and still the blue-eyed wolf did not express anything but her guarded wariness. It was only when she spoke the magic word - healer - that any sort of reaction could be seen. There was a sudden spark that lit her eyes when she heard the word, understanding then that this wolf truly did have a purpose here in the Fern Gulley. It was the same as hers, an expedition to learn, and though she still felt the possessive notion to get between this wolf and the plants that she had been eyeing Callisto could not fault her for her curiosity. Entering someone's home would likely not have bothered her much either if it meant gaining a new find.

While her brow stayed furrowed and the look on her face distrustful, the rest of her did begin to relax, sensing no harm from this other kindred spirit. All the stranger was interested in were the plants, both of them the same, and she could tell from the friendly disposition and the offer of departing that this individual was too accommodating to cause a stir. "If you're just here for the plants," she stated then paused for just a second, as if she was about to reconsider, but she finished her thought anyway, "then go ahead and look at them. I'm sure I've seen more of them further into the forest." Callisto glanced at the plants then and though it took her a moment to place it without its typical blooms she thought she knew which it was. "That's Marigold," she added with a gesturing motion of her muzzle toward the plant. "Since you were wondering. It's easier to identify when it's in bloom."

OOC: Picked a plant to label as the one Ren was looking at. xD Hopefully that's okay!

This woman, she couldn't possibly be a anti-social hermit could she? Well Renhett could see for one thing she didn't entirely like company. Yet if they could both focus on herbs that was fine with her as well. She was only an information whore or something like that. As she looked at it, she would take in it's scent. Now she felt kind of stupid, but this wasn't a place she went to often. "Looks funny not in bloom. I'll have to keep that in mind." she didn't entirely know herbs NOT in bloom she realized. Perhaps it could be a touch-up on her skills to find some sort of brief mentor.

"My name's Renhett Walker." Renhett introduced herself with a slight smile on her face. It was always nice to meet someone new no matter who they were. So, Renhett would hope that the other did not mind her company here. Her paws firmly planted to the ground. Her posture was rather relaxed her tail hanging just below the spine.

Walk | Talk | Think

Callisto watched with a blank, disinterested sort of expression as the other individual reexamined the plants she had been looking at and came to the same conclusion about them that she had. Marigold, just without the telltale flowers to clearly identify it by. The news seemed to be received rather well by the other healer, and she looked to be happy with her new revelation. That was all fine and dandy for Callisto - the less ignorant healers there were in the world, the less ignorant healers there were for her to have the displeasure of meeting - but, as Renhett had noticed, she was considerably more on the reserved, hermit side of life. And already she was thinking about how nice things were before she had decided to jump into a random conversation.

Still, she did not immediately leave as the red-eyed wolf introduced herself, and even, after a second's thought, offered her own in response. "Callisto," she responded, short and succinct. It struck her as slightly odd how often she came across wolves with surnames, especially when she had none. Not that she needed anything tying her back to her parents - she likely would have dropped it by now anyway. A little of her protectiveness over the plants in this area that she had claimed for herself lingered as she stared across at the other healer, and though she was still somewhat eager to depart, Callisto still asked, "Were you looking for anything in particular?" The Gulley was full of a number of a different sorts of plants. She could only imagine what, in particular, might have drawn this wolf here.

Renhett could see that she was the more reserved type. Being as she was, even her ears picked up the other woman's breathing. She was so calm, she kind of envied her. Though, Renhett's presence was pushing that. The positioning of her muscles, for the sake of these herbs she was so protective of. Her ruby eyes looked around, maybe. "I wasn't planning on running into something in particular, maybe it was you." Renhett mused for a moment. She didn't mean to make it sound so rash, her paws feeling the ground easily. "I heard this place has a lot of herbs in it. But if it means so much to you I can't just waltz in here like it's nothing." Renhett would smile at her.

"Your name is pretty, Callisto." it was a little late for the compliment but she meant it. Renhett rarely did compliment others on their names. Looks for sure, and flattery was something she turned to a lot. Her tail twitched at the end mildly, was she going to be allowed in or refused to this haven of a place. Renhett had no qualms with just moving about with this woman through the lands and then never returning. If Callisto preferred not to waist her breath, Renhett could be silent as well. She could try at least.

Walk | Talk | Think

Callisto's silvery blue eyes narrowed slightly as she listened to the red-eyed wolf answer her question. She was not at all sure how to take her comments, especially since they implied knowing her. Her intention may have been to run into her? The thought that someone may have been keeping an eye on her made her skin crawl, and discreetly the suddenly nervous healer cast quick glances to either side. That was just what she had feared moving to this place, especially after making her trip north. If this healer woman had found her simply by observing, there was nothing keeping her tormentor and personal demon from doing the same.

She barely heard the rest of her answer, though she had the sense enough to know that Renhett had added more. It was the compliment that caught her attention in the end, and her wandering gaze swiftly settled again on the wolf standing across from her, this overly friendly stranger that she had suddenly become distrustful of. "If you want to wander around, go ahead," she stated with a blunt finality, "just don't pull anything that's not fully grown yet." Maybe if she just let this Renhett wolf go, the uneasiness would leave her.

The female's eyes were quick to note the small changes. Suddenly Renhett found herself falling back to a neutral stance. Was it so hard for others to accept how friendly she was? Then again, she supposed someone in their past could have crushed that bit of their soul. It made the female let out a breath closing her eyes as she lowered her head for a moment. She too looked around her, if someone came here to follow her she would be sure to protect Callisto from that. Something about the woman, she wanted her to live how she wanted. Because freedom, that's what was most important to her. Individuality.

Her attempt to make small talk had been shot down. Renhett wouldn't say a word she nodded her head, but before she went to walk. She stood a bit closer to Callisto. "I don't know what happened to you but..... don't let anyone steal your individuality. You're a beautiful girl Callisto. Even if you are older than me, your heart has pieces of gold. If you're ever in trouble, if I'm available I'm here. I'm a stranger but... I hate wolves who would destroy and claim a female like you who lives how she wants." Renhett just spoke her mind as she went off in a different direction of the lands. Her nose guiding her as she went to look at more herbs. Her excitement growing back up as she smiled and wagged her tail. This place, no wonder Callisto lived here. It was a healers paradise.

Walk | Talk | Think

Callisto was on the verge of leaving. She wanted to, very much, even though a nagging part of her wanted to watch this red-eyed wolf like a hawk, fearful that Renhett would do something to upset the plant-life because of sheer ignorance. Stupidity could be avoided if only she would stay and keep an eye over this stranger's wanderings, but the conversation and company did not suit the black and grey healer one bit. She felt unsettled and uneasy, like she was not safe here despite the smiles and flippancy of every statement made, as if there was more to it, some subtle, underlying threat that only she could detect. Was she reading too much into it, or had her safety here in the Gulley been compromised?

The short-tempered answer she gave Renhett seemed to do the trick in getting the over-the-top friendliness to tone down, and much of the bubbliness of the stranger disappeared. Good, Callisto thought. Making friends was not on her list of things to do this day, nor did she have any inclination to add it. She just wanted to be left alone. She just wanted to feel safe.

Before she could fully relax knowing the stranger intended to take her leave, the antisocial healer was approached more closely. She leaned away from the intrusion, her frowning expression distrustful as she tensed in place. Quietly, she was given one final parting thought, a wish that she not lose who she was. The statements puzzled Callisto more than she let on, though she refused to ponder them too closely. What did this wolf know? She was a stranger, a naive and ignorant stranger. Though maybe not completely. The words she chose, "destroy" and "claim," immediately sent up more red flags, immediately made her more suspicious and agitated. Did this wolf know more about her than she was letting on, more that these suggestions were discreetly hinting at? It was like she knew just what to say to trigger thoughts and worries and fears in the wolf while still maintaining her air of ignorance.

Callisto's silver-blue eyes bore into Renhett as she walked away, feeling her heart beat speed in her chest and her anxiety flare up. That did not go well. She still could not decide whether this unanticipated stranger had merely been speaking generally or if she was heralding some bad fortune that was soon going to befall her inside of this new territory she had mistaken as a haven. Her eyes searched around her through the thick vegetation, frantically trying to spot any hidden figures that might have been watching the exchange while her nose worked quickly to scent the air. Nothing out of the ordinary; just her scent, Renhett's, and those of the plants they had been inspecting. She shuddered once, fighting it as best she could, before she turned and darted off toward the deeper sections of the Gulley, intent on losing the shadowy thoughts that haunted her mind.

-Exit Callisto-
