Ah, the blessed chill of the north. How she'd missed it! She'd occupied the east for several seasons and now, with the heat slowly rising, Sabine couldn't take it any longer. So she'd headed north, back to the snow and the chill and sweet sound of ice crunching underfoot.

The sudden, irresistible urge to roll in the snow overcame her and Sabine was powerless to fight it off. So she caved; rolling onto her back and letting all four paws flail wildly in the air as she ground her back into the snow. The cold gave her gooseflesh, but instead of being alarmed, Sabine was heartened. If asked she wouldn't have ever in a million years labeled herself as 'homesick' but now, with her back in the snow and the smell of winter all around...maybe it was appropriate.

The man went northward for the first time, the weather in the east too humid and he hated the random showers that seemed to fall whenever he decided to do something. He heaved a sigh, the man feeling like he didn't quite belong there, but he hoped that with a little more time...he would grow to be accepted. And if not, he would leave and find a place where he could feel more at home. And perhaps that was why he came to the north in the first place. Parts of it reminded him of the tundra where he was born. This place in particular reminded him alot of the tundra in fact. He lumbered along, almost blending with the backdrop of snow if it weren't for the minor ruby markings that splashed parts of his coat.

Perhaps he just needed some time to collect himself. Something to distract him from the whirling emotions in his head. There were some members he was pissed off with, and wanted nothing more then to bite their face...while there were others he liked, at least a little. The Starling kid was a little cute, and his shyness and stuttering only made him cuter. He paused in his thoughts for a moment when he spotted what looked like a rock in the snow, and when he narrowed his eyes a bit, he noticed it wasn't a rock but another wolf. Curiosity drew him forward, the man slowly approaching as he let out a soft bark to announce his presence...provided she hadn't seen or scented him first.

The staccato crunching and squeaking of the snow under her weight was music to Sabine's ears. It brought wonderful memories to mind; of running across the snow without fear of crashing into things because of how vast and bare the snowfields were; of sliding across the ice and getting spun in circles until she lost all sense of direction; of singing with her family over a fresh reindeer kill. No, she wasn't homesick at all.

A bark off to the side put an end to her back scratching antics. She wasn't particularly fond of being caught in such a vulnerable position, but since she was in it and she loathed the satisfaction it might give the stranger to see her scramble to her feet, Sabine remained where she was and casually let her head flop to the side so that her sightless gaze was pointed roughly in the direction of the barker. Was she just going to let it all hang out there? Sure, why not.

Nonchalantly she quirked an eyebrow at the stranger, wordlessly calling into question his sanity, as if by not rolling in the snow he was the weird one. To further drive home her point that he was the one out of place, she asked, "Yes?"
