For one of the few times in her life, Calypsei was calm and felt a sense of tranquility around her. It was strange, because this was in the middle of seeking out her friend for one of their two required training sessions. She would also need to locate the healer who had been assigned to them, hoping to learn basics to healing while she had the chance, just in case. Calypsei let out a summons for both Shaye and Tinaro, as mirth danced across her features and into the form of a smile on their maw. Her eyes were hiding back everything except a certain coldness that came with her serious face. Quelt had called her out at the meeting and given her a compliment, and she wasn’t about to become a disappointment to someone who had given a compliment. It was almost a sense of pride, but this training was different. It was her duty, and one the ocean girl was happy to oblige by. She had always told Tinaro they would spar one day, and now it was there chance to achieve what they wanted to do.

How fortunate he had been to receive the oceanic girl as his first training partner, though of course he couldn't forget about their accompanying healer of whom he knew little about. Ahead of him, he could see this new system as positively and undoubtedly beneficial for his young mind. Eventually, he'd have the opportunity to fight against every Abaven fighter and exchange tactics between them; imagine how wise and experienced he would become in the next couple seasons!

Catching sight of his friend though not the healer of whom they would wait for, ebony paws galloped his form towards the cerulean female. "Spar first?" he inquired openly, setting a distance of several metres between them and allowing a defensive stance to settle upon his bodice. "Then we can review our performance and learn some attacks or defences." At this rate, he'd be tearing open old wounds if he chose to have two fights, especially since they'd be shuffled into a new pair rather soon. Though they wouldn't be battling for their second session, it's not like he wouldn't be learning anything. There was more to being a warrior than the spars themselves, and perhaps he would keep more knowledge when he learnt it all with a trusted friend. "Your move."

2 rounds or 3? Up to you

The oceanic girl did not have to wait long for her friend to arrive, mirth dancing across her face with a smile as she remained grateful to be paired with not only a familiar wolf, but one of her two friends, for their first sparring lessons. It allowed them to gauge each other in order to learn more about each other as well as help themselves become better fighters. Theoretically, if you knew everyone’s fighting styles then you could work as a pack in things like raids or mercenary work. Tinaro arrived and he was all business, which was fine by her. “Sure.” She agreed as she set her defenses, facing him with a grin. The large femme was given the first move, and she took it with great pride as she transformed into the bubbly yet reserved friend to something she only showed in fights. Calypsei was larger than Tinaro by four inches, which the ocean girl intended to use to her advantage. She would charge forward, rushing with hackles and haunches rose along with her eyes narrowing to focus her sights. Her legs were spread apart and they evenly distributed weight while lowering her center of gravity. She was light on her paws with her ears slicked back so there was less of a mass for Tinaro to attempt to land a hit on. Her maw was pulled back in a snarl as her tail leveled with her spine to aid her in keeping her balance. Her neck was scrunched up, forming a fatty protective layer over her neck. Her head was lowered slightly to protect her chest. Tinaro was a friend, but this was a spar. Spars didn’t mean she would take it easy on him and she figured he held a similar philosophy. With a somewhat fierce snarl, she would make her moves, attempting to  drop her right shoulder, aiming to ram it into his chest where she could hopefully pull it up and maybe send him off balance with it whilst she tried to aim a bite at the top of the leg near where the leg connects to the body with her jaws which were already spread apart. The final part to her attack was trying to stomp on his left paw with her left on. When her paw lifted for the attempted attack, she redistributed the weight evenly amongst her remaining legs. Defences smoothly fell into place as they both readied themselves for the fight ahead. He lowered his head to align with his spine and straightened tail; pinned his ears to his skull to lessen the risk of getting them shredded and narrowed his gaze; positioned his limbs an even distance apart, bending them at the joint and splaying his toes; kept his weight well-distributed upon each leg; rolled his shoulders forward whilst his chin remained tucked. On his end, he happened to be four inches shorter than the girl; and just like how she wished to use her height to her advantage, so did he. There had been a time when he had won against an opponent even larger than his blue friend, and thus he remained certain that there were positives for baring a smaller size. Because of this, he hoped to be swift upon his ebony paws though equally as alert for her barrelling attacks if he was to lose his concentration, which wouldn't happen either.

Whilst she charged forwards facing him, so would he, seeking to close the distance in half the time and strides as compared to if he was to wait without movement for their impact. Before her right shoulder dropped and prepared to strike his chest, his body would nimbly pivot to his left just until they no longer faced each other directly. However, as he shifted he wouldn't able to completely dodge her right shoulder, which impacted upon the bony front of his own right shoulder, creating a moderate and potentially severe bruise in its wake. Although, he was successfully able to dodge her attempted bite and stomp as his right shoulder stood alongside her left shoulder with his forelegs away from her reach. Despite that, the other half of his body from his flanks onward was left exposed to her jaws - a risky positioning for the boy. Though without hesitation, he would attempt to ram the exterior of his right shoulder into the exterior of her left shoulder whilst his jaws would unhinge in an attempt to bite and grab ahold of her trapezius muscle [ref here], seeking to cause lacerations to the flesh.
