Starling was...excited, to say the least. It was like he had prepared for this his entire life, and in some convoluted way he had. He bounced with happy steps towards a quiet, shady place along the plains, his maw full of different kind of herbs that he carried with such tender and grace they could be the most fragile things in the world. Oh, was he ready. He would teach them all everything he knew, and he'd somehow make it fun and exciting. Somehow. Nerves coursed through him, but for once he didn't stall, didn't feel absolutely afraid. No, he actually felt...confident. With a genuine smile, he trotted towards a quiet place, finally deciding that here would be the best. Dropping his varied bundle at his paws he'd quickly look to make sure he got everything before, with one last nervous shift, he'd throw his head back to call for his fellow packmates. He called with a sense of authority he hadn't had before, calling for everyone who needed to learn to heal. The Vor, the Nerses, the Kruni and Paluni. He called for his father, aswell, wondering if he might join them for their lesson. It would be a fun one today! He hoped. Healing could be boring, he knew that, for those that didn't want to learn it. But it was exciting for him. His first lesson! Oh how exciting. (This is indeed mandatory. Sparrow heard her brother's call and came bounding onto the scene. She would be first, she had decided. If her brother was holding a meeting or a training, Sparrow would be there. Coming into the clearing, she saw her brother. She was excited and happy, but a competitive mood struck her heart. Her brother had gotten ahead of her. She couldn't let that keep happening. Her dad couldn't think one of them was more useful than the other! A small smirk rose on the girl's maw. Even if she wasn't the best healer, she still loved her brother and would respect his authority. Bounding up to him, Sparrow sought to wrap her paws around his neck and give him a big kiss on the cheek before laughing and bounding off in large, bouncy steps, "Starling is gonna teach us how to heal? Does that mean I get to play the part of the annoying little sister?" Sparrow flopped over, rolling in the dirt, a toothy smile on her face as she really worked the dirt and grass in before spinning around and shaking the loose filth from her coat, "There! I'm ready!" Sparrow sat with a thud, her tail bouncing back and forth on the ground, stirring up more dust.

"Eh?" What was this? The cuteness was calling for something? Zell paused for a minute, one paw over the river as he sought to fish today. But his plans would change quickly as he decided to answer Starlings howl. The pair had offered to teach each other some things, and since Zell would teach him some fighting techniques which was something he liked to do, he opted to learn Starlings trade and learn healing. So he wouldn't miss out on this. He was a man of his word no matter what mood he was in, and though he wasn't a healer it would do no harm to learn in case of emergency. He wouldn't be first to arrive however. A girl, a very excited looking one at that, was sitting down and looked..kinda dirty. He refrained from commenting, only smirking slightly as Starling came into view. Moving towards him a bit to sit off a little to the side, he offered a friendly smile at what was his only friend in the pack...so far, at least. "What's up, buttercup?" He laughed a bit, humor twinkling in his clear blue eyes. "Talk"

She'd hear a familiar voice, and she'd freeze; she knew that voice oh so well - it was Starling, and he was demanding all healers to come to him. She was no healer, but that did not matter to her in the least; she was already off and heading towards the healer. With eyes sparkling, shed trot in, sparing hardly a glance for the red masked man; she nodded to him and Sparrow, but her attention was on Starling, delight in her eyes at seeing him, especially that confident posture.

Tail wagging, she resisted the urge to greet him personally and just plopped down in front of him, eying the piles of herbs he had in front of him. She grinned up at him, pride shimmering in her eyes. "Excited?" she teased. It was obvious the healer was, and as she was with the hunt - before it fell to pieces and she picked it back up - this was his chance.

Kassander had been somewhat at a loss as to how to begin. He wasn't a part of the pack, and the only wolf he'd ever taught anything had been Integra and he'd only seen her a couple times before she had gone away. He didn't even know how to start teaching a large group of wolves, and the thought made him uncomfortable. All the progress he'd made from being an alpha had fallen away when he'd gotten Sigmarr killed - the idea of taking that leadership role once more was terrifying. But he needed to fulfill his promise to Bass to teach his healers... Yet before he could work up the courage to call for the strangers, a voice he didn't know called the healers together for training. Flustered, Kassander fluffed his coat up and stared in the direction of the voice. Bass already had someone doing training? But hadn't he said that they didn't have a fully trained healer to do training? Disconcerted and somewhat deflated, the auburn male followed the call to a small group - a few yearlings and a young adult. His gaze shivered between them, trying to decide who had called the meeting so he could offer his help if they needed... but instead he just seated himself in silence, unable to pinpoint the caller, and shrank into himself. Rommel, always loyal, always present, brushed his side comfortingly as the fox took a seat next to him, and Kassander brushed his cheek to the smaller vulpine's in gratitude. He was certain that this, living in a pack not his own, surrounded by strangers, would have been impossible if the fox hadn't been there with him. ""

The work of clearing a den large enough for more than one wolf and a cache of herbs to occupy would be exhausting work even for a healthy wolf. Even with a generous sprinkling of breaks and a lot of water, Harmony was feeling weak and ached terribly this morning when she awoke, and the den was barely large enough for her to curl up in by herself still. Slowly, she was chipping away at the nearly insurmountable task when Starling's voice called out for the healers to gather for training. Good, she was more than ready for a break from moving dirt. A smile curved her muzzle at the sound - she was so proud of Starling, so very proud. He'd been so shy and nervous when he was younger, she was so happy to see that he'd come out of his shell and gained some confidence in his abilities. Carefully cleaning herself of the dirt, she moved to answer his call with a much neater appearance. Her gaze took in both Starling and Sparrow, and she sent the girl a warm smile. She was glad to see the girl's interest in healing, but even more she was happy to see how close Bass' pups seemed to be. "Sparrow, Starling, it is good to see you both. And who is your friend?" she added, casting a glance at the youth their age who had been speaking excitedly with Starling when she'd approached, and was startled for a moment. The girl was nearly the spitting image of Mirabelle Tavros, and nearly the same age Mira had been when she and Harmony had met. It was not, of course, Mira, but the resemblance was quite startling, and the spark of recognition was clear. The two adults who had appeared earned a measuring glance and a welcoming smile as well, though she did not know either of them and the one seemed to bear a different pack's scent. That one she kept a more... wary eye on. She did not know how he came to be here, but he did not act like a trespasser. ""

Shai focused mainly on the hunting aspect of his rank, providing for his family had become his highest priority despite what he'd been through in the south. For the majority of his life he had strove to be the guardian, the protector of their goddesses prophetess. The skills needed had been honed at one time. He knew the basics of medical treatment as well as being proficient in fighting. Both skills liked to remind him of his failure in competition with his brother, but he knew that he would have to use them when he took the rnk to begin with. So quietly the giant would make his way towards Starling's call, on his way though he'd make a stop at the den. Making the last minute decision to take Vail along.

She hadn't expressed any interest in a particular field of expertise, and he hoped that the experience might help her to decide what she wished to focus on. Also so he could focus more heavily upon her interest and not so much his own avoidance of practicing his craft. He felt alright being a teacher, it had been easy sparring with young Shrike because they were in a learning situation. He hoped the same rang true for this little lesson.

The pair would slowly make their way to the group, keeping back just a little Shai would nuzzle Vail encouragingly as they awaited instruction.

Vail had been resting in the shade outside of the den she still shared with her parents, her life was relatively simple and quiet. She never had to worry about anything more than how much her dad might tickle her when he got home from hunting. While physically there was nothing she need worry about, food, water, love.. she had all of it, she was completely uncertain about her future. She hadn't really said anything about that to anyone but her father, but he had a way of dragging her secrets out of her like her mother didn't know how. He'd disturb her now, nudging her softly as she tried to return to her sleep after barely registering Star's call. She would have completely ignored it had her father not asked her to come along with him. He didn't often ask her to do many tasks, but when he did she knew very well that she should obey without question. Silently she'd follow him, she knew Abaven perfectly by now, and wouldn't even have to use him as a guide to get where they were going. She'd still follow the sound of his footsteps though. As they arrived she'd take in the scents of those already gathered, finding herself much more curious than she thoughts she would have been she'd lean back onto her haunches beside her giant father as she awaited the lesson with him. Starling did not have to wait long, as was expected at these things. Unsurprisingly the first to arrive was the oddly hyper Sparrow. He would smile softly at her, nodding his head. "Y-yeah im t-teaching…but n-no y-you cant b-be annoying" he teased before she flopped over. With a roll of his eyes, he stood up and stepped towards her, moving to place a paw on her chest. "W-we c-can pl-play af-after." He said with a grin, trying to be calm. This was his first lesson after all! And while he did appreciate her antics to help him calm down, he didnt want to disrupt what should be good learning. When Zell arrived Starling would move back to where he had been sitting, smiling at his new and unlikely friend. He hoped Lillianna wouldnt be upaet with this development, but he doubted it. Abaven was about family, and, like he had said before, it was better to have the "faceeaters" of the world on your side than against you. Not that Zell was a face eater, but he certainly did seem to say somethings that could hurt. "W-whats the s-story, morning g-glory?" He said with a grin, laughing softly to himself before looking up as Lillianna trotted in. He would grin brightly at her, nodding his head as he answered her simple question. Of course he was excited! What else would he be when given a chance like this? But before he could greet her as well, a stranger came in, one that smelt enough like Abaven that he didnt feel any fear towards him, but not enough to dispel all of his caution. So he just smiled in greeting, glad that an adult was coming to train with him! With a bright grin, he turned his attention to Harmony, tilting his head as she asked who his friends were. "A-aunt Harmony! W-welcome! Th-this is my b-best fr-friend, Lilianna, a-and m-my new f-friend Zell." He said, motioning with his head to each wolf he mentioned. He would smile to Shai and Vail then, as they came in, before he turned his head to search for anyone else. Where were his brothers (or brother, lark probably wouldn't come). Where was Shaye and his father? There had to be more...right? (This is just to break up the greetings a tad so i dont have to post a novel. The young man was late, not exactly something common for the energetic little brute. Shrike would breathe in, coming to the meeting with his ears perked slightly. His ankle was doing a lot better, thanks to Starling’s care. He had hung back from going all out at the hunt. But he was here at least, where he should be. He’d rather learn from no one else, save for maybe his aunt Harmony now that she was back, about herbs. Sitting down Shrike would give a quiet nod towards his brother. He tried to smile, try to seem like he was happy, but the young man was missing Allen. It wasn’t the same going to training under Lillie instead of the older man. But Shrike would do his best to grin and bear it. “So, learning time hm?” He asked, putting on a smile. He was glad to see that Sparrow was there as well. If only Finch was too. Lark would be a nice surprise to have here, but Shrike had his doubts his other brother would show. Was this about it then? "Speech"

Healer training! That was an exciting prospect, she was gaining rapidly in her knowledge and knew a chance to learn from others could only broaden her horizons. She would come to find Shai and Vail already there and marched over to her family to give them both a big sloppy kiss, grinning mischievously at them both. After greeting them however she made her way over to Lillie and sat next to her friend, nudging Lille and smiling but saying nothing as she tilted her head and waiting politely to see where the training would lead them. She hadn't seen much of Starling but this just reminded her how great it would be to bounce ideas of Star and learn from each other, she would have to catch him after this meeting for a chat!
