Little Lion Man
Cypress would rise later than planned that morn. He had been up late into the night, thinking about his family. Aithusa had showed up for a time, only to disappear from Alacritia just as Laria had. It was heartbreaking, truthfully, but what could be done? But while Cy had been down about those he had lost, he was also counting his blessing in having Sonticus for a family. He had his beloved mate, five children, and a pack of wolves who could work together. What more comfort could there be in life?
He would stretch as he left the den, going for a walk around their new lands today. He was hoping that he might run into one of his children. It felt like, no matter how he tried, he just couldn’t spend enough time with them. Plus he was meant to be training his daughter as well. Ahhh how time flew. It seemed to slip past with just the blink of an eye.

Rivaxorus would wag his tail quickly, he was growing into a fine young man at least his mother had told him that. As he dropped the goose at his father's paws. "I caught this dad, wanted to show it to someone but you were the only one around." he laughed falling down to his haunches. As much as he loved his siblings, he didn't know what kind of things bothered his mother or father. He didn't quiet know the devilish things they had to go through yet either. In his heart he knew he wanted to protect them.
Cypress would march on, until a very happy Riv came up to him holding a most wondrous prize. A goose was clenched firmly between his jaws as he approached, only to be dropped at Cy’s feet. The man would let a smile cross his face, and he would let his bi-colored gaze lift to his son. He wasn’t sure how he should feel about the “only one around” comment, but for the time being at least Cy would let it slide. He hardly wanted to start a fight with his son.
“That’s a fine catch, my son!” Cypress would say happily. He would lean towards his boy, giving a gentle nuzzle to his shoulder. “You’re getting so much bigger... Heck, It’s hard to believe you were once such a small puppy.” Cy would chuckle some. “Any special occasion for the goose, or just practicing?”
"Speech"
"Are you hungry?" Riv would ask as he nuzzled the carcass towards his father. Nothing would make him happier then to see his dad eat something he had caught. There was no use forcing though if he didn't want to eat anything. Maybe Riv should have left the goose's soul be, he didn't want to end up killing needlessly. After all, being alive was wonderful, so what else could they do with themselves. He still didn't totally understand, but he was determined that he would learn that was for sure.
Cypress would give a small nod as Riv said that he was just practicing at first, though it was a waste to leave it. He had to agree -- hunting for sport was not something the man liked to do himself. He believed all creatures had a life and a purpose, so taking it just for sport seemed... Wrong. But Cy had to admit he was proud of his son, truly, for catching such a creature on his own. Geese could be ill tempered, and not such an easy kill.
Not wanting his son to worry about having wasted a life Cypress chose his next answer carefully. “Now that you mention it I have a bit of a rumbling in my gut. We certainly can’t let this fine catch go to waste, right?” Cy would tilt his head to the side slightly. “Why don’t we both have some and continue to talk? Food always tastes better with a good conversation to go with it.”
"Speech"
"I always come across this weird feeling that I should be helping more than I am." he might have been young but he was smart. Already had a personality started to bloom under that cranium. It didn't help about his size compared to his siblings. Of course Rivaxorus was worried about his mother, what child wouldn't. After all Arian seemed so fragile it just made him have the urge to tie her to a tree and not let her go.
Cypress would lower his head, taking a bite of the goose. It was quite a bit of feathers, but once you got over that, well, the meat was rather tasty. He would flick his ears slightly as Riv asked a question, feeling his heart clench slightly. “Everything has been well enough I suppose. I’m just... A little worried for your mother. I don’t like that she’s been out on her own for so long.” He’d let his gaze focus on the kill, even as Riv spoke again.
He would shake his head slightly, a small smile forming on his lips. “No Riv, you don’t need to feel like that. You’ve done plenty enough for the family already. Besides, you got to enjoy your youth while you still have it after all.” The male would say gently. “So don’t you worry about the pack. Us adults have it handled, alright?”
"Speech"
"Right...." Rivaxorus would just take the adults having it handled. After all, he had to concentrate on his own training. Training for a job he didn't want, but wouldn't express that out loud. They needed him, and he wanted to be needed. To take away the pain that others felt, he would give anything to have his comfortable life traded for that. At least, he thought it was comfortable.
Cypress would give a small nod to his son when he spoke. While he could understand that, he couldn’t help but worry. He’d sigh, letting his gaze wander towards the direction of the den he and Arian shared. She was a special part of him, and hell, Cypress would do anything for the fae. If she asked him too he’d go hunt Sin down today and tear him apart. But now was not the time for that. He’d breathe in, flicking his ears forward, and returned his gaze to his son.
“But you know Riv, there is something that you can do especially for the pack that us adults might not have the most time for. Sometimes we get caught up so much in the things we have to do that we might neglect caring a little for the younger members. Allen’s children might need a little guidance in this pack. Perhaps you could help them with that.” Cy would offer a gentle smile. “Could I trust you with that task, Riv?”
"Speech"
"I can do that - you can trust me." Rivaxorus answered with a smile, wagging his tail back and forth. One task he didn't ever want to fail at that was for sure. "If you need help with anything dad just let me know." He nodded his head. Even if it was something maybe he couldn't handle just yet. If he didn't learn now, when was he ever going to?
