 to an even better place

The vulture was still trying to get used to flying in this place. There were so many wolf packs, she wanted to start familiarizing herself with the wildlife. She wouldn't do anything to hurt them unless they provoked her first of course. However, in the midst of her thoughts she had come close to the border of one of these said wolf packs. Flying in a circle, she finally landed close to the border. Holding her breath before letting it out, that had been a close one. They would've tried to rip her to shreds if she had tried to cross that scent line.

"Uhmm.... Hello! Any wolfies here?" she called out, considering she could call out or howl like these doggies. However she was curious, what kinds of life style did they leave. Also.... she wanted to bring them a gift so she needed to find out what they liked. Flamie smiled, maybe this would be the first pack she'd make a deal with. Happily so she clicked her beak together as a display of joy.

The sound of the call echoed across the land, and his ears perked at the oddness of it. What on earth was that? It sounded nothing like a wolf, it was more... well he couldn't even place it. It reminded him of his daughters finch's voice, there was something very bird like about it. Curious, as well as wary, he slunk towards his borders, golden eyes blazing. It was then that he saw the bird, massive as she stood on his pack lines. His hackles rose, fear coursing through him before he pushed it away. That was one very, very large bird. He had never seen anything like it before, and his entire body froze. What did this creature want? She was big enough to easily take him on, and Bass wasn't sure how nice a mouthful of feathers would be anyways. But she had asked for them, and stopped at their border as well, instead of just entering. Mmm, curious.

Bass let out a gruff bark, alerting the bird to his approach. "I didn't know that birds spoke wolf. Or that they knew the workings of packs." He said. His pale tail crooked behind him, an obvious sign of dominance in his posture. "But yes, there are any wolves here. Now... what exactly are you?" the Azat asked, his head tilting to the side as he studied her massive form. He was still wary, he knew that that beak could do quite the damage when used right.

 to an even better place

Sure enough Mr.Wolfie was kind enough to appear. Suddenly the Vulture puffed herself up, feathers outstretched and she just looked like a giant fluffball of feathers. However settling down again she tried to let the excitement run it's course. Laughing, she moved back and forth on her claws until he was done talking. She didn't want to be impolite. "I learned with so many canine's back home, but I do not know how packs work. I just know territory, since we have the same thing. I was just about to fly above your airspace. I wanted to apologize for getting so close." she said as she pulled her shoulders up. Her first talk with an important wolf was rather exciting.

"A Bearded Vulture. Hmmm..... with that, maybe we could talk about something? You wolves have lots of bones right? What do you like as trade for those. Sometimes I might be able to give you shiny gifts... if you like that sorta thing." crap. Maybe she was being too annoying. Finally she shut her beak and stood up straight of course her height bigger than his even if he was wider. Her tail feathers spread out, she certainly hoped she wasn't stepping out of bounds. Flamie was just excited. "My name is Flamie."

There was something almost child like about the way that the bird spoke, with a hardly concealed excitement that made him relax somewhat. He couldn't help but chuckle as she said that she had almost flown over his air space. "Birds fly over head all the time, we can't exactly claim airspace." he said softly, coming a bit closer to the utterly massive bird. "There is no need to apologize, although I do appreciate you coming down here to talk to me." First his daughter's finch friend and now this massive bird, both speaking and understanding wolf language. It was very strange indeed, and the pale man had no doubt that this would be the last talking animal he will meet.

The bird told him that she was a bearded vulture, and he nodded as he eyed her carefully. He had heard about vultures before, they were mostly carrion birds, eating the left overs of their hunts. They weren't ones to hunt live prey, although at the sheer size of her she could certainly try. But Bass had a feeling that she wasn't here for that, after all she had stopped to come and talk to him. His ears perked at the mention of some sort of deal, she wanted their bones in trade for... shiny things? "What kind of items are we talking about?" he asked. They never really used their bones, they usually just went to the younger ones to chew on or scattered about their land. There was no harm at all in getting something useful in return to getting rid of a bit of clutter. She moved on and introduced herself as Flamie, and he dipped her head to her again. "My name is Bass Destruction."

Man she was glad that he wasn't hostile. So many other wolves could've snapped at her within a moments notice because of her attitude. Then again, most birds were like this even if she wasn't aware of that herself. He introduce himself dipping his head, it must have been some sort of wolf greeting. Flamie would keep that in mind since their body language was so different. Her tail feathers would fluff up with excitement. She had never made a trade with a pack before! "Anything you want, herbs, objects, small prey. I can bring it to you in exchange for bones. I'm not much of a fighter either but if you needed aid in spying or anything I'm open for that." the thought of being a eye in the sky seemed almost like a dream.

Flamie didn't know how this worked exactly, but she was smarter than she acted that was for certain. If this went well here, maybe she would try speaking with the other packs. After this though, she would be more concentrating on finding a nice pool and a new territory to live in. The navigator had to explore these places more and more to get used to airspace she was now living in.

Mm, she did pose an interesting bargain. Bass knew that Starling was always out looking for herbs, and perhaps this bird could get to some a lot easier than a wolf could. Maybe he should call Starling here to this meeting, he knew a lot more about the plants than he could ever dream of knowing. Plus, the brown and white boy seemed to be very skilled at collecting different types of trades, and had a better idea of what they needed. He blinked his golden eyes for a moment, before he tipped back his head and let out a howl for Starling. When his song came to an end, he smiled at Flamie. "I hope you don't mind, I called my son here to meet us. He has a lot better idea on herbs and other things." The spying was up to him though, and something that he wouldn't soon forget. Wolves could be tracked by their scent on the ground, a trace left on the earth that they could not erase. But from the sky, well that would be a heck of a lot harder to trace. It would be all based on sight, and what was suspicious about a bird flying over head? "I will keep you in mind for spying though, Flamie. What would be the best way to call for you? Do you understand how wolves call for each other?"

Proud. Michevious. Damn bird
ooc: - sticks another reply in -

Flamie tilted her heads, so they howled just like the other birds let out their annoying little calls. Bearded Vulture's were quiet usually, considering everything was highly on their sense of sight. However she had heard a lot of howling when she flew around. Her ears were good at well, and with such powerful calls it was hard to ignore them. She clicked her beak for a moment, shifting so that she wasn't standing in one place for such a long time. "You could try howling, I don't entirely understand but you call each other that way right!" She spread out her huge wings for a moment.

"Maybe you can howl for me right now I can remember that it's a call for me pretty easily." she folded her wings again. Flamie didn't think it'd be this easy. She was kind of glad her species lived off of bone marrow. She remembered having to hunt before, she hated it. Carrying an animal in her feet and dropping them. Shivering at the thought, she'd rather leave the killing to wolves. She would rather be bitten to death then drop from a large height.
