Darkness. This place was as dim and dull as it got. He'd never seen a place like this, and he felt as though he'd stumbled into a haven made just for him. It was delightfully grim. It just needed a few personal touches and it would be just like home. Perhaps what would make it better would be a corpse strewn on the doorstep to discourage unwanted intruders. Maybe a touch of prey bones scattered strategically. He nodded to himself as he looked around at the strange, dark cavern. The vegetation was unusual, and thinly growing. He could hear the skittering of small creatures, ones that thrived in the darkness and solitude. Rats, most likely. Indeed, this dungeon would be suitable as a permanent residence.
He'd come as far as the tunnels, but hadn't gone down any of them yet. He could leave that for later, once he'd gotten more familiar with his surroundings. He would pace around the main cavern, taking in the scents, wondering if anyone had been here recently. It didn't seem likely, but one never knew. He couldn't be the only deranged soul looking for somewhere dark and reclusive to tuck himself away in. What else would he find in this place, besides the rats?
