Pale gray paws carried him out toward the battlefield with a little bit of hesitation. It wasn't so much that he dreaded sparring, even though it still wasn't one of his favorite activities. He almost felt a little guilty for deciding to do so when his mother was due to have her pups any minute now. He knew he'd never hear the end of it from Amalia if he came home hurt while she was busy taking care of his new siblings. He was sure Arivae wouldn't like it too much either. But, at the same time, they were the reason he was coming out here in the first place. He was pretty much convinced he was never going to see his brothers again and he noticed there were very few real fighters in Fiori. With his mother out of commission for the foreseeable future, he knew he needed to step up and practice his skills so he could help protect them.

His large paws crunched through the snow slowly as he padded across the mostly barren landscape. His mismatched eyes were on the look out for anyone that he might could spar with, all the while trying to remember everything his mother had taught him.

The man's paws were itching for something to do, for someone to challenge his skills once again. He needed to better himself, it was all he ever sought to do. He needed to work his muscles, feel the burn, and practice the movements he would require in order to defend himself and fight for victory in whatever endeavors he chased in the future. What better place to find a sparring partner than the battlefield? Every other wolf would be looking for the same opportunity.

It was with great enthusiasm that he found himself a potential partner. Claws digging into the snow, he rushed toward the dark-coated man with the mismatched eyes. Xephyris came to a bounding halt about ten feet in front of the other, his posture tall and shoulders squared, tail waving high challenge. "I'd be much obliged to test your limits, stranger," he rumbled, eagerness clear in his body, his tone, even his cold silver eyes. He wondered if the other was just as eager.
