Monochromatic hues swept over the land as Taia ventured forth. Emerald eyes carefully took in her surroundings, demanding to learn the area. She was fresh to the lands and the wolves who lived there, not that the fact was a bad thing. It gave her a fresh outlook – more things to learn, wolves to meet. There were more lands to explore, and unlike the harsh north she originated from… more food to hunt.
Scents were rich, food a plenty compared to the potions she was used to. Perhaps it was that curiosity that had brought her so close to the water’s edge. She was careful to keep her shadow off of the edge, a paw hovering above land as she eyed the fish squirming around.
There was a sly smile as her paws slammed into the water, catching the tail of a fish with her paws. Her moth went under, pushing oxygen out of her nose to keep water from pushing into it as her mouth gripped the fish and pulled it out of the water.
She gave her face a quick shake, droplets falling to the ground, as her teeth clenched against it, drawing it’s last bit of life from it as it fell limp. Satisfaction hinted at her features as she sat by the basin, intent on devouring the snack as her stomach let out a light rumble of anticipation. The only thing missing for the social wolf was company.
