Locha Elementas

Well, having her paws dry for once was oddly a relief. It felt weird; to be so at ease, even if it was with family, when she was away from her element. It had been a rough few days, setting up camp in the prairie while their beach was completely submerged. It was quite the phenomenon, so different from their sea's usual gradual rise and fall. Locha could only guess that the melting of the winter snow all over the continent , plus the spring rain brought this upon them. If she wasn't feeling the guilt of being unprepared or the worry of the future, she would have seen it in a different light. It truly was amazing, and yet another reminder of what a powerful force water could be.

She sat a little ways away from her family, staring out over the water. She could feel the dying rays off the sun on her back and the murmuring voices of her family behind her. She could feel herself relax as she sat. It wouldn't be long until the moon rose of the waters of their beach.
It was so weird not being down there. Soon she'd have to go down and investigate, try and estimate the flood damage. But she couldn't do anything just now. For now she could enjoy the moonrise.

It was a weird feeling to have her entire family around her. Some of them had found some nocks and crannies for privacy, but she could still hear the murmur of their voices, and of those closer to her she could hear the occasional light snore. Daddy was one of the worst for that, when he slept a certain way he sounded like a hurricane (or what she imagined a hurricane sounded like) and yet it wasn't a terrible or disturbing sound, it was oddly comforting and it meant she knew exactly where he was when she slept.

She wheedled her way ouit of her mothers side so she could sneak through the sleeping bodies of all her Aunt and Uncles (did everyone have so many aunties and uncles or was that a Donostrea thing?) she wanted to see the strange ocean thing that had eaten their beach. It was still dark, and it was hard to see much so perhaps it was the wrong time to decide that this is what she wanted to do and that she had to do it now. Oh well.

She was lucky to find Locha there, she would be less likely to get into trouble if she was with an Auntie. “Auntie, what are you looking at?” she asked as she settled onto the ground beside the woman, placing herself a step away so she wasn't brushing fur with the other woman.

Locha Elementas

Locha wasn't alone long before she heard the rustle that came with walking through the wet grass. From the lightness of the steps, it could only be one of three people. Gale, or either of her two nieces. A smile spread on the woman's face as she lifted her head. Her niece Seraphiel sat down beside her. As Locha's blue eyes looked at the girl, she could already tell that she'd definitely inherited at least some of Glace's height, never mind just the colours of her markings. Already the girl was so all for her age. Briefly her mind wondered what her two other nieces looked like now, but she shook those thoughts out as her Sera niece spoke.
“Auntie, what are you looking at?” Locha looked out over the water again, just as Ray was. She chuckled a little. Her niece probably wasn't even supposed to be out here at this time of night, but Locha remembered what it was like to be a pup and wouldn't reprimand her. Anyway, she knew first hand what the sound of Glaciers snoring was like.
"Right now, not much. But in a few minutes, the moon will rise just over the water." she said, keeping her voice low so as not to disturb the slumbering family members behind them. Glancing over at her niece, she smiled. "Have you ever seen a moonrise before?"

She might not know all her aunties and uncles by sight yet but she was successful (she hoped) in identifying locha. She was the only one with duel tones eyes and here she was beside the water looking for all the world like she belonged. She was glad that her auntie didn't seem to mind her presence, certainly she gave no sign to indicate otherwise. More so, she also didn't look like she was about to cart ray back off to bed. That alone raised her opinion of her auntie. Of course, anyone that helped her get out of (or into) trouble was great in her books.

Locha would chuckle and Ray would only beam at her, even if she was uncertain what exactly she found amusing - perhaps it was obvious that ray had sneaked out of her mother's arms to be here. "No I've never. Is it pretty?" She wanted to know, bending her neck just about backwards to look at the sky directly above her as through searching for the moon locha spoke about. She had seen the moon before of course, but only briefly and certainly never seen it rise. No, in fact, she had seen the light of the moon and not the moon itself, she hadn't been allowed outside the den until the flooding.
