The fun Uncle
Sleep was boring, but comfortable, when she could find it in her to embrace it. It had been a great surprise when Astrea had volunteered to watch her in the nights she couldn't sleep but she knew her parents would rather a more stable sleeping pattern for her. Of course, that didn't mean she liked it. The sudden commotion, well startling and a little scary was a welcome distraction. She had been sleeping only lightly and was quick to waken, blinking her eyes open as Voltage charged into the den, and hustled their mother from their arms. She blinked, opening her mouth to complain, when she caught the smile on Voltage's lip, and his spoken desire for time with her and her sister. He was kicking their mother from the den, and their was definite mischief in his eyes.
Her curiosity raised, she waited until she was sure her mother was gone before she opened her eyes wide, showing her Uncle how utterly awake she was as she moved to stand at his side. “Psst. Uncle” she whispered loudly, but secretively. “Are you breaking us out?” she wanted to know.
Voltage grinned so brightly when he peaked out the den and watched Ani follow the trail. Yes! The plan was in motion. He felt absolutely no guilt in distrupting her sleep, not over this, and the pups, well, they could get back to sleep if they really wanted too. Or they could play. You know, which ever. At Seraphiel's little voice, he would turn to look at her, smirking knowingly at her wide awake face. There was no way she had been too deeply asleep when Voltage had come running in. He sat down near the entrance of the den, tilting his head to his little nieces. It was amazing to think that just a season ago these little girls didn't exist. He hoped Illie and Current would meet them one day. Clearing his throat he smirked a bit. "I guess I may be." He said with a chuckle, stretching out to lay on his belly so his paws landed on either side of the girls. He knew of Sera's sleeping patterns, she was a lot like him. Hopefully her energy would disappear with time, and she wouldn't suffer from sporadic insomnia like he did. But she was a curious pup, and perhaps that's what jolted her awake, like his energy. It would wear off eventually. "It's barely morning. Do you wanna have an adventure." He said with a mischevious grin, a light in his eyes. "Burn Baby Burn" |

Sleep happened to actually be one of Aurora's favorite things - one of only a few on a very short list. Bundled between a restful sister and a cozy mother, there was nowhere else the sleepy blue pup wanted to be, and even unconscious her expression was content, peaceful, even happy. There was no telling how long she might have slept had her uncle decided not to barge into her family's den to wake them all much earlier than normal.
Her mother's motions woke her immediately, earning a mumbled but plaintive whine in protest. Did she have to move around so much? And so quickly? Blinking back the bleariness of her golden eyes, Rory quickly realized things were not as they usually were within the den during the morning hours, noting the absence of her father and the unexpected presence of her uncle, who was presently ushering her mother out of the den despite apparent protests. Her brows rose over widening eyes as she watched her mother be forcibly pushed from the den while her uncle stood grinning in her place, and immediately her tail began to wag at a frantic rate. This was the most exciting morning ever!
Stumbling in her haste, the blue pup pushed herself awkwardly to her paws and glanced between Seraphiel and Voltage with a wide grin, only half hearing the conversation that was taking place and barely letting any of it register. Something fun was going to happen, she was sure of it, just as sure as she was that she had a tail - which she promptly peeked over her shoulder to make sure was still attached. Still there, and still wagging! Excitedly, Rory spun her head back around to regard both her sibling and her uncle with a wide grin, lowering her front half in a play bow that expressed her own excitement and willingness to participate in whatever it was they were planning.
His answer was more of a question then a statement, but it was enough of an affirmative to boost her spirits. She grinned wide and did a little prance on the spot. This was the best night ever! She didn't even have to sneak out and find amusement, for once amusement had found her. She barely glanced in the direction Anais had vanished, knowing her parents would be totally fine if Voltage's bright grin was anything to go by. Could every night be like this one? She wondered if she could convince Voltage to bail her out of family sleep more often.
When Volt asked if they wanted an adventure she cast her eyes over to Roar. She was excited and eager as well, and that was all the confirmation Ray needed. She turned back to Volt and nodded her head eagerly. “Of course ” she said with enthusiasm, so he would know without a doubt that she would never ever turn down an adventure. hint, hint, rescue me whenever you want she thought excitedly. She took a step towards her sister and nudged the others shoulder, grinning and nudging her head towards the outside world, letting her know their plans for adventuring.
