I READ THEM ALL ONE DAY
when loneliness came and you were away

It wasn't often that the woman was awake during the day. Generally she slept most of the day away, arising when the sky began to grow dark. While it wasn't morning, or even midday, Caeli was rarely seen when the sun was up. It was only a few hours before dusk when a very groggy female nearly tripped over her paws as she headed to the beach. Blinking her sleepy orange eyes, the purple and star marked woman paused when she saw a somewhat flat rock. The one advantage to being up now was the warmth. Pulling her long limbed form onto the sun baked rock, a soft sigh leaving her lips. This time of day held the perfect heat, noon would be far too hot for the nocturnal wolf. The warm stone provided a nice temperature for her black belly, the remaining heat of the day pounding on her purple marked back. Caeli hummed to herself, resting her head on her front limbs. Her tail curled around to her side, and she wiggled her form until she was comfortable. Looking up towards the sun, she had to squint her eyes against its brightness. She let out a groan, turning her head so that it was hidden under her tail. Maybe she should just return to her den...

It was so warm The sand felt absolutely wonderful on her little white-tipped toes. On top of that, there was little to trip on, so Cirry simply walked on, using her nose to navigate. The water was to the left of her; the salt-scent was strongest. Behind her and a little ways was the den... which meant... a few more pawsteps to the right would be... the rocks. She took a few more slow, cautious steps, until she felt her paw bump against something. Grinning, she stuck out a paw and searched for the little handhold she had found earlier - oh, where was it? There was some way up these rocks. Did she misjudge where she'd end up? She backed her side against the rocks and walked forward with her fur brushing the side, little paw seeking out the handhold. Oh, where was it? Growling in annoyance, and completely oblivious to Caeli's presence, Cirrus sped up her movements, trying to find a way up.

I READ THEM ALL ONE DAY
when loneliness came and you were away

She didn't even know that the girl was there, not until her little growl sounded. Blinking her eyes open, she untucked her head from her tail. She couldn't even see her at first, since she wasn't looking down. That is when she heard the shuffling of paws, and her orange eyes found Cirrus, looking like she was trying to find her way up the rock. She hadn't seemed to have noticed her either, unless she was simply ignoring her. The tired woman stared at the pup for a moment before a soft chuckle left her lips. Poor child was just trying to get on top of the stone. Clearing her throat to make herself known, she bent down to nuzzle the top of her head. She had not yet met this girl, but she knew from her scent and age that she was from Voltage's new litter. Her brother had told her of them, and putting two and two together she knew that it was Cirrus who was at her paws. "I am going to pick you up, Cirrus, she said softly, letting the girl know what was going to happen before she just grabbed her and scared her. Grabbing the girl's scruff softly between her jaws, she lifted her and placed her on the rock next to her left leg. Careful to make sure that she was steady on her paws before letting her go, Caeli left her to her own devices. "Hello little one, I am auntie Caeli," she told her, placing her head on her paws so that the girl could smell her and touch her face if she wished.
