Tornach had set out confidently towards the east with Aiden to add to his meager store of herbs he knew how to use, but it didn't take him long to realize - all the best lands towards this direction were taken by packs. He'd had to go days out of his way to find one that was useful to him. He'd passed a dangerous briar patch that he didn't want to risk entering to gather herbs, skirted past two packs and finally wound up here, now frustrated and wishing very much that he'd stuck with the moorlands and the estuary despite their drawbacks. Still, now that he was here this wasn't so bad. Aiden - who had molted her broken feathers between spring and the start of summer and had grown enough new ones to be useful to her - was circling overhead on the thermals rising from the big dark river while he searched the riverside for familiar herbs. He'd found a couple he recognized from his time spent memorizing Zuriel's stores but didn't know what they did - one, had he known the name, was fennel, and the other motherwort, and he'd found some mint (which he did know) in the shade of a willow tree. Four herbs, two he didn't know how to use, in exchange for a days-long trek across the continent. He sighed. At least he'd found a few big leaves to wrap the herbs and willowbark in to make them easier to carry. Deciding it was as good a time as any to take a break, he stretched his dark, tall form out in the sun to watch Aiden's circling flight and enjoy the warmth of the golden sunlight.

The dark brute smelled the scent of the water that cascaded through the lands as some dry leaves would crunch underneath his paws. His nostrils flared with all the different scents, due to the fact his vision was failing him. However, his one good eye could make out color, but it was rather blurry and his other eye, he knew, was gone for good. Prey would be heard nearby, but he would not take the chance of smacking into a tree or getting himself hurt again due to a prey animal. However, he would hunt of he could. A sigh escaped the large brute's maw as his paws dug into the earth as he stretched and looked around. He would give a small yawn and lie down upon the ground.

"Damn, it is rather boring being alone like this," he would think as he looked upward to the sky, giving a small sigh, "I'm sorry Sol...as well as you Ki...I couldn't protect you both," he would say quietly but barely audible. A few tears would run down his one good eye as he closed it and just took in the different scents to try and calm his mind as best as he could.
