The meeting hadn't taken long to get underway. Two promotions were given out, for Faite and Miksa, and he was pleased they both got the ranks they wanted. He was no longer surprised to see that Castiel wasn't there but it was still a disappointment when Surreal announced him missing. He knew the pain of not knowing where a family member was and she had his condolences. Soon though she announced sparring partners and he was a bit surprised to see he'd be paired up with Baine. He looked to the girl and he wasn't exactly pleased with the match up. How was he supposed to spar with Surreal's youngest daughter? He could train her... but inflicting pain on her was going to be a whole new matter.

The thoughts tumbled around in his head as he stepped away from the rest of the group, his tail flicking back and forth behind him, as he motioned with his head for Baine to follow him. He found a good flat open space and then stopped and turned to stare at the girl trying to find out how he was going to do this. This would be a good experience for both of them. Her to learn and for him.... well he'd figure out how to spar with someone he didn't want to spar with. This was going to suck. Well not really but he wasn't going to enjoy this as much as some others might.

Báine had tried her best to be chipper as she padded away from the meeting group with Creed even though his bothered expression still tugged at her. She had been excited to spar with him since he was one of the few members in the pack besides her family that she knew fairly well and she had enjoyed learning from him before, but he didn't seem as pleased to be paired up with her. She forced the smile to remain on her muzzle as they turned to face each other once they had gotten to their own area. She looked to her mentor hopefully and a bit nervously. Her mother had taught her and Tor the basics, but she had never really sparred with anyone like this. She had only tumbled with her brother as a pup. She really wanted to do a good job for Creed though to prove she could be a good partner for him.

Focusing on the learning and challenge aspect of it rather than the worry that she would disapoint him, she got down into the defenses Surreal had taught her. Ears back, eyes narrowed, head tucked against her throat, neck and tail even with her spine, paws shifted out into an even stance, toes spread out, shoulders rolled forward, scruff bunched up. She thought that was all of them... She hoped she wasn't forgetting anything. "Will you start, Creed?" she asked as she made final adjustments to her stance. Here went nothing!
