Gaze pointed upward, the fae stared hard, her expression suggesting that she wished to will the fruit off the tree. Only once before when she'd stood next to Kismet the day they'd reunited had she been so aware of her height, or lack thereof. A breeze blew through to send the fruit swinging and Warja's ears flicked forward to betray her keen interest. The current grew stronger, the branches bobbing up and down with the invisible force pitted against them...and then everything stilled as the wind gave out. Not one single apple fell. Warja's ears flicked back.

Legs coiling beneath her, the yearling crouched down, her eyes locking on a target. She hesitated, bouncing up scant inches before crouching down once more, and then flung herself towards the fruit. As she neared it her jaws parted, flinging wide. She stretched out her neck, every inch of her being drawing out in the hopes of closing the distance between her and the apple. Her jaws snapped shut with a resounding crack and in the blink of an eye she was on the ground again, fruitless and more than a little miffed.

Pacing back several steps, the fae's gaze never left the boughs of the tree. Well. She huffed to herself. Now she had to have one. But how? Warja eyed the trunk, noting the curves in it. Her eyes narrowed and her tail flicked. She had an idea but... One ear turned back. Ehhhh. It was worth a shot.

Taking a run start, the yearling flung herself at the tree. She managed to get her front paws wrapped around a branch branch, using her dewclaws to hook the bark. Her back nails dug into the trunk of the tree, providing enough resistance to keep her up but not enough to keep her in place, her hind limbs slowly sliding down the tree. She moved quickly, reaching up with a forelimb to grasp at another branch and then strong-arming her way up the tree. She rested once all four limbs were supported by branches. Within reach hung dozens of tantalizing fruits. They filled the air with their sweet scent, inviting her to choose her reward. The brush of a low hanging apple against her ear drew her teeth upwards and Warja, plucking the pome from the tree, began to enjoy the fruits of her labor.

Priti had taken to lurking around the orchard; it was far enough away from where she had last seen those damned brats and still offered shelter and a nearby source of water without being right next to it; which never failed to make her joints ache. The aged woman certainly was not eager for company and for the most part it seemed to house its secluded parts. The notion of finding and joining a pack had crossed her mind once or twice; it would have made her life easier for certain and in her old age didn't she deserve a pack of younger wolves dedicated to making sure she was comfortable? Certainly life owed her that much at least.

The snowy woman trudged among the trees, nose close to the ground as she sniffed for prey. There was the sound of short breathes off to her right, and as she passed beside a tree another one came into view, a young wolf struggling up it's trunk to pluck an apple from its branches. Despite herself the elder paused to watch the youth. A chuckle rising from her throat and she approached.
"Well now I've seen everything." Amusement crackled through her voice, a teasing tone interlacing with uneven melodies of age. "I've seen cats resting in the branches of trees while they ate but never a wolf. "

A breeze blew through the orchard and sent the branches beneath her swaying hard enough for Warja to become concerned. She shuffled her paws closer to the trunk in the hopes that the limbs were stronger there. She wasn't too far off the ground, but the idea of hitting branches and then the ground amid a hailstorm of fruit didn't really appeal to her. Of course she could simply jump, but she wasn't done eating and climbing the tree again wasn't an appealing prospect. So instead she waited, clinging to the branches with her nails and thinking featherlight thoughts until the breeze passed and the motion ceased. The little fae was reaching for another apple when a voice drew her attention away.

A ghost of a smile graced the yearling's lips. "There's a first time for everything, right?" Blackened ears would swivel to investigate the droning of an insect near her ear and then flick wildly to shoo it away before pinning forward once more to regard the stranger. Curiosity brightened her features as she regarded the earthbound wolf. She looked to be, and Warja could only guess at this, very old. The only other wolf she'd ever seen over the age of like, maybe five was Erani and the yearling only had the vaguest of memories of her. Her age was the only thing that Warja could glean from the fae's appearance, although she seemed friendly enough. "While I'm up here, would you like an apple?"

The yearling spoke amiably and Priti found herself smiling a bit wider and nodding. "Apparently." The woman settled herself upon her haunches, releaving the pressure on her joints. "And here I was thinking there wasn't anything else the world could throw at me to surprise me." Limes ran over the yearling watching as she was being watched. The girl offered her an apple and the woman chuckled again. "Well aren't you a considerate one. She nodded. If you don't mind."  It would be good to get some more food in her belly and the prospect of hunting wasn't exactly too attractive at her age.

Still an apple was hardly a meal... The child smelt of other wolves, a pack perhaps though it could just have easily been her family. Priti pondered for a moment then posed a hesitant question. "Where are you from dear?" Maybe it was time she seriously consider joining a pack.

The fae's response drew a laugh from the young medic. To Warja, there was nothing odd about climbing the tree. She wanted an apple and, not being tall enough to simply pull one down, had done what was necessary to get what she wanted. Still, she understood that her methods were sometimes unconventional and others weren't as open to that way of thinking.

Her offer of an apple was accepted and Warja immediately went about finding a suitable target. While being careful not to create too much movement she twisted her head around, eyeballing the surrounding fruit. When a good one was spotted, the yearling tentatively stretched out her neck to gently grasp the apple and pull it towards her. Holding it in her jaws, she eyed the ground near the stranger before tossing it. Her aim was careful and true, depositing the fruit with a few short bounces at the elderly fae's side.

"Where are you from dear?" Warja regarded her for a moment before replying. "Secretua, it's a new pack not far from here." She knew her father wasn't too keen on strangers knowing their location, but the yearling didn't think the earthbound lady was a criminal mastermind or anything, so she didn't think anything of sharing that information with her. "My name is Warja, by the way."
