Well well. The day she decided to come and finally join the pack that Esa was in was...no more. Had they simply relocated,  the woman would have sought them out. But the fact that the scents seemed faded told her a different story. She crossed the faded borders to see that nobody was really around here anymore. Did that mean her friend had left too? Olivine gaze searched the valley, and until she was sure that Esarosa wasn't around, then she would stick around till then.

The day wore on, the sky cloudy and a light drizzle falling on her pelt as it seemed to want to wash away the scents of what once stood here. She knew the pack hadn't lasted long...maybe discord or insecurities? Had they been chased out? Perhaps not. The only way to know for sure would be to find her friend.

"Listen to me talk," 'and know my thoughts.'

As Esarosa roamed the quiet valley, ebony paws carrying her with less fervor than usual, she could feel the emptiness that had taken over the emerald valley. It was just like when she'd first arrived here in the dead of winter, before it had been claimed. It had seemed so peaceful back then, but as she'd grown to enjoy pack life and get to know her pack mates, it now felt desolate without them here. How had they all become so distant and broken apart in just a few short seasons? Where had her pack mates gone? Where was Steel, and Itri, Mithras and his family? A sad and lonesome sigh escaped her lips. She'd been so sure that pack life wasn't for her, but now that she'd lived it, she was certain she didn't wish to return to her old life.

Dull green eyes stared at the grassy floor as she paced along slowly. The overcast sky reflected the dreary feeling that clung to her, and the rain had come just in time to wash away the fading scents of Argead. It all felt so final. Sighing again, she slowed to a stop, her gaze lifting from the ground, hoping that she might actually see someone. And she did. It wasn't who she'd expected to see, but she was glad to see Valentina's obvious frame in the near distance.

Though her heart still felt heavy, she broke into a run, wishing to close the distance between herself and her friend as quickly as possible. What if she was imagining it, and Val's form vanished into thin air, like everyone else had? Panting as she approached, she forced a smile, her tail offering a wave. "Val!" she called out as she came within hearing range, "You made it!" At last she closed the gap, her tail now drooping as she prepared to say out loud that Argead had dissolved into nothing, if it wasn't already obvious. "But... Argead's broken up," she murmured with a growing frown, "I don't know what happened; everyone's just gone..." She had hoped to meet Valentina here to introduce her to the pack, but those hopes had been dashed and right now she just couldn't see the bright side.

Hm? She turned at the sound of her name being called, the red hued woman finding her friend running towards her. Val smiled when she saw her, glad to see that she was okay in some form. "Of course, I said I'd come." And even though she was late in arriving, she was kind of glad. She would have hated to have joined only to find herself homeless again. When Esarosa told her what happened, Val frowned too. She knew how happy she had been in the pack, and the fact that it dissolved seemed to have upset her. Nosing her shoulder, Val pressed against Esarosa's shoulder to comfort her. "I'm sorry that it didn't last long, but we'll find something better together. Shit happens, you just gotta make the best of it."

She was a bit sad that she didn't get to see what the pack was like, but she wasn't too upset about something she didn't really know about. "Chin up, girly. We'll find something better." She hoped so anyway. She wouldn't admit it, but she was getting tired of being a loner.

Esarosa half-smiled when Val confirmed that she'd said she would come, so here she was. Maybe things had worked out this way for a reason. She was happy when her friend tried to comfort her, offering a comforting touch to the shoulder. Her words made Esa feel lighter, like a weight had been lifted. "Thanks, it really helps," she murmured softly, grateful for her friend's presence. Val said they would find something better together. She wouldn't be alone. The ebony-coated woman nodded her head as Val said she just had to make the best of it. That was true, there was simply no point in moping around. It wouldn't bring her life in Argead back, but life went on and she still had to do something with herself.

Lifting her chin and allowing her tail to wave in the air at its normal high-held position, Esarosa tried to look a little more confident. Not so worn down. "You're right, Val," she confirmed, nodding her head again, "There's got to be something better. Maybe one day we'll make something better." She eyed the woman curiously. But that was one day, in the future - they had to figure out what to do now.
