Ásvor knew that trespassing onto another pack's homelands was not a good thing. It could get them in a lot of trouble, just like if someone came into their home. She knew that her mom wouldn't be okay with that, and she certainly wouldn't be okay with her kids going somewhere they weren't supposed to be either.

So.. she wouldn't trespass. But Ásvor was more than okay with pushing her limits. She had convinced Runa and Naudir to come along with her. It was a lot less scary to leave home when they were all together, she decided. Maybe they could have an adventure like the ones that their mother told them about from the stories of the gods. She nearly giggled at the possibility!

She knew there was a pack nearby, but she didn't know anything about that. Yfir tended to keep to themselves. Ásvor would continue through the pine trees until she caught whiff of their scent markers. It was a very obvious smell and she'd turn to eye her sisters. Perhaps Runa might have some vision that would help them decide what to do.. she knew her mind was not always in this world, but in another, perhaps up in the clouds with the gods and goddesses.  "I wonder who lives here," the girl would muse thoughtfully, sighing in slight frustration, wishing she could somehow sneak in.. but she knew the consequences would be dire and so she would wait on the other side of the border, peering through the tall pines curiously.

Naudir followed her sister Ásvor with mixed suspicion.  At first she’d been excited to go exploring and Runa was coming along to and she always saw the neatest things.  However, as they wandered further and further out of the Red Forest and right up to another packs border her fur stood on end.  Surely her sister wasn’t about to cross another packs border?  Naudir nearly sighed in relief when Ásvor stopped but she knew that mischievous tone in the others voice when she asked who lived next door to Yfir.  Naudir shrugged.  “I don’t know but maybe we should head back now?”  She glanced at Runa.  Branwen was off helping Lyndvarr gather juniper berries and Balthazaar…. where was Balthazaar?

Runa wandered along in her sisters' pawsteps, happily blinking at the blue snow-flowers that nodded their heads and giggled as the young wolves passed them. It was a pity that her sisters couldn't see them, but the gods gave different gifts to all wolves. Asvor, for instance, was far more bold and mischievous than her or Naudir, and Runa was quite content to follow along with her plans. It was certainly never dull.

Asvor finally stopped as though she had reached a wall, and Runa sniffed at the air. Yes, there was the border scent, as clear to her as a bright line running through the snow. Could Asvor see it too? Was that why she had stopped clear of it? It was not Yfir's border - they had passed that already, and crossed the no-wolf zone between the packs to find another scent border, so this must be a new pack. She peered curiously at the pines while her sisters spoke. "Enemies," she finally spoke up sagely at the question, blinking between the other two with a distant smile and unfocused gaze. "They must be, mustn't they? Because they are not Yfir."

She didn't sound at all concerned by the idea as she posed it, because she really wasn't. What did she have to be worried about, after all? Certainly even if it had occurred to her that they were three pups alone on the edge of enemy territory she still would not have worried, for were they not the children of Odin? The blood of the highest among the Aesir ran through their veins, and no enemy of Yfir's could lay claim to such godhood. So instead she amused herself by gently batting at the softly glowing wisp that darted around her paw.

Seeing pups on the edge of the borders probably wasn't the strangest thing. Seeing as they bordered another pack - Amachi considered that foolish - but oh well. As her paws carried her, the giant watched for a moment. Words from one of the young ones hitting her ears. Well she certainly hoped they weren't enemies. Yet northern packs like her old one could easily consider everyone and anything not within their borders an enemy until proven otherwise. Well, there would be no harm in approaching them with their curosity.

The giant walked over towards the three, respectively she didn't cross her own border either. "Out exploring are you?" she asked as she looked at them. "These are Ivalice lands here, we're your neighbors." she shifted her head to the tree's. Giving a short smile towards the young. Despite their size - they were strong. As of expected from a northern pack though. She was no stranger to that. "My name is Amachi."

Border patrol. Borders borders borders...borders. the young male circled the territory twice now, halfway to his third time around. He wanted to prove to his mom that he could be responsible, that he wasn't just a kid anymore. He strengthened the borders each time he went around, reveling in the fact that he now had a pack to protect as he grew older. Okay, he kinda did the same in imperium, but there was just so much to explore. Even here, he walked around with a stick in his mouth, mindlessly chewing on it as he went about on patrol.

As he came around the northwestern edge of the territory however, he heard the word enemies and then another voice. He stopped in his tracks, head tilting as he listened. Amachi found someone on their border? An enemy!? Oh hell no! The boy kicked into a run, hurtling towards the would be enemies. Green eyes first saw amachi, but she didn't look like she was attacking anyone. Then he saw the three pups at the border, and confusion set in. Those were enemies? He pulled to a stop near amachi, snow spraying everywhere  (and possibly everyone) as he came to a halt. His head tilted to the side as he looked curiously at the three pups. They were from another pack, that was for sure. "We're enemies?" Brows rose quizzically, gaze looking at each of them before looking at amachi. "When did we become enemies with these guys?" The stick was still in his mouth, practically forgotten now as his interest was in his "enemies."

Ásvor was not totally naive. She knew this wasn't the best idea in the world, but she figured it wouldn't be totally disastrous if she didn't trespass and didn't upset anyone. She wasn't planning to, but being around an unfamiliar pack and perhaps some strangers was quite intriguing to her. Naudir didn't seem quite so content to linger here though, and she frowned slightly at her sister. It was a shame that Tau hadn't been feeling well - he would be happy to be here! At least Runa didn't suggest they leave, much to her pleasure. Her sister seemed to be floating in the clouds as she spoke - something that was no surprise. She had always been only half in this world, ever since they were first born. Where her other half was, Asvor had no clue. "They must be enemies," she would agree lightly to Runa's observations. They were not Yfir, and they were not family. It was likely they did not even believe in the true gods and goddesses, which made them even more like enemies in her eyes.

She hadn't expected anyone to pick up on their scents so quickly, but before she had time to come up with the next step in her plan, a rather sizable woman was on the horizon, approaching them quickly. She didn't appear to be overly hostile, but Asvor would retract slightly, pushing closer to her siblings for moral support. "Yes," she answered her question as to whether they were exploring. "We are from Yfir." Surely she could tell - for how many wolves lived so far north? - and she had likely caught hint of their scent around these areas, since they lived so close.

Another wolf trailed after her, a younger one, and though he was older than she and her sisters, his demeanor seemed quite a bit more childlike. Her nose wrinkled as he rushed toward them, sending snow up on each side of him as he came to a sudden stop. "We're not enemies," the girl would counter, her tone sweet and laced with a hint of mischievousness, "But we could be, if you try hard enough."

By the time Ræ was able to catch up with her sisters they'd seemingly managed to get themselves into all kinds of trouble. The idea of exploring this new packs border had seemed awesome at the time, but when Bodolf had taken off after a bird, Ræ had followed, and apparently you couldn't leave Finnvi children alone for even five minutes before trouble happened. Oh well, she thought. Maybe that's what makes life so much fun. She stared at these other wolves from the underbrush for a moment before darting out to stand by her sisters.

Bodolf, a clouded leopard and a close friend, was hot on her heels. He watched their company with hard, iron eyes. Ræsa on the other hand was smiling a wry grin. She had spent much of her youth sick, unable to go far from the den, and now that she was feeling better she wasn't about to let Runa and Ásvor have all the fun! "Enemies sound like more fun anyways," she threw in, chuckling under her breath. She wondered what these odd wolves would do when prodded at, and Mother would probably want to know what kind of wolves they shared a border with anyways. Ræsa sized them up, wondering what their odds would be if they decided that almost crossing the border was close enough to make no difference.

Naudir shook out her coat as snowflakes lightly began to fall from the sky.  She was ready to go exploring, but that meant exploring somewhere that wasn’t someone else’s territory.  “Come on, let’s go explore a new land.  You guys want to head straight north?  I hear there’s a huge frozen lake up there that’s miles deep!”  She didn’t mind exploring the lands close by… and maybe when they were older she’d feel comfortable going a bit farther, but not right now.

Her ears flicked back as Runa came up by her sisters and stated that they were enemies.  Naudir frowned, sapphire eyes narrowing as she eyed the border.  Naudir knew her sister was deeply connected to the gods and she would not question the others judgement though it did seem strange to label them enemies without even seeing who they were.

Naudir took a step back, fur and hackles raising at the approach of a massive, strangely marked woman.  They were ok though surely, they were still in neutral territory after all.  Even so, Naudir was immediately cautious of the other.  She dipped her head slowly in answer to the woman’s question.  Ivalice?  That was the packs name.  The woman was Amachi.  Naudir blinked for a moment in surprise at how forthcoming the stranger was with information.

Suddenly, a boy came barreling toward’s them and Naudir’s ears pinned tightly to her head, her stance widening as she watched the boy come to a stop next to Amachi.  She frowned at his questions.  “I don’t know… are we enemies?”  She glanced to her sisters and Asvor stated that they weren’t…. at least not yet.  Naudir jumped lightly as Balthazaar suddenly dove from the sky and landed next to her.  “Enemies or not, you lot shouldn’t be talking with strangers!”  He took a few hops toward the Ivalice wolves, head twisting in that jerky manner of birds as he eyed them suspicously.

It was then Ræsa showed up and Naudir’s thoughts on the neighbors dropped.  “Ræsa!  You’re ok!”  She raced over to her sister, seeking to nuzzle the girl who’d spent most of her time in her den sick.  She yelped suddenly as Balthazaar yanked a few hairs out of her tail.  “Oi!  Pay attention, don’t turn your back on strange wolves Naudir.  Your mother taught you better than that.”  Sulking Naudir glared at the bird before glancing back at the strangers.

As he was accustomed to doing Taufr lagged way behind the rest of the group. The illness he had only recently recovered from only pushed him further back as the more energetic (not for long) of his siblings raced ahead. He didn't mind bringing up the rear; it gave him the opportunity to evaluate the situation before he stepped into it. In this instance the young boy lingered well behind the others until the strangers started to arrive. Without a word he crept closer as the woman approached until he stood no more a few feet behind his sisters. With a critical eye he looked the woman over. After a few moments of thoughtful scrutiny his gaze roved to the yearling and he swept a similarly critical eye over him. Were these enemies? He rather liked the idea of having enemies. Enemies were for vanquishing, for mauling with gusto, their corpses for dancing on in victory. If his dad's stories were to be believed having enemies sounded like a blast.

It was decided then, wasn't it? These were their enemies. Nonchalantly he wormed his way into the gaggle of sisters so he could be a bit closer to the strangers. He knew better than to instigate, but being enemies and all meant these folks could jump at them at any time. Taufr wanted to be ready. His dad was fond of telling stories about fights he'd gotten into and Taufr wanted to have stories like that too.

An idea suddenly struck him and his keen gaze brightened further. Wouldn't his parents be proud if they brought home captives? Taufr once again assessed the strangers, this time with their worth in mind. He shot a look to Runa. If it was meant to be she would know it.

Alfrun simply watched with distant unconcern as the border was approached by two of the enemy pack wolves, the one a tall female who spoke at them like they were babies, and the other a boy not terribly much older than they were who demanded to know when they'd become enemies. She blinked at him in confusion. "Always," she tried to explain, but her quiet word was overwhelmed by the others and she was content to let them work it out as they were unexpectedly backed up by the eldest and biggest two of their littermates. She beamed quietly at Raesa and Taufr. It was good that they were well again - it had not felt quite whole without her full litter beside her. This was good. This was as was meant for them.

She watched the swirls of color drifting off the border like fog until Balthezar's caws drew her attention back. "Don't be a silly hatchling, Hrafnar Balthezar," she giggled. "Can you not see the line? They can no more cross it than we can, for it would mean their lives if they sought to threaten us, and with we all watching too." She giggled again, letting her gaze be drawn skyward for a moment before she continued reasonably. "Why would we not be enemies? We have no peace with this pack. They are owed no frith. They compete for our resources. That means they are enemies, doesn't it?"

Her eyes met the tall female's, the vague gaze sharpening knowingly as she cocked her head to the side and smiled a soft guilelessly unafraid smile that laid bare her twisted gums and teeth through the cleft of her lip. Well and even if she were not Odinn's daughter surely she would have no cause to fear this woman, for she was hardly any taller than Alfrun's blood-sire, nor did she have Laufey's striking build. Why, Raesa would probably be almost as tall as her when she finally stopped growing, and burly Taufr was not far behind either. "You do not need to fear us," she added softly as she blinked at them, eyes unfocusing once more to watch the mist envelop the strangers. Such a strange color for a mist, more like the clearest of blue sky had dripped down and become a fog on the borders. "We have yet no cause to give you harm."

These children reminded her of her own home she had been born into. Where her size and color had been seen as an omen. However it was interesting, they were strong youths and where more appeared she kept her cool as she usually did. Amachi shifted on her paws, easily towering over all of them. She couldn't help but to listen to their conversation with no sense of worry. They had the right mentality to protect a pack. Though, she wouldn't quiet call it.... being enemies. "Your sister is right, we both abide by the same laws. Though I wouldn't call it enemies - enemies can be a scary thing if you don't know what you are handling. I wouldn't want to be enemies with you because I don't know how strong you are beyond your borders." Amachi stated for a moment. Her eyes wandering over the group, it was interesting to see what the north and their neighbors had to offer though.

"You're parents much be very respectable and strong wolves to raise you like this. You are very smart for your age. Remember your pack comes first above others... because a pack is family." why she was talking to kids of another pack like this she didn't know. However she kept on edge, she could easily harm them and that would cause trouble. If they tried to harm her. "My name is Amachi Mackury. This is Dragon Ancora. It's an honor and a pleasure to meet you." her head dipped in respect. It would be best not to piss Yfir off. Judging by these children Amachi could tell very much. Yfir was a pack very inclined to their survival. They were strong.
