ooc: You have until the 25th to post if your wolf is a novice! All those absent(pups are not required to come ) without good cause(absent notice ect.) will be punished. Punishment will be discussed with Avalon.

Vereux figured it was time to set an example for his kids. For Avalon even. If he was to be a force of Ivalice, he had to show an effort. A more dominant effort at that. As the male stood at the entrance of the mines - the home he created for herbs. His head raised in a urgent howl for all the wolves, though excluding the pups.

After the male called he would stay standing to wait for the wolves to arrive. This was a simple meeting, he just planned on telling them the basics. So that if they went off on their own they at least had the knowledge. That and perhaps a healer wouldn't be available during a seige or raid, they could figure out a way to treat themselves or have a fellow wolf help them with what they knew.

To have to answer the call of this traitor was something that irked Lykos beyond belief. He did not respect the male, and he awaited Katja's swift justice eagerly. Unfortunately, he was still also a Novice, though he doubled as the Heir as well. It was irritating, and Lykos wished to confront Vereux with such an intense desire that it gnawed at him constantly - but no doubt the disgusting oathbreaker would have yet another excuse to make, or would refuse to answer Lykos. It was also not his place; it was his mother's (hopefully she would), and ultimately, it was Katja who reserved the right to punish this traitor, but Lykos would sure as hell keep a close eye on this male who seduced his mother. He didn't trust Vereux at all, and past was not simply that to him. The past was something that needed to be taken into account - once a traitor, always a traitor. And you should never trust a traitor, even if they seem trustworthy. They are not. They are a traitor.

The truth was that simple to Lykos. He stalked towards the meeting, his irritation nearly palpable in the air, though he paused well before arriving to the meeting to calm himself down. While he thought this, it would be good to arrive at the utterly emotionless. And so he took a breath, and smoothed his features, before continuing on. Seeing as he was in the next territory over, it still took a few minutes of jogging to arrive at this idiotic training. Despite his reluctance and what he thought was slowness, apparently he was still the first to arrive. Feeling disgruntled, but refusing to give Vereux the satisfaction, he simply nodded to the man - a simple greeting that gave no inclination of his thoughts. No, he would hide these thoughts from Vereux. While Vereux likely knew Lykos simply disliked him, he could not possibly know anything more than that... nor would he.

Oh, he was still here. Amachi was selfish for thinking that, but regardless it wouldn't be said out loud. As she got up the beast would make her way over. The first one she saw was Lykos. The child she had wanted to mentor but she was assigned to Dragon. Which made sense Lykos was heir and would be working with his mother. He had a lot going for him, as she dipped her head towards him she took a silent seat. The woman let her tail curl around her body, Lykos had been raised in Imperium. Amachi had for a time considered that pack, after all Valentine had seemed to have enjoyed her company. The thoughts slowly etched and faded though as she waited for this healer to say what he needed.

The ebony-coated woman lifted her head and tilted her ears as she heard the call go up for healer training. She'd been resting in the den, in between hunting excursions and training recently, she'd felt exhausted. She was certain that there was life forming within her body, causing an extra strain on her energy. Dragging herself to her paws, she left the comfort of her den behind, and made her way across territories until she had come to the Northern Mines. It was here that she would join her pack mates where Vereux had called them together. She looked to the very tall, interestingly marked woman, nodding to her with a small smile, going to sit near her. "Hi Amachi," she said, hoping she'd gotten the woman's name correct - she was pretty sure she'd heard right at the meeting, but she'd never talked to Amachi one on one. Then she turned and looked at the Heir, smiling at him. "Good to see you, Lykos," she greeted the Alphaess' son in a pleasant tone.

And finally, she would turn to the healer that had called this training session, smiling to Vereux. She knew she'd have to visit him in private eventually, so that he could keep an eye on her progression. But for now, she was just here to learn the basics that he was going to teach them all. If she couldn't fight or hunt, at least she could learn a bit about healing, even if she'd never be proficient in that skill. "What are we learning about today, Vereux?" she asked, head tilting to the side curiously.

Kharnage felt a sigh roll through him as he heard the call for yet another meeting of sorts. First there'd been the meeting, then the one their mother had held, then the fight training, and now to top it off Vereux was calling another stupid healer meeting. The last one had not been forgotten and he'd been the only one to show up to the damn thing. Was anyone else punished for not attending? Hell no! The thought made him rather irritable. He contemplated not going and just leaving the territory again to go off on adventure. If he was lucky he'd find something fun to do again.

Alas he dared not risk the wrath of his mother so soon so with a heavy sigh and a loud obnoxious groan he pulled himself from his comfortable sleeping spot. When he arrived a few had only gotten there, but he supposed it was better than to his last turn out. To his disgust Lykos was here and Kharnage went out of his way to be as far away from him as possible as well as getting himself away from Vereux too. The unnaturally large woman and a black woman he didn't know was here too, but he didn't feel like sitting near them either. In the end he'd secluded himself away from everyone else and he dared anyone to sit near him. His posture overall was not welcoming and he made no moves to hide how unhappy he was to be here.

The call for healing training was something that Ganta had been hoping for. While he had wanted to speak to the one-eyed male about training it seemed the group training was to come first, before he even had a chance to ask! But that was alright, Ganta thought. He had wanted to learn herblore since he was young, but alas there had never been time it seemed. With a light sigh at the thought of the past the young man headed in the direction of the call, hoping for the best in all honesty. Hopefully he’d be able to maintain himself in front of his packmates.

By the time he arrived Ganta was feeling better, more sure than before. His gaze was bright as he neared the group, sitting down before looking towards the one-eyed male. “A pleasure.” Ganta said softly, his gaze thoughtful. He glanced towards the youth who seemed almost emotionless, ears twitching. What was this? He didn’t question it, but the expression of the other showed fairly obvious disdain for the one holding the meeting. Hmm... Maybe Ganta could talk to him later? Pushing the thought aside the ghostly eyes of the young man shifted back to Vereux, waiting for the training to begin.

The itty bitty was at it again. This time he’d left the play area near the den to answer the call of his father, and went bounding away. He might have been there earlier, had a butterfly not distracted the youth. Eagerly Enlil chased after it, barking and snapping, until finally he caught it! But uh oh! It wasn’t moving anymore. Enlil looked down at the little once-fluttery thing in horror. No...! He gave a whine. Maybe... Maybe his dad could save it! Picking the insect up in his mouth Ganta finished the rest of the way to the meeting at a run, dropping the dead insect on the ground at Vereux’s paws. “Papa do somethingggg! It doesn’t flutter anymore!” The little one whined.

Another one? His mom wasn't lying when she said training would be stepped up. He made his way to the mines, and it didn't take him long to arrive. Lykos was there, and he rolled his eyes at his brother. He knew his feelings towards their healer, and if he hated him so much then why did he bother coming? Probably trying to suck up to Mom by acting like the perfect little boy. The thought made him snort, but hey, whatever floated his boat. His brother hardly spent time with him, let alone talked to him. So he was caring less and less about someone who didn't care about anyone else but his own selfish ego.

He nodded to his mentor, and then Vereux. He had learned to get used to the presence of the half blind male. If that's who his mom wanted to be happy with then who was he to say otherwise? He plopped next to Kharnage again, (because why wouldn't he wanna see if he could annoy him), and grinned while nudging his shoulder. "Let's go bowl some penguins later or something." They needed some much needed brotherly time.

After the meeting, it seemed wolves were more inclined to these meetings. Vereux knew if he didn't do his part either it would be a waste. He was determined to be Ivalice's best healer. He couldn't just let a whim let him in. After all, he was born and raised in one of the greatest(even if it was the cruelest) packs that Ardent had come across. He nodded back to Lykos in turn. Regardless of Lykos dislike of him, he was the heir. Which meant in theory that he was ranked above Vereux. Superiors, Vereux was starting to remember how home used to be. So maybe he could analyze things that way.

Then it was Amachi, another silent wolf. He was beginning to think it would just be him talking until Esarosa showed up. A smile on his face as she spoke, at least she was friendly. It made him feel less alienated within the pack at least. “Nothing too complicated today Esarosa. I figured wolves should know first aid when they need it.” he responded with a dip of his head. Of course she would boost his confidence. In turn, he greeted Kharnage, and a newcomer. Ganta was it? If Vereux remembered his name clearly. Then his son would surprise him, the small puff ball came to him with a dead butterfly. It broke his heart slightly to see his son so distraught, but he knew all wolves would have to come to terms with these things.

Vereux would crouch near his son, a soft smile on his face. “Enlil, you bit a little too hard on the creature. Some wounds - cannot be healed. Like when you hunt prey, you give them wounds that can't be healed. Which is why you need to be careful about how you bite unless it's against an enemy. Don't be afraid or sad though, you see this butterfly - it's moved onto the next life.” he would settled a paw near the boy. Looking at him with his green eye, “You'll be alright, if you wish we can bury the butterfly after the meeting. Which is how you pay respects to the dead.” to give him some more reassurance he would give the boy a lick on the cheek. “See that black wolf over there, her name is Esarosa. Why don't you sit next to her? There are a lot more wolves than just daddy who can teach you a thing or two.” after the male would raise himself again just to see Dragon appear.

With that it seemed they would be the only wolves going to show. Regardless he was excited for the turn out being larger than before. Taking in a deep breath, he'd remember his short season as a King. “Thank you all for coming, this meeting will be short so no need to hold your breath. I'm simply going to talk about first aid, the basic herbs that on a rainy day can help you get by until a more experienced healer shows up or otherwise.” The male would shift. He then grabbed his herbs. Mint, Poppy seeds, Cobwebs to just start. Each in turn placing in front of him.

“This green plant here is Mint, you may have smelt it before since it's so distinct. Mint can be of help if you have a stomach ache, anxiety, it's a relaxant basically.” he then went to the seed in front of him, almost looking like a flower. “These are poppy seeds, this container here actually holds millions of the little seeds inside of it. It's a pain killer and sedative. You take one or two of the pods when in pain and it will make you sleepy. Just be careful not to take too much like most herbs.” the last were the cobwebs - and of course they weren't so much a herb as they were... well cobwebs. “Last of these three are cobwebs, you know what they are you see spiders spin them all the time in dark or enclosed spaces. Enough of it, it will stop bleeding can even be used as a binding for broken limbs if you align it with a sturdy branch. It's sticky so be careful when handling it.” after that the male would look up towards the group.

“Any questions about these herbs? If you'd like to know a specific herb for a certain ailment or injury I can also tell you of those.” Just these three seemed to be the most common that he used among any circumstance.

ooc: Next round is due September 6th.

The giant watched how the male handled his son. Though there was no way to tell how the pup would react. Not all of them could take information so easily. As she kept silent, it wasn't long before the meeting was underway and the area was filled with words and information for them to process and contain. Mint, she'd seen and smelt it before. Cobwebs - that may have been common knowledge but she supposed that's what this was. There was poppy seeds in that list as well. As Amachi nodded her head he would ask if anyone would want anymore information.... she really wasn't that curious. After all the basics were all she needed until she got to a proper healer.

Enlil glanced down at the butterfly as his dad explained, his little heart aching in his chest. So he bit too hard… he was trying to be really careful! He gave a soft whine, nudging the butterfly with his nose. He was sorry that he had made it move on to the next life because of him, but his father’s next words, saying that they could bury it after the meeting cheered him up a little. He gave a small nod, his amber eyes holding a soft look. “Promise papa?” He whined.

When his father told him to go sit next to Esarosa, the pretty lady whom he sat next to at the meeting, the boy did so without any hesitation. He smiled up at her, though his gaze was still a bit sad because he’d killed the butterfly. He really hadn’t meant to. But perhaps it could teach him to be more careful with other creatures he wanted to be friends with.

When his father started the meeting he shifted his gaze towards the man, perking his ears forward as he became incredibly curious. After his father had finished Enlil spoke up, his voice quiet. “Papa how do we know whether to apply an herb onto a wound or eat it? We eat the mint right? Like the poppy seeds?”

The young male listened as Vereux started the lesson, ears perked and curious ghostly silver-white eyes shining. The man speaking with his son had brought a pang of longing into Ganta’s heart, but the unique brute did not weep for what was lost. His parents were gone, and nothing was going to change that. Though, perhaps, one day he might become a father himself and have the chance to nurture a young one. The thought made Ganta smile again. Maybe he could even reach out to the youths of this pack and get to know them?

After refocusing on Vereux the male tilted his head to the side, speaking up in a gentle, and slightly excited, voice. “ I’m more curious about how you judge the doseages for the different herbs as well. A larger wolf would require more than a smaller one, and an adult more than a pup, but how do you know when enough is enough?” It was easy to see that both he, and the man’s son, were eager to learn about more about herblore.

This mood would brighten slightly as Dragon came over and plopped next to him. The shoulder nudge brought a soft grin and Kharnage gave him one back. It reminded him he didn't hate all his siblings, but Dragon happened to be his favorite. Lykos was just a stuck up dick and he didn't talk to Gryphon at all and then he didn't even want to think about their younger half siblings. How their mother could have kids with ... well that he had no clue, but it was awful.

He briefly noted one of them complaining about a butterfly and he rolled his eyes. Stupid kid. He ignored Vereux as he explained why it was dead. Well at least the kid would learn. He'd then start off with the meeting and Kharnage listened with a half-assed interest. So far he didn't care about mint. He didn't see how that counted as first aid. If a wolf had a belly ache they needed to just suck it up and get over it, he wasn't going to help anyone with that. He also didn't count that as patching someone up. The only thing that actually sounded interesting for helping heal anyone after a fight was the cobwebs, but after that he'd done a piss poor job of actually explaining anything. One wolf asked about dosages and he sighed before looking at Dragon.

"Alright I'm out. This is stupid. I came, I sat, and now I'm leaving. Healing doesn't interest me. We can go penguin bowling later." He said before rising to his feet and leaving without a word to anyone else.

Vereux wasn't going to try and keep Kharnage here. Those boys were well into becoming adults, what Avalon did with them and what they decided was their own thoughts. As his attention turned to Enlil he nodded to his promise. It wouldn't be hard to find a nice spot for the boy to bury the butterfly, and he was glad that Enlil calmed down a bit. As after he explained a few things, it was his son and the newcomer who would speak. Questions were always good, as he nodded his head to the two of them. He'd answer Enlil first.

“You'd have to learn the herb. Mint you can also place on cuts for relief if you chew and then spit out the juice. Quiet usually it's useful for stomach ache's, and panic attacks. Usually you can experiment with herbs like Mint, you just have to strictly know the poisonous ones. Like Nightshade, which can kill you if ingested.” he explained as he started to relax more. He didn't have to care about those who hated him, just those who cared to listen. So his attention turned to Ganta.

“For doses it can be a bit tricky. Like you said a larger wolf will need more than a pup, it's a job of a healer to correctly gauge that amount. Say a pup has an injury and they need poppy seeds. It's best to give them as little as possible because for one it's addictive and two it could lower their pain tolerance. As for how much is too much, if you think you've given too little of a dose, you can give your patient a tiny bit more if you feel safe enough. If your patient complains about a stomach ache, you know you've given them a little too much. For the more dangerous herbs it's best to ask a seasoned healer.” Vereux explained as he nodded his head.
