He hoped that something changed for him soon. Sitting idly by waiting just didn't seem to suit him. He was two years old now and Qualm felt like he had accomplished nearly nothing. What a disappointment he must have been. That being said, he was self conscious of what the wolves around him thought. His sister more or less probably would never trust him again - there was no telling what Kakashi thought of him. His uncle, he looked a lot like his sister. Yet Qualm was left looking like his father, dead beat father.

Fresh air. He walked along the edge of the lake with air in his lungs. The important thing was that he was alive right? There was always a chance to move forward, there was something to discover and something to learn. His tail flicked from behind him as he stopped to look at his reflection in the lake. Please gods let something change about him soon.

On The Edge Of Reason

Beyond Understanding

Great, out of one bit of trouble and onto the next. She’d managed to get this far with the help of a couple loners, but now she was lost again. She was starting to wonder if leaving their sides, peasants or not, was worth it. She was getting skinnier, and if she got in a much worse state, well, she might as well be dead at that point, right? Her paws trudged through the the grass around a lake, thirst drawing her close to the water. She couldn’t remember what way was home anymore. She wasn’t sure she cared either. If her daddy really loved her then surely he’d look for her soon, right?

But as she neared the water she spotted a creature with an odd coat. Another wolf, but his coat had shades of slate and brown upon it. Curious the girl drew closer, ears perked forward as she breathed in a slow breath. The young man was none other than Qualm, and spying him looking in the water the girl spoke up. “…Hello.” Nah breathed in slowly. If this male took her home then she was going to stay with him this time. At least then she wouldn’t have to worry about where her next meal was coming from.

Qualm heard a whispering voice, making him turn and automatically raise an eyebrow. A pup.... out here in the middle of nowhere? For a moment the male was in some sort of disbelief - there didn't seem to be any other wolves around either. She was practically skin and bones! "Wait here." he said softly. Within a few minutes he had caught a rat. Placing it in front of her he sat in front of the pup, he had to find a few things out now.

"Where are your parents?" he furrowed his brows. "My name's Qualm." Qualm might as well introduce himself. After all, if she was alone he was determined to take her home no questions asked. With how bad parents his had been - as he saw it. He'd like to bite whoever this little girls parents were.

On The Edge Of Reason

Beyond Understanding

When the male turned to look at her it was all Nah could do to keep from snorting at the look on his face. Yes, she was a pup. Yes she was out here on her own. Who knew where her parents and siblings were… or if they were even looking for her. But when she heard his soft voice there was something in that made Nah feel a bit better. Sure he was telling her to wait… but she felt sure that he’d come back. Surely he couldn’t leave the little one on her own?

The child waited, though she did not have to wait too long. A few minutes later he returned… and with food! Tail wagging the girl wasted no time at all in digging into the flesh of her prey, swallowing a couple large mouthfuls before she looked back up at the male and dipped her head. “The name’s… Nah.” She paused, debating if she should really give her name to the man. But then she went ahead and did so anyway, though to him it might sound like she was declining saying her name at all.

#4C9333“Not sure where they are…” The little one frowned, her green eyes focused on him. “Been alone for a while.” With that said the little girl tore back into the rat. The meat tasted a little strange from what her parents brought them… but it was meat and it felt good to eat something fresh after such a long time.
