He had slipped away, wanting time away from the fading scents of the pack lands. He didn't know where they were going to go. Riv was still recovering from battle and Jackson was getting antsy. He didn't want to leave his brother yet he didn't want to sit around forever with no purpose to life. He hadn't bothered to bring it up to Riv because in all honesty he was sure the others who stayed were already bringing these questions up to him. He didn't want to fallow in the same paw steps as the others, he knew when Riv had plans on his next move that he would seek out Jackson and tell him about it. He knew that Riv wouldn't leave him in the dust because too many family members have already done that to the both of them. Although without the pack Jackson had grown lazy, sure he made sure the small few were fed, but what was the sense in keeping track of any herds when catching rabbits was sufficient enough. Going Lazy had even made the boy slightly depressed and the thoughts of what future may lie ahead drove him deeper into it.

This is why he slipped away and went to a new territory, just for a day. He just needed to see, smell, and hear something different. Hoping this would help him out of his dampened mood and hoping that maybe a new face would come along. Maybe in a little he would get up and do his best to search for some plants for Armai, but for now he rested in the soft sands of the shore under a shaded tree.

Hera let her head rest on her chocolate brown paws while she stared out at the waves that were crashing against the shore. Just as she thought she might be figuring out what she wanted to do with her life she got it pulled out from under her. She was starting to think that packs were only formed just to crumble. She hated to be a cynic about it, but she was just so tired of having things set up for her and then immediately knocked down again. She hadn't even had a chance to be put into the position she had earned by beating Riv in that spar. She sighed heavily and pushed her thoughts away. There was no use worrying over it now. It was in the past, like the rest of her life was. She'd just have to keep going on. Like she always did.

The sound of paws caught her attention and she lazily lifted her head to look and see who it was, her silver gaze landing on the orange and black boy with mild interest. It was one of Riv's siblings if she remembered correctly... Jackson, was it? She hadn't really bothered to interact with the pack much- not that it really seemed that it would have been worth her time anyway. She considered just letting him go on about his way and just continue laying here sulking, but instead she pushed herself to her paws and shook the sand out of her fur. Might as well socialize to make the day go by faster. She padded toward him with a light bark to catch his attention. Her brown-tipped tail flicked behind her and she offered him a slight smile. "Whatcha doing out here, hm?"
