please please please don't post if you're going to bail or take ages to reply, want some hunting points <3 just need 1 other!

It was another lovely day, and Áki Jarvela found himself trying his paw at mountain-climbing again. His last journey here had been a rewarding one, and he found himself quickly longing to return to the sweeping views of the landscape. With more ease than before, he climbed the terrain at a steady pace. By the time he reached a decent stopping point, his chest heaved with slight exhaustion. Glad to find a place to rest for a moment, he tipped his tusked head to the air and sniffed at the wind.

Hunger struck him suddenly, a growling deep in his belly that he hadn't noticed thus far on his journey. Perhaps it was the vigor of the climb that had silenced the gnawing feeling, but lunch suddenly sounded quite appealing. He tested the air for awhile as a breeze blew past, rustling his thick coat and sending a shiver down his spine. He taught the scent of something and he'd move to trail after the faint scent of prey, moving carefully through the mountain pass. This was not the ideal hunting ground, but it was doable - and he was sure he could find something to satiate his grumbling stomach.

Hunger was gnawing at Arsenal, as time had passed since his last meal, which was not much of one at all. Despite this, he had found himself climbing the terrain he was on with much more difficulty than he wanted, struggling to keep himself mostly upright. He was going at a snail's pace, his hunger and the rough terrain both working against him. Still, he kept climbing; heading back would take longer than going forwards at this point, and there was a small resting place not too much further. Arsenal's chest was heaving with the struggle he was going through, and he was feeling less than happy about this decision now.

Finally, when he felt as if he were being better off collapsing to the ground, he reached his resting place, hauling himself up with a loud huff, chest heaving as he struggled to catch his breath. As a breeze blew past, it caused his stomach to rumble, but he waited a moment longer before he sent off, towards the source of the scent. It seemed that there was another who had the same idea, and Arsenal called out, his voice reflecting the weariness he was feeling. "Need any help?"

The sound of a stranger's approach, disturbing rocks underneath his paws was enough to grab his attention. Aki had been largely focused on traversing the difficult terrain of the mountain pass, so much that Arsenal's approach had come as more of a surprise than it should have. Slowly he came to a hold at a particularly solid piece of earth - or stone, rather - and spun around to face the man. He panted quietly, catching his breath as he found his words.

"Help?" He'd echo with a grin, tail waving in a friendly gesture behind him. "I don't really need help," he'd admit, his tone light. His posture was far from threatening as he assessed the male, who was considerably younger than himself, though seemed even more tired. Perhaps he wasn't as used to climbing mountains? He chuckled lightly. "But company is always appreciated. I caught wind of a few goats somewhere nearby, and was hoping I might find myself a meal, if you'd like to join me." Hunting had never been troublesome for him - he didn't see a need to deny a meal to a man who sounded fatigued enough to warrant a helping paw, and he had gone hungry enough to know it was not the worst thing in the world to eat less than he wanted.

The other, taller wolf spun around so quickly when he could that the younger male was caught off guard, ears pinning against his skull if just for a moment. If the other did decide to attack, Arsenal knew that it would be hard to fend it off, due to the older wolf's size and experience on this territory; and Arsenal's lack of. Running was a dangerous option, too, but it would likely help him in the situation that the other did attack. So, his body posture ready to run, Arsenal watched the taller wolf until he spoke, wagging his tail slightly.

Oh, that was right. Arsenal's ears burned with embarrassment as he ducked his head slightly. Of course the other wolf didn't need help; what had he been thinking? Arsenal wouldn't have needed help either, if he were the wolf. At the other's next words, Arsenal gave a small dip of his head, casting the distance between him and the other wolf a wary glance. "I'll join you if I can get over there." His tone was light as he hesitantly started his journey towards the taller wolf. It was a slow one, Arsenal only walking if he was sure he was safe, but he'd get there eventually.

Arsenal's reaction seemed a bit defensive, though he was used to others seeming a bit.. taken aback upon first meeting him. The other man seemed to relax just slightly after a moment, though remained on edge. Aki could appreciate the wariness. It didn't offend him in the slightest, though his crimson eyes were partially revealed under his narrowed gaze as he assessed his newest acquaintance.

His grin grew as the other said he'd join him, and he too judged the distance between them. It was rocky and rather unstable, though he was sure he could make the short trek without problem. He found his tail swaying gently behind him too, amused at the prospect of company. "Ever hunt mountain goats before?" the brute inquired gently, his own tone rather care-free. "It's dangerous, but worthwhile. Surely we can find a small one to take down."
