He was free!

Despite the fact that his mother had given him permission to leave, a small part of him felt guilty over the whole ordeal. After her fight with Mercy it seemed like something else had changed about her. Then the anger came boiling back like a volcano ready to burst and he reminded himself he had no reason to feel guilty. He didn't hate her guts entirely, but he was less than pleased with her actions since leaving Imperium. Between hanging around with a wolf that demanded high positions because he felt like it and then mating with him, not even telling her first kids about the damn litter, and then trying to force claim someone into a pack because they pissed you off... it wasn't right. Then to top it off she'd come home smelling of two different males which pissed him off even further. What was she doing hanging around other males? Especially when she had Vereux.

His lip curled in disgust at the thought of the man. He hated his guts and he couldn't fathom what his mother saw in him. Vereux was nothing impressive between his failed healer meeting the first time and then laughing joke the second time. He was missing an eye which spoke for his lack of fighting skills and to top it off he just was annoying. Vereux had even tried sucking up to him to get him to like the blue tinted male but Kharn wasn't having it. Not after neither of them told him anything about the second litter of kids his mother had popped out.

Then there was that entire stupid pack in general. His entire outlook on life had been led astray by living there. At first he'd been excited to be a kid of an Alpha, but no longer. He'd expected prompt training sessions, new members to meet, and exciting new things. Instead he'd found nothing but disappointment. All of the embers there seemed to be a fucking joke and half of the pack seemed like it was made up of kids.

He was happy to be away from it all. The only downside was that he already missed Dragon, but it wasn't like he couldn't go back and see him. He had no intentions of doing it soon so instead he'd traveled somewhere else. He'd had yet to leave the north, but he hadn't realized how much he hadn't explored yet. His travels led him to a mountainous area and upon seeing a giant waterfall he climbed up as high as he could go on one of the paths. The view was breathtaking as he came to a halt at the edge of the path. It gave him a great aerial view of the pool that the waterfall led to and the trees looked so tiny compared to his spot. He wasn't even at the top and yet he felt like king of the world.

It was not home, but it will do.

Black ears listened carefully, picking up the sound of every bird that sang it sweet tunes, and the rustle of the preys that lurked nearby. She was alone, for now anyways. Her long legs stretched forward, carrying her across the rocky land where she would quickly find a waterfall. Golden orbs quickly shifted around, taking in every aspect of what stood in front of her. Her lips remained sealed, but her ears gave away what she felt; amazing by the beauty of the fall. Her gaze tore away from the fall and glanced upward.

The sky was all the same, but the air felt different. Reina was no longer surrounded by the musky scent of wet wolves and blood. It was refreshing, free of taint and tasted far better than she could ever imagine. Reina removed herself from her tribe long ago after the murder of her father; the woman realized it was not a place she belonged after his presence was no longer noticed among the wolves she once called family. The warrior departed from everything she once knew and forced herself to the land of the unknown, giving her experiences she has never acquired on her homeland.

Her tongue dragged across her canines, coating it with fresh saliva as she moved quietly up the mountainous terrain. The water from the fall was clean, her pale nose wiggled as she inhaled deeply, but there was another scent that caught her attention. The scent of a wolf lingered nearby, causing the dark woman to grow tense and proceeded with caution. As she continued her pace, she located the other wolf and paused; a growl bubbled within her throat, but she kept it all in. Her golden orbs watched the male carefully, her ears perked and her tail slowly rising. She did not say anything; it was best not to disturb the wolf.

Reina slowly slinked away from in and continued her walk. She had no business with him, nor will she trouble him with her presence. “Not today.” She mumbled quietly to herself as she moved passed him.

Kharnage sat quietly. Overall the boredom was already beginning to set in which bothered him. He was a loner now. He was allowed to do what he wanted when he wanted. He could sleep as late as he liked or stay up all night if he so desired. He could eat to his hearts content if he caught enough food and he could make his own decisions without having to put a pack in front of himself. Despite all that he was now at a loss of what he was actually supposed to be doing with himself. He thought about climbing back down to go explore some more but after the trek up here he decided it'd be a waste of energy if he didn't at least sit here for a few more minutes.

His distraction came in the form of a wolf. He heard her long before he saw her so his head was already turned towards the path she walked on. His gaze roamed over her eagerly as he looked her up and down. She was shorter than himself though not by much which wasn't all that surprising. She had an interesting marking on her shoulder which immediately captivated him before he looked over the rest of her. She had very similar pelt colors to him, yet she had more markings than himself and golden eyes.

Sadly enough she seemed to ignore him for the most part which was irritating. He'd been expecting some sort of acknowledgement, but in the end it felt a lot like Ivalice all over again. Was he not interesting enough? Or was he not good enough to talk to? Did he give off a certain vibe that pushed others away? It was hard to tell. He was half tempted to just let her go about her day and ignore her until she tried to walk past him. A soft snort left him before he spoke.

"Unless you're a mountain goat you won't be able to climb any higher. There isn't any more paths up that way and I'm pretty sure you're not a goat."

She was caught, and there was nothing she could do about it. Parts of her hoped she would go unnoticed to see what more she could find, but there was something else inside of her that wanted to get caught. Her paw halted midair; her head slowly turned to face the male who spoke out to her. “I can be if I tried hard enough.” She first said, turning her body away from the direction she wanted to go to. If he was right, she would have been sorely disappointed to end her travel for the day. However, the dark woman did not bother investigating what was on top; no this was far more interesting than the silence that accompanied her on her travel.

Like herself, his pelt bore dark pallets that intrigued her. It was almost similar to hers except for the cross on her arm. “I am Reina Ives.” She first said, introducing herself to the stranger first. “Are you native to this land?” She inquired. Because of their shared pelt colors, she had to assume he must come from her homeland. The wolves of her tribes were all dark, some had white or black markings on their body, others did not. It was easy to spot who belonged to the tribe and who did not.

The thought of her tribe made the she-wolf grow uneasy. Her golden orbs stared intensely at him as she waited for a response from him

“I can be if I tried hard enough.”

He found himself chuckling softly. He supposed if she really wanted to (and with a good amount of luck) she could scale the mountain like a goat. He would have hated to see the aftermath of that, but if it's really what she wanted he wasn't going to stop her. She seemed to consider his words though and he noted that she seemed more interested in talking to him now than trying to break her neck. He realized he didn't mind the idea of company either.

She introduced herself and he listened to her question, not interrupting, until she'd finished. He dipped his head slightly to properly greet her although it was anything from overly formal. "I'm Kharnage Ancora." He wasn't quite sure how to answer her second question. The way she worded it made it sound like she wasn't from around here, but what did he know? "I was born here in the north, if that's what you mean." He paused for a moment before adding, "What about you?"

He was still pretty interested about the cross on her shoulder. He'd seen colorful wolves, he'd seen plain ones, and yet he'd never seen a marking like that before. Was that native to her family or was it just a random marking? He met her gaze with the same intensity as he tried to figure her out. She wasn't overly bubbly like some wolves he'd met, and yet she didn't come across as rude or mean either. At least she isn't like Lykos. He grumbled internally.
