Herb Gathering: Boneset

Sìleas stood atop a sloping hill at the head of the meadows. The nippy Autumn air cooled the male, panting from his quick pace. He had decided to come gathering herbs further South that day, deciding to stray from the East which had become his home as of late. He'd seen telltale signs of the herb named Boneset in this area. The low-lying meadow combined with the moist proximity to the sea made prime conditions for the useful herb to grow and so when the chocolate-furred male had spotted this place he had hastens his pace.

Although Sìleas was in Algoma Prarie purely to father herbs, he couldn't deny that it was beautiful. The lush green carpet was barely affected by the dry summer and temperamental autumn weather and was soft underneath his worn paws. After taking in his fill of the sights and the sea beyond, Sìleas lowered his head to the ground, bright mint eyes searching for the little white fever-allieviating flowers.

Flirting around the outskirts of the prairie had been the key plan for the day. Her paws had brought her close to the Phantom border, a marking that lay only in her head. It had been so long now that wind, rain, and time had washed away any evidence that a pack had ever lay here. She was wearing marks in the earth from her pacing, walking from the obsidian beach outskirts to that of the Prairie and back again. She didnt want to enter either territory, they held too many memories, and too little evidence of those times.

She would have stuck to the plan too, if the scent of a stranger hadn't rolled down wind. She paused, poised with her head to the wind, her large body held align and straight as she took in the information in the wind. A male wolf, a loner, perhaps, with a herbal touch to their scent. She felt a spark of anger at a stranger in her home, and qualched the thought immediately. He didn't know.
She decided on a different tact instead, and crossed over her imaginary border, hesitating for only the nearest of moments, her fur rippling as she shook it once, and then she was off. Her large paws swollow the ground between them, slowing when she was close so her appearance would not startle the smaller wolf.
"Hail, stranger!" She called out to ran his attention, strolling within hearing distance of him and continued on, stopping a few feet from where he had been sniffing in the grass in search of something "do you know anything about the history of this land? I'm seeking knowledge of the fate of a pack that resided her some seasons back" She explained herself.

The boneset proved to be elusive as Sìleas searched around. He took slow steps forward, making sure not to miss anything. The plant was known to grow in clumps and could grow quite tall so Sìleas was certain that if it was here, he couldn't miss it. Just as Sìleas lifted his gaze from the ground, his neck and shoulders growing stiff, that he spotted a female approaching. Quite a tall stranger indeed. The wolf had a dark coat with hints of blue, the second wolf he'd met with such a unique colour of coat in so many weeks.

"Hail, stranger!" He heard her call. The female enquired about the pack history of the territory. Moving closer, Sìleas dipped his head in greeting, his face apologetic.

"I'm sorry, miss. I'm a newcomer to these lands and this is my first time visiting this territory or anywhere near it. Can I be of service otherwise?"

The stranger moved closer, dipping his head in greeting, and Ray returned the gesture. She settled down on her hunches and sighed as he answered. She hadn't expected it to be that easy, but it would have been nice to find a bit of luck. “That's alright” she said politely, she wouldn't let her frustration show. It wasn't the strangers fault she was in this situation, and she would not lot let slip her control.

She paused then, and looked back up at him, pulling her eyes from the where they had wondered. “Your a herbalist, correct? A healer? Do you know of another healer, he's earthen colored, similar to your own but a touch more grey, and no white. His name is Terrae Elementas” there was a hint of her younger self in the question, hopeful, but mingled oddly with the jaded adult she had become.
