Old. Nako was certainly starting to come to terms with the meaning of such a word. His little bout of reminiscing at The Range certainly put a perspective as to just home much time had passed from being a pup. And so instead of wandering back to the fjord and his family he decided upon a detour before making his way back home. Now he reminisced as a yearling at Ebony's old lands. A place slightly more familiar than that of being a pup. The lake was beautiful even as he stepped through the bushes and stood upon the snowed covered shores of the frozen waters. Loose snow blew across the smooth surface and made Nako narrowed his eyes as he stoically stood against the breeze.
Maybe there was something to catch and get a good meal before he needed to head back? Worn paws left perfect tracks in the crisp snow as he loped along with his ears on a swivel. The moons glow made thing easier even if the clouds were moving at a decent pace across the sky as even fell and the land began to fall asleep. The shimmering of the shore in the moonlight brought to his attention another wolf sitting on the, gait become less elegant as he came closer to the wolf, female, the snow being stirred and splashing away from his paws as he approached the woman. A hunting partner perhaps?
The white fur on the tips of her ears began to show and the pale russet of her pelt became clearer in the winds coming off the lake. She was revealed, as he kept his distance as soon as she noticed him, to be gorgeous. Quite so as he stopped and let his head rise to inspect her for moment before speaking. "Hello mam. Hope you don't mind me passing by this way and see what you were up to at a time and place such as this." The male had been looking around and it just so happened that she was in his way. "I'm Nako by the way." He gave a curt nod and took a seat with his tail curling around a leg. A good distraction as of late, meat could come later as he awaited conversation with this female should this continue beyond the normal meet and greet of strangers passing by.

Nako settled down where he sat and nodded in affirmation of the woman allowing him to sit by her as they both stared out over the moonlit lake. It was the second lake in a second dead land that he had purposefully come across and another woman was to be met. It was a nice reprieve from his brothers certainly and by far the only way to get news about what was changing in the lands as events and happenings were taught to him. She was away from her den? Was wanderlust also in her heart to get away from pack life? Yes, he smelling it from her pelt. Other wolves and territory radiated from her like the moons glow coming through the withers of her curves. Lyre, the woman named herself as such and the name was tested silently on his tongue.
"Likewise." Nodding politely in turn as he continued to stare out across the ice as she asked what brought him out this way in the world. Lyre seemed a decent sort and he relaxed his posture and turned to look at her. "This land was of my childhood as I became a yearling. Years ago there was a pack here, Ebony, and I for the life of me wish that I knew what happened to make it vanish even though rogue life still holds itself to be more appealing." Nako trailed off as he looked around. It was just like Seracia in terms of Ebony's end. No story to be told of when everyone went away. Just remnants and memories of those who lived and his father that always wanted to be moving. "I'm sure there are some who know somewhere, but I'm taking a bit of a break and walking my path in childhood before responsibilities of family and being a donor father got the better of me." Nako stopped after that and realized that he was talking a bit to much. Or not? It had been far to long, again, since being in a strangers presence. He wasn't any good at these sorts of things, taking to addressing Lyre's own reason for being here as a hind leg came up to scratch behind an ear. "Yourself?" The male asked. "Why's a pack wolf all the way out here?" He settled his paws and scooted a bit closer to the woman in a showing of curiosity.

This woman was from the south, from beyond the land bridge that separated two continents. Nako remembered that his brother and then lover had head down there with the onset of winter and came back up to rejoin the family as mates ready to bear children. He smiled at the thought and would think that his parents would be proud of their second oldest son. Lyre spoke of pack life and his attention returned to listen to the woes and worries that were being vented as eventually her sought out alone time that had brought her here. Nako's ear perked forward as she began a new inquiry, tone far more hushed as a favor was called upon. Where Lyre brought the conversation certainly wasn't what he was expecting, and thoughts began to race as another woman required help with achieving pregnancy. It had been over three years since he had become a father and whatever doubts he'd had long ago had matured away.
Nako looked away from her. She was pretty enough, certainly, and his gaze turned to watch over the lake as she spoke that years of trying had yielded nothing successful he shifted on his paws and that perhaps she would be lucky with him. Nako was quick in his stride to be next to Lyre and licked away the tears before they could fall. He nosed her cheek and let a hum rumble forth from his chest. "I am a lone rogue Lyre. The only consequences are those that I make for myself..." Nako nuzzled harder against the cheek of the woman. "I only hope that the pack I smell on you would be as forgiving should you affirm that this is what you want." There was a certain truth to his words. His father had played a dangerous game once and had gotten himself banished. Lyre would have to dip in the chilly water and wash his scent away if she wanted this but he would set that term in a moment as he helped console this want to be mother.
