Spring was in full swing, and it brightened the world considerably. However, it didn't brighten Dart's world too much these days anymore. He was another year older. Another year alone. Another year wondering if there was any hope of finding someone out there to fall in love with. Bass was his only companion, really. And Dart sometimes found himself quite envious of his friend. Despite his friends relationship trouble, he had a bunch of kids to call his own. And Dart? Well...he had nothing. There were times when he came to accept the fact that he might never find someone. That he might never have kids. That he might never have the chance of raising a family of his own...and it saddened him. He had been so optimistic about it, but now? "Who'd want an old fart like me, anyway?" He groaned to himself, the small canine padding his way towards the river. It was times like these, where he needed to distract himself. And since he loved to fish, that was exactly what he was going to do. It was a daily ritual of his. He loved fish more than any other kind of meat. If he wasn't somewhere goofing around, then he could always be found fishing at the many bodies of water that littered the lands. Fishing was probably one of the only times one might find him serious and truly focused...it was a game of patience, after all.

Slinking along the river bank, the old fox wandered along the edge of the water until he came to his favorite rocky outcrop. Beneath the small overhanging rock, lied a somewhat deep pool that was a little gentler then the rest of the current. Fish often swam into the partially blocked pool to feed on the moss, nearly undisturbed by the stronger currents of the river. He crouched upon the rock, head peeking over the edge as he stared into the water. Crimson eyes found a pair of small catfish digging along the bottom of the pool. Any other day, he would have been delighted to find them! But today? "Even the cat fish have better luck at finding love then I do..." He huffed, head lowering onto his forepaws. That was it. He was officially going to grow old, and die alone.
