The days had been rolling past Derecho like a freight train, something that couldn't be harnessed or held back. She was coming unglued, unhinged, and was a little more unpredictable with her newfound confidence. Derecho was a storm on the horizon, and there was no holding that back. The storm lived in her heart, brewed in her chest. She's the hurricane, the rolling thunder, the most immense and wild thing you ever did dare to see. Lay eyes on her, feast them, because she won't hang around for long. A wildcard, a wanderer. Further and further she snakes across the plains, exploring. Never too far from the den, but today she dares to be out of sight.

To the border of the Serpent Planes, maybe she's exploring. In reality, Derecho has found yet another frog and happens to be chasing it. Honestly, she loves frogs. They're squat and squishy, and they hop more quickly than she does. The best sort of prey when your adult teeth are nowhere near in yet. With the midday summer sun on her shoulders, Derecho dares to be happy.

It had taken him awhile, but Fable finally decided that it was no use moping around pack lands when there was a whole world to explore. With his sister back he had perked back up a little bit, but it was hard to get over the blame for it all. He had been told that he was being foolish, however it wasn't that simple to just brush it off. Standing at the borders of Celestial, his white toes just over the scent marker, he stared off into the great big world. He had only wandered out once and that was with his father at his side. Fable was no longer a child, he was a whole year old and he could do what he wanted, right? So why was this so hard then? Blowing out a large sigh, he grit his teeth together and pushed off, breaking off into a run. His heart pounded in his chest as fear flip flopped in his belly, but there was no going back now. With the wind in his fur he felt a whole new sense of freedom that he hadn't before experienced. The boy's face slowly started to light up, his blue and yellow eyes bright as he broke out into a full on run. A carefree laugh left his inky lips, this was the first time in a long time that he had felt like this.

Fable didn't slow down for awhile, and when he did he of course had no idea where he was. Sniffing around, he trotted this way and that, but nothing really caught his attention. It had been a few hours now since he had left his pack, but he knew that he could find his way home. Well... hopefully. With his ears flickering back slightly at the thought, he fought to not let it ruin his newly risen mood. He licked at his lips, picking his way across a large plain until he could smell another packs borders. Oh, how far had he come? He hadn't really run into another pack around home, but then again it's not like he even got out very often. Fable stopped several feet away from the border, careful not to get too close. He may be young, but he wasn't stupid. Fable knew the laws of the lands and he wasn't about to break them. He had been raised better than that, to be a very obedient young man. The large gray and white boy skirted the edges of the borders, only pausing when he saw a young child making her way to the boundary line. Instantly he perked up, the child looked very young, far too young to be out on their own. It wasn't his place to butt into another packs members, but he was worried. While he hadn't run into any dangers on his way here, he was full grown. Swallowing hard as he fought internally with himself, he finally just made his way towards them.

As he grew closer her scent grew stronger, and it looked like she was very much alone. Peeking behind the pup he couldn't see anyone, and he wasn't about to walk away just in case she got into some trouble. Clearing his throat, Fable made his presence known to her. His tail picked up and wagged behind him, his features open and friendly. "Hey there!" he woofed softly, stopping with at least five feet between them. He was a bit nervous to get any closer, he didn't want anyone to spot him and think that he was going to harm the little one. "I'm Fable! Can you tell me what pack this is?" Might as well start with some small talk, right?

Derecho is tough as nails on the outside. She means that. She means to be that. There's something that lacks a healthy fear of the unknown-- no. It's an unhealthy obsession, and she's going to explore that. Wrap her hands around it and squeeze. There's something overzealous. More than excited. Too excited. She's... wild. Reckless. Reckless because of it. Not like that's a problem. Four other pups, they wouldn't even notice if she disappeared. Not like mom could see her. In Derecho's mind, it's basically an invitation.

She romps toward the stranger, not as big or as grown as Ma and Bass, but not as little as she or her siblings were. An old kid, sure. That's what she'd go with. Old enough to be here, even though he lived somewhere else. When would she be able to go out like that? Derecho burns for things like that. She wants to adventure, she wants to see the world. Being stuck on this side of the fence is so boring. "Oh hi!" Her eyes burn brightly, the blue-silver that was a genetic coinflip-- blindness or not.

"I'm Derecho," her siblings and ma called her Echo, but it seemed silly introducing herself using the nickname they'd given her. In her hours alone, the rolling thunder had practiced saying her name aloud so many times it started to lose shape in her mouth. "Abaven, Bass Destruction is our Primo," right. Bass had taken over as a sort of father figure to the bastard litter, and she was thankful for him. Good to them all. "Where're you from? You don't smell like here." Derecho's head tilts softly to the side, watching the larger creature with great interest.

She didn't at all seem to be startled by him, which was good. He hoped that his larger size never played into others being afraid, he didn't choose to be bigger than most. Inside he was just a gooy mess of a wolf that wanted to feel love, and to have someone to play with. While he would never pull this child from her pack or enter into it, it was fun and exciting to have a whole new personality to mesh with. With pups came endless energy, even though he was only a year old he had grown more and more sober since he was born. But now, well her mood was downright infectious. His tail swung behind him as he dropped his front legs down into a small play bow before rising back up. There was a large smile was plastered on his face, gray and white tail swinging behind him in a steady motion. There was a fire in the girls eyes that was undeniable, her parents probably had their paws full like they had with him.

Dipping his head as she said her name, his blue and yellow eyes rose to sweep over the lands behind her. Abaven, eh? Bass Destruction was a cool name, he wondered if he was a tough guy like his name suggested. It seemed like a nice place to live too, but nothing compared to Celectial. Fable doubted that he would love anywhere like he loved his homeland, and briefly wondered if that was the same for everyone. When Derecho asked where he was from his gaze returned to her, flopping down on his rump to sit on the safe side of the boundary line. "I'm from Celestial! We live in the West." He didn't think he was in the West anymore, it was different here. A little more temperate and cooler than back home. Hopefully he would be able to pick his way back...

Clearing his throat, he looked at the girl again with a tilt of his head. He wasn't used to talking to others outside of the pack, in fact she was the first complete stranger that he had met. Sure, he had met some of his extended family but that didn't really count. How was he supposed to go on here? "Uhh... how do you like it here? Is it fun?" Fable asked after a moment of silence, his tail swinging across the grass behind him. It was exciting how new this felt, it had been awhile since he had been like this!

She's not smart enough to be afraid. It doesn't matter, in her mind-- nothing can touch her. This one bows, so she gestures back, fluffy butt high in the air. There's a wiggle as well, like she does when she's play fighting with her brothers and sisters. Though Fable is a stranger, technically, he doesn't feel weird or threatening. Derecho is open.

"This is the west," Echo grins, tail wagging slightly. "Serpent Plains!" She nods softly, head bobbing. Small, soft, and fluffy. She's all of those things, right now. She bounces briefly around the boundary line, pouncing at the larger child's feet. Playful. Always playful.

"It's okay, I want to go everywhere else though!" Derecho chirps, tail twitching. "What's the rest of the west look like? What's C'estial look like?" She struggles with the word she hasn't heard before, cutting the 'l' from the middle. It's the first time she's screwed one up, at least for now. Echo would cut herself a break. The rolling thunder finds a little pride from not talking like a little kid... but it's hard. The sounds were strange as they flowed together. "I've got a lotta siblings to play with, so it's okay." Her head bobs softly, an afterthought. Today, being on her own was more than okay. She got Fable out of it, after all!

When the younger girl said that this was the west, he blinked in surprise. Was it? He'd never heard of a land called Serpent Plains, but then again he hadn't really been out much. He could have sworn that he left his pack lands and the west behind, but he wasn't about to question her. Briefly he wondered why it was called Serpent Plains, but Fable wasn't really hell bent to figure it out. It didn't sound like it was too fun of a fact to learn. He grinned when she bounded towards his feet, a playful, teasing growl vibrating in his throat. Bowing his mighty body down again he slapped his paws on the grass, his tail high and wagging. It was so refreshing to have a bundle of energy back around him, but now that Justice was home he doubted that his life would be quiet for too much longer.

He tried not to laugh when the girl fumbled on his pack name, he remembered when he fought with words a lot. "I haven't really been to many other places, but it's pretty dry and warm. Lots of sand and the sun feels hotter than it does here," That's why he was so certain that this wasn't the west, but again he didn't bring it up. "But when you're older I can take you there! Maybe I can ask Regulus if you can come look inside!" Fable woofed happily. The big red male wouldn't mind, right? There wouldn't be any harm in exploring? He didn't see a downside to that, plus he would be right there if anything happened. The yearling felt his old energy coming back to life with Derecho around, his tongue hanging out of his maw as a big goofy grin took up his features. He nearly sobered up at the mention of siblings, but didn't let that get him down. Hopefully hers would stick around so they could grow up together, something he didn't really have. He was thankful that Valor was around, and now Justice was back too! It was better than being alone. "What do you guys to for fun around here?" He asked in a casual manner, his rump flopping onto the earth as well. Stretching out his front legs so that they just grazed passed the border, he rolled to his back and dangled his paws over his belly.

She growls back, grinning, barking softly. There's a quick dart over the technical boundary line, giggling. She's so happy, so immensely happy today. Later in life she'd recognize this as something special, something shining and bright in her hands. It's so lovely. She is so lovely today. Today, in contrast, is also... great. A new friend, someone big and strong that can show her how to be the same. She'd be big and strong too.

"That would be so much fun, woah. You'd really do that for me?" Derecho's eyes go wide, sitting back on her haunches with a sort of amazement in her eyes. Her tail wags hard enough to nearly knock her whole body over. He really was a friend. A grade-a dude, as she's realizing. It burns her up with an energy that can't be held back. How wonderful. She's wonderful, today. So wonderful. Echo is beaming.

"Mostly I play with my siblings, sometimes my momma but she doesn't see so well. Bass sometimes too... we've been playing with the snakes, and the frogs, and stuff like that." Derecho lays like Fable has, her feet just over the line. They boop at the boy's much bigger paws, wiggling slightly. "What about you guys? What's your fun stuff?" Her head quirks to the side, eyes bright, dancing with excitement. New people were her favorite people.

Derecho asked if he would really do that, and eagerly he nodded. Of course he would! Why not? He wished that he had had someone to do that for him as a child, but there had been so much going on that they got pushed to the side. The boy was still trying to understand it all, but it would come along with time. Right now it all sat on his shoulders as his fault, because he wasn't good enough. Here with her though, there was none of that weight, He was a lot more carefree then he had felt in ages, even for a wolf so young he felt so burdened at times. He wanted to show her how grateful he was for this, so exploring the lands would be a good start. OF course he would have to meet her parents and her alpha to ask if it was okay, he would never whisk her away without seeking permission first. That would get them both into a lot of trouble, and was far from his intentions. "We can talk to your parents and your alpha to make sure, and then I can ask my alpha too! It will be a lot of fun but we gotta make sure it's okay first. I can come back, or you can howl for me and I can listen!" This was still the west according to her, so he should be able to hear her, right?

When it came to the question of what she did, she mentioned siblings and just a mother. His smile faltered a touch, was her father not around? Oh great, and here he was talking about parents and she only maybe had one. His ears flicked back slightly, he hoped that he didn't offend her. But then she spoke about snakes, which made his yellow and blue eyes grow wide. Woah, they played with snakes? He avoided them at all costs, but here they were seeking them out. "You're really brave!" Fable woofed as he flopped on his back, his tail wagging through the grass under him. He wasn't sure he would ever want to play with a snake. Frogs, sure, but not snakes. Derecho pushed her smaller paws against his and he stretched out his toes, playfully pinching at the underside of her own paws with a laugh. Turning the question on him, he had to pause to think. Nothing was really fun anymore, now that most his siblings were gone and the pack had grown still. "Not much..." he said with a frown, flopping his head over the border just slightly. "It's been quiet so I've been exploring a bit more. I traveled to a whole different land with visit some family, that took almost a week to get to! It was pretty fun. But I like to learn, a lot." He rambled, itching the top of his head in the grass.
