Summer was her new favorite season.

It used to be spring, when she was a pup. She loved the mild weather and the smell of blossoming flowers. But spring stopped being her favorite season when it started being her season. Being a woman was hard enough without the unruly hormones, after all. But summer. Summer was fantastic. It could get a little too hot and dry at times, especially in the west, but Solveiga had come to love it regardless. The sun was like a constant companion, and summer brought with it more thriving plants and their delicious fruit. After coming back to Celestial, she'd been pleased to discover a little blackberry bush not far from the caves in which she slept. Today was another warm and wonderful summer day, and the little woman intended to make the most of it.

She trotted at an easy pace toward the plains, a waxy leaf full of blackberries held gently between her teeth. It was something of a picnic that she had planned for herself. The sun was out and shining away, and Solveiga thought it'd be nice to soak up some of that sunshine while enjoying one of her favorite kinds of berries. Of course, her real favorites were strawberries. But she hadn't been lucky enough to find a patch of them yet this season. Maybe today she could go on a strawberry hunt. But first, she was going to enjoy her picnic.

Solveiga found a nice spot in the sun and laid her bundle of berries down. After a nice little stretch, she laid herself down beside them and leaned down to coax one into her mouth. Her goal would be to make as little of a mess as possible. She knew from experience how easily her soft, sandy fur could get stained. But she tried not to care too much. Today was for relaxing, and enjoying the warmth of summer while it lasted.

It was too hot, and the large male didn't like it one bit. Dragging his paws through the plains, he patrolled the borders for a bit before the gray male started to really struggle. His tongue flopped out of his mouth, this heat was a lot more than he could have expected. The giant yearling hadn't felt warmth like this before, and he couldn't wait for it to go away. Fable felt heavy, like there was a huge weight on his shoulders pushing him towards the earth. It made him sluggish and tired, what the boy wouldn't give for a swim right now. Thinking about going to find a lake, or heck even a darn puddle, he crossed through the plains with slow steps. Ugh, this was not fun at all. Letting out a groan, he crunched the very dead grass under his oversized paws. He wanted winter back with the magical snow that made the whole world cold and nice.

Leaping over a fallen log, Fable landed with a thump. His blue and yellow eyes squinted into the horizon, but it was hard to see past the heat waves that danced in front of his eyes. Honestly, he just wanted to stand right where he landed. With a huff he flopped on his belly, resting his head on his paws for a moment. So what if he was lazy for a day? It wasn't like... he... okay he didn't do much of anything lately. Blowing out a sigh from his nose, he pulled himself up on his paws and took a few more lumbering steps towards the borders. He really needed that swim...

He was about to walk past a rock when out of the corner of his eye he saw that a soft woman was laying on it. Blinking, he slowed down and squinted to make sure he wasn't seeing something. He had never seen her before, that he thought the heat was going crazy. There was most certainly a woman there though! "Oh!" He woofed softly, spinning around to peek at her sheepishly. Has she seen his little lazy flop? Grinning, he dipped his head bashfully as his ears flickered towards his skull slightly. What a good way to make an impression. "Hello miss, I'm Fable Ancora."

Solveiga hummed softly in contentment as she bit into a blackberry and felt its juices spread across her tongue. There was a burst of sweetness, one that brought a smile to her lips as she chewed. It may have been natural for her kind to crave and enjoy meat, but Solveiga honestly preferred the sweetness of these berries to any flavor of meat. They were a rare treat, which perhaps made them even more delicious. She sighed and closed her eyes for a moment, tail swaying through the dry grasses as she soaked up the sun.

And that's when she heard the thump.

Surprised and a little confused, Solveiga opened her eyes and looked around, trying to find what had made such an odd sound. Nearby she saw a young male, and judging by his markings he was one of the children of Creed and Kavdaya. Solveiga couldn't help the way her blue eyes widened, and her lips curled up in amusement at the way he flopped to the ground. But he was so big already! How could that be? Had Solveiga really been gone that long?

The boy stood again and made to walk past her, but it was then that he took notice of her and spun around to grin at her bashfully and give her a greeting. The little healer giggled and sat up a bit to give him a polite bow of her head in return. "Pleasure to meet you, Fable," she said. "I'm Solveiga."

Then, remembering the blackberries at her feet, she gestured at them and smiled at the boy. "Would you care for a blackberry, Fable?"
