After an exceedingly long cold season, well, what had felt like an eternity for Esarosa due to the illness she and her daughter had succumbed to, they were both finally well again. The jet black woman was content to wander the plains, searching for something simple yet satisfying to hunt. It had been much too long since she'd exercised her skills, and today she wanted to get back to one of her many passions. She had always hunted many different types of prey, enjoying the challenge of seeking out and catching something new. Today her desire to find something new and different was overwhelming, and she hoped she would find what she was looking for on the plains. Nose twitching, the female trotted eagerly throughout the plains, catching wind of something fascinating. But what exactly was it? Emerald pools flickered as she scanned the vast horizon. Nothing was in her sights yet, but she was sure if she continued roaming, she'd find it eventually. Determined as always, she bounded along with tail waving, a feeling of youthful excitement overcoming her. The only thing that could brighten her mood further would be someone to join her on this excursion, and perhaps indulge with her in a fabulous meal. "Speak" "Listen" Think

It had been some time since he had seen certain members, and he wasn't sure what to make of it. A couple of them he knew to be sick, so when he spotted a familiar ebony form not too far away, his tail wagged. He made a beeline for her, green eyes watching her bound along with all the youthful energy of...well, someone his age. He let out a bark to let her know of his approach, and soon the earthen male had caught up to her. "Hey Esarosa! Feelin' better? Haven't seen you and Sterling in a while." He wasn't saying it to make her feel bad or anything, he was genuinely concerned for her well-being, and the well-being of every pack member that lived in Talis. They were his responsibility, and he wanted to make sure they were doing well.

Esarosa stopped in her excited steps when she heard a familiar voice call out to her. She whipped around to see Dragon heading toward her, and she smiled in greeting to him, tail swaying in an uneven pattern. "Yes, much better!" she replied with a grin, emerald eyes blinking as the sun beamed down on them, "Both me and Sterling have recovered well. She should be out with her sister somewhere." She turned her head only for a moment, her nose twitching as she caught scent of the prey she'd been tracking. Oh, she couldn't wait to find it and have a fresh meal. She looked back to Dragon. "Anyways, it's good to see you," she said, head tilting, "Are you up for a hunt? I was hoping to snag something big, but if it's just the two of us, we'll have to target something a little easier." There was no sense in the two of them putting themselves at risk to hunt something too big. Maybe the next time she called for a hunt, more members of the pack would come. Today, they'd make due. "Speak" "Listen" Think

A lopsided grin came forward when she greeted him, the male always infected with her jovial attitude. Then again, who wouldn't be? Steel was one lucky guy! Not that he was interested in her that way, but she always seemed to have an upbeat attitude, and he appreciated that in times when things felt like they were weighing heavy on his shoulders. He hoped he could find someone like that someday, someone who could make him happy and in turn, he could do the same. "That's good to hear!" His tail wagged, ears perking as she spoke again. She asked if he was up for a hunt, and of course his excitement about a prospective hunt grew. "A hunt? Sure, I'm down for that! Uh, what did you have in mind? I can call for a couple others to join us if you had something big in mind?" He was sure his mother and maybe one of his siblings would be up for one, after all, it had been a while since a pack hunt had been called. She nodded with a smile in response to his comment on she and Sterling getting well. She was glad to see that he looked eager to participate in a hunt, and he offered to call others in order to aid them in a larger hunt. Of course if Dragon called for the wolves of the pack, they would respond to him more urgently. But Esarosa shook her head - she knew of a creature they could hunt, and it wouldn't take more than the two of them to down this prey. Besides, she didn't feel like waiting on anyone else if they hadn't already come. "There is a flock of peafowl that comes out from the woods near the edge of the plains," she explained to him, "It will be easy enough for us to stalk them when they come to search for food. They aren't the most clever of creatures, and they don't fly well." She'd never gotten the chance to hunt one herself, although she had observed them previously. In the short amount of time she'd been well and out of the den again, she had reacquainted herself with the territory and its creatures so that she would be prepared to lead a hunt. Springing a few feet away from Dragon, she whirled around to face him. "Come on, I'll show you where I last spotted them!" she yipped, then whipped around and bounded off across the flat, grassy lands. In the far distance, part of the Wildberry Groves could be seen in the trees looming ahead. That was where the peafowl flock lived, but they ventured into the plains regularly to forage for seeds and grains that couldn't be found within the trees. She was sure Dragon would follow, and she only slowed down when the scent of the birds entered her nares, at which point she began to lower her posture, readying herself to hide and wait for the flock to make their appearance. She and the Alpha could easily ambush the birds, and snatch up whichever one panicked and made the wrong decision about where to flee.
