Lykos would have enjoyed having a purpose in life other than surviving. He had no idea what to do most of the time - hunt when he was a little hungry, save the food if there's extra, move on and wander after a few days. But there was... no meaning. That'd been stripped away so long ago. He couldn't even find Mercy - though, then again, with his brother unable to find her, he highly doubted he'd be able to find her. Either way, it was frustrating. There was no one left, and he had... no idea where to go from there.

His paws had led him to his old home, where seasons ago Imperium reigned over three lands that were rather bountiful. It was so long ago - and yet felt so soon. It most definitely was... gone, though. Not a trace remained of the formidable pack that none would mess with. It was saddening, really.

She found herself sitting north in her attempts to spread her scent about the world. It was one thing to say it and another to actually do what she was attempting. Plus she needed to check out these buffalo before Pyr brought the family up here and one of them got killed. Amon had yet to be told of the plan for a bloodbath but it would happen all in due time. She was in no hurry, after all she had all the time in the world.

She pressed on until she came to a stop, buffalo causing her to stop. Her tail gave a small wag as she looked upon the hairy beasts of old. They were slowly grazing, unperturbed by her presence. She gave no reason for them to startle, after all why would she cause herself the grief of having to track them down later. She couldn't see through the crowd of beasts but she would see over their rumps just fine. She gave a smirk. Her father was right when he had told her as a child that one day she would be just as large and formidable as the buffalo.

She looked about before noticing another lupine form. He was there about 30 meters to her left. He was tall and broad but his scent as she now noticed wasn't anything like an Abraxas. So he certainly wasn't family then. But he was definitely large enough to be one, or at least a warrior. Perhaps he shared the blood but it was not as strong as her own. She studied him but said nothing. It was up to him to notice her.

Observing the buffalo certainly led to nostalgia. Days of doing that as a pup in Imperium, oblivious to what the future entailed. Ah, well - that was done and over with. And as often as he might wish for the older days to return, for a pack like Imperium to return, he highly doubted it would ever happen. Occasionally, the thought crossed his mind - what if he were to start a pack like that? Bring Imperium back? But then again, were there any wolves left in this land that could even withstand a pack like that? Ha, probably not.

His amused thoughts would definitely have remained, had it not been for a sharp canine nose. Almost on impulse, his nose wrinkled with disgust as he turned his head to look at the source as he soothed the look on his face into one of stoniness. Oh. A female in heat. She was already watching him, it seemed, and the blank look on his face gave no inclination of his thoughts - which, truthfully, was that he didn't care. Did his body react to the heat? Yes. Did he care? Not... really. Would he probably explore such things if the female put herself out there? Eh, probably. But was he going to seek it? No. And he wasn't too interested in seeking company, either.

He looked away again, instead looking back down at the buffalo. If she went away, so be it. If she approached, great.
