The Blood Runs Deep

It was around mid afternoon, and his siblings were either resting with their mother or tussling outside of the den… and Gary was with the group of the former, snuggled up against Vi in the family den. The boy wasn’t tired, but he wasn’t in the mood to prance about in the sunlight alone either. Belua seemed to be asleep, and Gary watched over her as she slumbered, gaze occasionally slipping over to Lyle. They were the two sisters she supposed she felt closest too… but that didn’t mean Dea and Zei weren’t cared for by the male. Being the only other boy he felt it his responsibility to help care for them… especially since Marek was the crown prince.
Gary shifted, his bicolored eyes scanning the rest of the den. He wanted to get closer to his siblings, but which to start with? Lyle he felt it was hard to connect with in some ways… but in others he pitied the smallest of his siblings. Gary shrugged… perhaps, since Marek was outside and not with Zei for once, he could take advantage of this situation and get to pick her brain a little. But he wasn’t very talkative… The boy frowned, getting to his paws. Regardless, he wanted to spend time with her, so he walked outside, spotting Zeivah, and gave a soft bark.
“Sister,” The brute rumbled, focusing his gaze on her. “You busy?” He asked, wanting to make sure he wasn’t interrupting anything important.

The young monster was chewing on a bone that had come from their father's last kill, working her jaws and trying to get at the marrow within. All around her were scattered piles of shattered bones and gristle, and there was a bit of fur by her right paw. Her left ear twisted, the tan shell catching the sound of her other brother's voice. With a small growl, she turned her head to look at him with her bi-colored eyes and regarded him for a moment. For a while, she debated on whether or not to let him interrupt her marrow raid and finally seemed to settle on allowing it. Her oddly masked face became a tad softer, and she gave him an oddly warm smile.
"Not really." Was all she said in response to the question of her being busy. Standing, she turned to face Gary and tilted her head, "What is it?" She asked, wondering why he had come to her. He seemed to prefer the company of the other females rather than her, and this had her interest peaked more than her bones had.
