Well, she couldn't keep them locked away forever. In fact, she was pretty sure she was going to have to let them out just to work on enlarging the den. They were growing so fast that she was certain that they would be taller than her before she knew it. Of course, that wasn't saying too much. She certainly wasn't the tallest wolf around. Not the shortest either of course. She shook her head quietly to herself. Just thinking about all of this just showed how much she was stalling. But... she needed to have a little chat with them first.
She interrupted their playing, saying, "Philly, Ric, listen please! I have something very important to say to you." She waited till they were both sitting in front of her and she smiled a little. They were so good and pure... she really hoped the world would be kind to them. "Now... We're going to go outside - but!" she quickly interjected her "but" before either of them could drown her out with their excitement. "You have to promise me that you'll stay very close to me or daddy. It's very, very important that one of us can always see you. Everyone in the pack will be very happy to see you, I'm sure of it, but there are some mean wolves outside of our pack that probably won't be so happy. I want to make sure both of you stay safe. Understand?"
She waited for a moment till they both agreed and she was sure her message had gotten through before she finally smiled and nodded toward the entrance. "Alright then, lets go." Roza led the way, stepping outside first and giving herself a shake. Abbey flew down and settled on Roza's shoulders with a flutter of her wings. The little bird hopped excitedly across Roza's back as Philomena and Ulric both stepped out into the sun. "Little prince and princess! Hello!" Roza chuckled at her friend's enthusiasm and looked around for Ganta. She was sure he would be near by. He always was.

Ganta had been hunting for his family, though he was in a bit of a hurry to return back to them. Today was going to be a special day-- the day his daughter and son were released into the world for the first time. He didn't doubt that they'd be curious about everything, and he wanted to be there when they first emerged so that he might see them look upon the world. Thus far both children had been very respectful and considerate of Roza's fears of letting them into the world. Patient too. Ganta couldn't have been more proud of all of them, but he knew that the same time they couldn't keep the kids den bound forever. A loping gait was set straight for the den, and, as he neared, he heard Roza's voice explaining to the kids some precautions before they were allowed out. He set down the hare and gave a soft bark, letting his family know he was back before taking a seat. "C'mon kids! The world is awaiting~" As he spoke those words Roza emerged, followed by Ulric and Philomena. They were both so large already... and Ganta couldn't help but shake his head in wonder. Somewhere, he thought, his mother's line must have had titans in them. Titans with long manes.
I'm here without you...

Playtime between Philomena and Ulric was rough, though not because the two were cruel to each other. It was mainly due to their huge sizes, and not yet knowing their own strength… luckily they were a good match for each other. Philly had just caught Ric’s ear in her mouth when their mama interrupted their play. She paused, holding his ear for a moment longer before releasing it and scrambling to sit in front of her mother. Her ears perked, and the girl flicked her head back to shift her mane to one side of her head. The moment she heard outside her eyes lit up, and she didn’t exactly pay much attention after that. She kind of zoned a little, gaze going to the den entrance before nodding her head once the word “understand” was spoken. She didn’t know what she was agreeing to, but it’d be fine, right? Right!
She heard her daddy’s voice and everything else went out the den entrance so to speak. An excited yip, scrambling out of the den to see Abbey coming down to her mama. “Hullo miss Abbey~” Then she was rushing headlong at Ganta, tail wagging a mile a minute. “Daddddddddyyyyy play with ussssssss!” She begged, not that she was really going to give him much of a choice before plowing directly into him. Hopefully Ulric would be right behind her! They weren't going to let daddy get away again~

The wind blows loudest when you've got your eyes closed
The Weeping Woods was proving to be a wealth of herbs! It was almost overwhelming and with the spring in full bloom the young fox was busy ferreting away herbs and improving her stores. She was on the search for Alfalfa today just in case there were any more pups on the way as well as to continue her studies into its effects on arthritis though that could prove difficult. She'd have to ask if there were any elderly wolves in Dragoste but if there wasn't she was sure she could manage if she could find a few elderly prey animals. Often, being a lone creature, she'd had to test her skills on patients that were not her species and often times they were prey. Her nostrils flared as she continued her search pausing when she spied the royal family out for a walk. Smiling she bounded over to them. "Good morning Ganta! This must be Roza and the new little ones, yes? Hello there, I'm Jynette, a new healer."

Ulric tumbled with Philly, growling his puppy growls when he felt his sister tugging at his ear. He was in the middle of trying to pull away when their mother called for their attention which of course stopped their play time immediately. He scrambled over to sit in front of his momma right beside his sister, sitting up on his haunches like a dutiful little student. He was equally excited when he heard that they were going to go outside, but he could tell Philly wasn't really listening to what Roza was saying to them so he tried to pay attention for the both of them. After all, he had to protect his sister, right? He nodded in understanding to his mother's warnings, wondering to himself who might not be happy to see them. Giving up on his wondering, he scrambled up to follow Philomena out into the big, wide world. His tail was wagging so fast behind him, his pale eyes wide as he looked around at all the stuff he had only glimpsed through the den's entrance before. He grinned up at Abbey happily, following after his sister dutifully even as she ran over to their father. He stopped just short of running right into their dad like Philly had, laughing as he watched her. Then he heard a voice behind him and he quickly turned around to see... what was she? He looked at her curiously, giving his parents quick glances for answers. She was speaking like they did and she seemed to know their dad, but she didn't really look like them either. Was she a reeeeeeeally little wolf? That seemed like a good enough explanation for him. He gave the interesting woman a smile and dipped his head low in a polite bow. He had to make sure to be polite like his momma taught him! "Hello!" |
