Lose my Mind

He had been going non stop, refusing to stop. He had to find Argus and bring her home. He had been carefully fallowing her trail from the pack lands and it was taking him east from home. The further he went the more panicked he had become. She was moving so far from home that he was concerned someone had taken her, the panic of what another could do to her was beginning to set in. Several times the male forced himself to pause recollecting his thoughts and to refocus all his attention on his task at hand. If he let himself panic he would lose his focus and lose his chances of finding her. Her scent was much stronger then it had been back home, telling him he was going in the right direction. Most of the way had been traveled fairly easy.
When he hit the edge of this particular territory he stopped dead. It was thick and thorny and looked like a hell of a mess to get through, but her scent was strong, much stronger then moments ago. He had to be getting closer to her. Biting his lip the male's bi-colored eyes looked around for a way in. He wasn't really looking forward to crawling into the thorny bushes, but he had to. She had to be close and if she was he wanted to find her and get her out of this mess. Wincing slightly he crouched down and began to crawl, his body so low to the ground he felt like there was no space between him and the ground.
He grunted each time he got poked, not the most quiet belly crawl, but who would be completely silent getting poked by thorns His nose was still going as he made his way through the briers.

She was far from home but surprisingly she was doing okay. That was more on the part of the mystery smelling creature she had found to be leaving things around. Whether it was on purpose of not was still a mystery to her. She stooped a she smelled another scent marker from the creature. It had become a silent system to her, the scent usually meant to go this way or that there was something this way it was leaving around. She knew it climbed trees and hissed and yowled but she had never encountered such a creature before. Shed had no real contact from it other than its scent markers and the noises she could hear from it. Like it pitied her or something.
She shrugged it off and kept moving forward. She was getting good at following the trails it left for her. As she came to the end of the pungent trail she stooped her head. There her nose touched what could only be some sort of bird. It smelled like a pheasant, a scent she was becoming well acquainted with. Her tail wagged happily, unaware that within earshot was her very worried brother. She lifted her head and to the briers around her gave a shout of thanks to the creature as she had done since the first time."Thanks again creature!" With that she ducked her head and grabbed the fowl. She was quick in turning and ducking through some brambles to reach another clearing. She had her eyes closed the entire time. She had made this a new habit recently. Her eyes served her no purpose anyway so she may as well close them.
Once through the brambles she shook out her pelt and moved to a spot where she could feel sun on her back. It was there she started plucking the bird to eat. She was now in the sight of chasm but didn't know it.

Wincing he continued to move forward through the briers working carefully and finally he came to a small clearing within him, big enough for him to stretch out and pause to pick out the thorns that stuck within him. Her scent was getting much stronger which was vary encouraging to him. He was still worried though, especially with how in the world he would find her in this thick stuff. He was also encouraged that only smaller wolves would be able to move within here, so he still hoped that she hadn't been kidnapped. He wasn't smelling any other wolves nearby so his hopes were getting bigger.
While he was picking out thorns he heard movement up ahead and looked around to try and find where the movement came from. It sounded high like something in the trees, but then a familiar voice shouted from not far ahead of him. It was no doubt Argus and Chasm's tail drummed the ground. Eyes frantically looked around searching for the familiar rainbow patterned wolf, but it was hard to see through the briars. Ducking back into the briars he pushed forward getting poked and pricked more, but he wanted to reach her before she disappeared. Things began to grow more narrow so the male had to close his eyes and mouth, flatten his ears and bunch up the skin on his face to protect his face as he pushed forward, wincing and grunting at being stuck by the thorns.
He reached a bigger clearing and opened his eyes. Looking around searching for her. No sign of her, but her scent was strong so she was just here.
"Argus! Argus it's Chasm where are you?" he called out not sure where to head next to get to her.

She continued to pluck her meal as she heard the creature seeming to move off again. It had become like a routine recently. It hunted, ate, then hunted again and left her something and a trail leading to it, then moved off and went about its business. She didn't worry, it would come back. It was originally the one that had lead her here so it couldn't be abandoning her ever. After all she was a runaway and wasn't about to go back, not if it meant she'd be a burden.
She lifter her head, her ears perking at the sound of a voice. It sounded like chasm. That was strange, considering she didn't figure her brother would have even noticed her leaving. She opened her eyes and turned her head in the direction his voice had come from. Sounded like he was somewhere around where her new creature friend had left her meal. Should be easy for him to find her if he wanted to that bad.
She wasn't even aware of the fact that her new creature friend was going to give her away. That the hairless feline jumped down almost on top of chasm and darted away under the very bramble that she had went under. Though the cat was quick to make its way up a tree on the other side, disappearing once more.
Argus busied herself still with the bird, its feathers now surrounding her chest, she was digging in. Her white mask was being sullied more than it already had been by having no one to worry over her appearance.

No reply came and his heart dropped, eyes widening with sudden worry. Putting his nose down to the ground he started to work around the area looking to sniff out where she had went. It wasn't until the strange looking creature popped out of no where, almost on top of him did his attention snap to the creature. There was no way the creature had been Argus, but he dashed after it, closing his eyes and bunching the skin on his face before diving in where the creature went. He definitely wasn't quiet either. Crashing and cracking until he landed with a heavy thud right at the edge of the clearing that Argus was sitting in, enjoying her meal. He now had several small spots on his body that were bleeding from the stabs of the briers, but it would be much worth it to have Argus back.
Opening his bi-colored eyes he looked around until they landed on the rainbow backed female. At the sight of her he let a big sigh of relief pass his lips. His tail thumping the brush behind him. Pulling himself up he went over to her lightly bumping his nose into her shoulder.
"Argus.... Thank the gods your okay," he said still relieved he had reached her. "What are you doing all the way out here?"
He looked her over making sure she had no wounds on her, she looked fine which was rather surprising. Really though she couldn't have found a better spot to hide from danger.

Her ear flicked to the sound of the briers being abused by a form. Didn't chasm understand that this was her choice? She guessed not if he was here.
As he touched her she did her best to ignore him. That was for the best right? She was a burden on them, it was why her mom babied her and was always upset. She could smell it even though she couldn't see it. She didn't need her eyes she was learning that and was figuring out how powerful her nose truly was.
Chasm's voice brought her head up to his. Her blind eyes for the first time ever looking directly into that of his eyes as if she could truly see. Thank the gods? No, the gods are the ones that did this to my family, they burdened them with me. Her thoughts went unsaid but her eyebrows scrunched with fury at the thought of thanking the gods. They had made her blind, had made her both a male and a female, had made her incapable of truly being capable of anything.
He asked why she was here and she cleared her face before tilting her head to the side. Her ears stayed trained on him. "Go home Chasm, forget me. I won't be a burden on you or mom or Nova anymore. I promise you won't have to worry about me ever again." She was serious, sincere and had her mind made up. It hadn't escaped her how him and Marina had slipped away like they did to talk about what they would do with her.

She ignored his greeting bump and his smile twisted into surprise and confusion. What was wrong? Why was she ignoring him. Instinctively his ears flattened against his skull hoping he hadn't done something wrong. Then her still eyes looked directly towards him and her eyebrows scrunch in fury. He was so confused at her reactions. Was her disappearing something she made happen on purpose? Why would she do such a thing? Why would she up and leave her family?
Then she began to speak confusing him more. Telling him to go home, to not worry about her. He just did not understand it one bit.
"Do you have a fever Argus, because you are not making any sense," he started with a slight worried whine. "Why in the world would you ever think you are a burden?"
Little did she know that the talk him and their mother had was about the brutal reality of how they were created. About their monster of a father who attacked Marina, broke Marina, then force bred her. It had nothing really to do with any of his siblings other then the truth of their creation.

He didn't understand. The whine in his voice almost made her feel bad but she wasn't going to let herself forget that she was nothing more than the sister he had to care for for the rest of her life most likely. She was certain he would rather live without her by her side. Same as Nova. She wasn't even fully a she. She was a freak. It hadn't escaped her how much of a freak she was. Burdening her family wasn't something she was willing to do ever so this was the only option.
Her ears pinned. Did she need to get aggressive? She didn't like the thought of that. "No, I'm just fine." she did her best to stay matter of fact. She wasn't sick in any way. Just trying to do what she thought was best. Did she know she was a raped child? No. If she did she would of left a long time ago so no one had to look at the abomination that shed was and know that she was brought from something horrid.
"I'm blind Chasm, not dumb. You and momma were talking about what to do with me. Cuz I'm a burden. I'm not like everyone else. I have to depend on you and bones to hunt for me, momma to protect me, and I'm not even sure I am a girl cuz i smell like both you and nova do. I'm a freak. A freak that you have to take care of instead of doing things for the pack. Its not fair to you, and your gods certainly made sure it's not fair to me!" she was yelling by the time she was done. Her eyes pricked with tears. She wanted to go home, but she knew she couldn't burden anyone again. Besides she couldn't find her way back if she tried. Was she angry? Yes. Though she didn't know who to be angry with. Was she tired of being the freak? Yes. Was she upset? Yes. So much so that she could feel the moisture on her cheeks from tears she tried to force down. She was different and it wasn't fair. Everyone even treated her differently than the other kids.
Nova was the only one that played with her. She was the runt and everyone treated her like she was porcelain. So what she couldn't play as rough as Azazel or play hide and seek cuz she was blind, but she still knew plenty of games she could play by listening and smelling.
In a sentence she felt alienated in her own family.
