It had been some time since she had been in these lands. Yet, here she was again. Mithras had not returned home. The bastard had not been that stupid, so as to get himself killed by returning to their motherland. He and Faria were completely missing, gone from the face of the world. Many fights had drawn themselves to the behemoth, who bore the scars of war now. Time had not been kind to her, nor had it lightened her disposition. Body littered with abrasions and ropy scars, she returned to the place she had once called home.

The forest was beautiful. The stink of other wolves was faint here. The cool air was heaven upon her tired form. Flopping down gracelessly, she let herself sink into the hard packed snow. This wasn't the season for it to be heavy. Amethyst gaze would slowly shut, as she breathed in the familiar air. The worry that had constantly nagged her, fear of what had happened to her family, was gone now. Apathy lifted that burden from her shoulders, and she couldn't be bothered anymore. It had been too long, and she was tired of being a babysitter.

The picture of vibrant and excessive energy, Iskra made her way through the world strutting about with a swagger that suggested she owned it. All things considered she supposed things were going well. Sure, she hadn't seen Artemis in a while and never actually ended up finding Leto or her parents, buut she had at least been meeting enough new wolves in interesting enough ways to keep her from growing entirely bored. For now.

She was dwarfed by the trees she'd found herself prancing through, and while it was pretty damn cool she was too busy to take much notice right now. Today she was playing a game of trail a random scent and so far it was going well. The trick was to find one that was fresh enough that you might actually catch up to whoever it belonged to. Otherwise they tended to fade until they were impossible to track, or dead end or be so far behind whoever left them that it wasn't worth following cause she'd never catch up. But this was a scent that was so crisp and recent she was positively tickled with herself. Bounding along as the trail only got hotter Iskra almost didn't notice when her quarry came into view.

When the patch of color among the snow appeared she could only stare for a while. Her mind didn't know how to comprehend actually seeing someone who looked like her. Well, not exactly, but still. Sure there'd been Arwen and Ily, who still trailed after her and who Iskra would likely be spending time with later on, but a grown adult, probably closer to her parents age... "Damn," she blurted out the word before she could stop herself, saying it much louder than she meant to. Who was this woman? It wasn't just the galaxy theme that they shared, but those leg markings... Iskra's stomach felt strange and she felt frozen in place all of a sudden, reduced to a mute lump of fur for once in her life.

There was a voice behind her, soft and feminine. Being upwind of whoever it was, the behemoth was left in the dark otherwise. Immense form would twist, thick neck craning over her shoulder to capture the intruder within amethyst gaze. Now, there was a shock. Cosmic pelt trapped fire within its fibres, and swirling patterns traced up her delicate limbs. Now, there was no doubt as to who this was. Before Mithras had disappeared, she had met that little scamp a few times. Not that the child was likely to remember that. With great effort, tired limbs would lift her bulk from the snow. Pivoting to face the young girl, she smiled impishly. She hadn't been present for much of the girl's life, and neither had anyone else.

"You should not curse others." Rough vocals would chide with no hint of humour. The common tongue was still not her speciality, and it seemed as though it might never be. "Do you know me, child?" She would question, curious. Weren't there more of these ones? Yes, two more girls. Mith had borne no sons from his mate. The name of this offspring was missing from her brain, unfortunately.

It wasn't very often that Iskra was rendered speechless. Lucky for her today wasn't the day but it sure had come close, like, the width of a single stand of fur close. Who was this lady? Why did she look like this and unsettle Iskra so? Something about her was different. It was all Iskra could do to raise a single brow at the bit about cursing. Sometimes swearing was the only available option. Oh well, too late to get a comeback rolling so she let it go and worked on getting her brain to function again. Arwen and Ily had been similar to her sure, but this woman was striking a cord within Iskra she hadn't even known existed.

Eyeing the woman, Iskra worked her way from surprised to dumbfounded and was now reaching suspicious. Narrowing her eyes slightly she responded, "No. Why?" Words sharp but thick with curiosity. Then, the edge faded from her words as she slowly added, "Should I?" If this was someone she was supposed to know or have met it was clear Iskra hadn't exactly seen this woman all that recently. That meant it would be when she was little. When she was with her family.

Evidently the girl did not remember her. She looked confused more than anything. "No. Why?" It was almost an accusation. The celestial titan felt her hackles stiffen, prompted by the aggressive response. "Should I?" The child then asked. That was a good question. Should she remember Caia? Hackles would fall flat against her spine again. She shook her head lightly. She tried for a friendly smile. "Probably not. So young, then." She replied gruffly. Indeed, it had been quite some time since the loss of Mithras' pack, and the subsequent dispersal of the family. No doubt the girl hardly remembered what life had been like back then.

"Leto..? Artemis...? Or Iskra?" She questioned, her grasp of English lacking severely. Of course she remembered the names of her nieces. Not to know them would be horrific. The children had been blessings, despite the shock of their conception.

Okay, well, this was interesting. Iskra really didn't know what to do with all this. Thinking about her family hadn't been something she'd done a lot lately except when she reconnected with Artemis, but that had been easy enough to deal with since at least she already knew her sister. This was just. Well, a lot. A lot to think about and understand. There were more family members out there, not just Art and Leto and her parents, but this woman who she didn't even know. Were there more? What else had she been denied when everyone suddenly went separate ways and Iskra found herself on her own? It was enough to make her head spin a bit.

Looking shell-shocked and feeling about ready to take a tumble, the red woman replied, "Iskra." Looking the purple woman over with cautiously searching eyes, she found she didn't even know what to ask. It felt like she should ask something, but nothing came. "This is it, I'm broken, this was all it took and now I am broken." she though dramatically in response to her own inability to function. "Nah, that's weak Iskra, get it together."

"Uhm, what's your name?" It felt weird to be meeting someone for the first time and yet have that person already have met her. This woman knew her, but Iskra didn't know anything about whoever this was. She could hazard a guess at how they were related, but confirmation would be appreciated.

Her niece looked ready to faint. This didn't seem like a child of Mithras, but perhaps she had inherited Faria's gentle disposition. "Iskra." The girl said. Ah, the image was slowly coming together in the titan's mind. Three little rambunctious girls all running around, driving her brother absolutely mad. It had been a sight to see, while it had lasted. A low hum escaped her, and she bobbed her head in a slow nod. "Uhm, what's your name?" The girl asked now, and reminded Caia of her lacking manners.

"Caia." She grunted. "Your father was my brother, and your mother was a close friend of ours." Was added, possibly to lend some clarity to the child. After all, there was a chance she knew little of her family at this point. There was an utmost certainty in her mind that no one had told her of how she came to be, or how her parents had arrived in this land. Would she even dare tell the tale to the child? And let her know of the past that might come crashing down on her head one day?

Wow wow wow, so Iskra really had missed a lot. Between the extended time she'd spent on her own and the fact that she probably hadn't spent a lot of time paying enough attention to the world around her when she was little, Iskra found she just wasn't remembering things. Was she the only one? Leto probably remembered, and if she was being honest, though she did so hate being outnumbered, Artemis would too. Great, Iskra, forgetting your own family. Good job.

Nodding, Iskra committed the name to memory, ensuring she wouldn't end up losing it all over again. Now that would be awkward. Eyeing her aunt carefully, it was clear Iskra was bubbling with questions but unsure where to even begin. Where did one start when catching up on things they ought to already know? Perhaps there was more still that Iskra couldn't know? What secrets did this woman hold, and would she spill? Hesitating, the woman eventually worked up the nerve to ask, "What... what happened? I mean, I remember pieces, but, not enough. Remembering things from the perspective of a child isn't exactly helpful when piecing stuff together..."

The child was seeming strained under the weight of all of this information. A rather wary gaze laid upon her, from the child. A frown would tug at the corners of inky lips. "What... what happened? I mean, I remember pieces, but, not enough. Remembering things from the perspective of a child isn't exactly helpful when piecing stuff together..." The young woman said, looking rather lost. A low hum would rumble forth, a few sage bobs of her head given by way of understanding. Of course, the child had been so young when the pack had been disbanded.

Bulk would shift as she settled her haunches on the ground. A vigorous shake of her ruff would wake her brain enough to recount the tale. A heavy sigh. "We arrived, me and Mithras, in first year. Very lost and very young. Faria joined soon. Settled here, in... South? Ah," This story was shit. Nothing to make anyone feel better about their past, that was for sure. She shook her head a little. The common tongue was so difficult! There was no way of doing the tale justice in this broken dialect. Praying that her brother had done just this one thing right, she asked "did they teach you mother tongue?"

ooc. up to you whether or not she learned Macedonian or not, I just wanted to make Caia fumble like an idiot for a post or two

Listening with a hungry curiosity, she drank in Caia's words like a starving wolf gulped down food. Now that this opportunity presented itself, she had a chance to realize how much she didn't recall and how badly she wanted to learn what she'd missed. Seeing this woman even managed to bring about a few pangs of sadness. Longing. How long had it been since she saw her parents? Way, way too long - she even struggled to remember their faces at times and worried the memories might fade into unrecognizable blurs. Part of her missed them, yet another part found itself caught up in how little she knew of them now. Where were they? Even her sisters had resurfaced by now, but their parents remained just... gone.

At Caia's question Iskra returned to reality, expression turning thoughtful as she went through her memories. Yes, lessons in another language sounded familiar. But that was so long ago, and she hadn't practiced since. At the very least she couldn't speak it without sounding like a moron. Speaking wasn't the important part right now though, she supposed. Nodding, she replied, "Enough that I'd probably be able to understand it. I haven't had a chance to try since I last saw them." Did Leto and Arry remember? Yeah, if Iskra was the one failing at the important memories then they more than likely recalled way more than her. She'd never admit her shortcomings in this area to them, though. Iskra wasn't about to give anyone ammunition to tease her with, no sir.
