Walk | Talk | Think

She had needed to get away. While the festival went on, wolves of all different backgrounds, all different packs, all different personalities, lingered within the boundary of the Firefly Lake, polluting the air with their scents and cluttering the lakeside as they mingled amongst themselves. It was irritating, but who was Callisto to say anything? Katja had already started the commencement of the thing and appeared to be enjoying it - or at least as much as the stony woman could - and she doubted the Drottning would halt the festivities for a single unsocial Skald.

Instead, she had resorted to the next best thing. While everyone traveled into Ebony, she traveled out, sneaking away along their eastern border and venturing into the thicket that bordered their territory. It was more peaceful here, the scents less suffocating and the noise tolerable. Or mostly. The heavy vegetation seemed to have offered a thriving community for the native birds, and they sang and twittered about noisily and oblivious to the dark-colored yearling who traipsed through their home. Her eyes were cast skyward as she moved, attempting uselessly to count them but as they hopped about and took flight, weaving in and out of each other, she could not gather a specific number. Was this preferable to the state of her home presently?

Deciding it was because the birds here would not try to pointlessly converse with her, Callisto continued to meander aimlessly about, her half-lidded gaze seemingly disinterested though her nose twitched at the end of her muzzle, scenting the air as she traveled along. Attuned to many different sorts of plants now, she searched for something familiar, something useful, or something unique, always ready and willing to add something, regardless of whether she was familiar with it or not, to her growing store of plants and herbs back in her den.
