OOC: Quick training spar please! I’d like to get through it pretty quick if at all possible so please only reply if you’re gonna see it through. After her chat with her siblings she walked through the pack’s lands with a renewed fire in her gut. In her mind her mother was gone. Whether she was still here physically or not was irrelivent. Nova was the softer, more emotional one. She could keep the rest of them happy if she wanted to. Their older brother and Bones could be the protectors. They didn’t need her. At least that’s what she told herself. What she didn’t know was where that left her. She didn’t want to deal with their problems and emotions. She didn’t know how to protect them. But she could learn. Her knowledge was something she felt like she could at least control and improve. Everything else in her left felt so out of her grasp that it was nice to have something to focus on. She got to a pretty wide clearing that she thought might be good for fighting and training. Now all she needed is a teacher. She hesitated for a moment before she finally lifted her head and howled for someone, anyone really, that would teach her. She was nervous, but determined. Something had to change and it might as well be her. "Speech"

Dómari set about patrolling the borders as the winter morning dawned bright, clear and unseasonably warm. For a moment it almost felt like spring but a chillier wind drifted down from the north, a gentle reminder that winter still had yet to get into full swing. His wounds were healing well, the gashes on his forehead were still red and sore but they'd closed well and it seemed he'd be lucky enough to get off without any permanent scarring.

The raid had been something of a wake-up call. Celestial was a large pack, he'd never have guessed that they'd be considered a target for something like that but he supposed Talis was also good sized. They were enemies now in his mind. Anxiety had been gnawing at his gut for awhile now as he took to obsessively patrolling the borders. So far though, everything was quiet. There were never any incidents or anything to report.

He'd just finished his circuit when he heard the call of one of the younger members of the pack. He didn't recognize the voice and thankfully the call didn't seem distressed but he moved to answer right away. He arrived to see a brightly colored yearling. "Oh, hello there. I'm Dómari, do you need something?"

She was prepared to wait for a while, but a man that seemed to be a couple of years older than herself showed up really quickly. It threw her off just a little bit since she thought she’d have more time to prepare and think about what she was going to say, but she was quick to pull herself up and puff out her chest confidently. There wasn’t much truth behind that confidence, but that didn’t stop her from trying to look it. She gave him a small, polite nod like she had been taught to when he introduced himself and asked if she needed anything. "Hello, Domari! I’m looking for someone to spar with!” she said with conviction. After a beat of silence she added with a bit more hesitation, "Well, I mean, I wanna learn how to! Will you practice with me?” Adore squared herself up across from Domari and started trying to remember all of the defenses that her mother had gone over with her and all the things she had practiced with her siblings. She did the obvious first, keeping her ears against her head, bending her knees a bit and setting her paws into a sturdy stance. Unsure of what to do with her tail, she ended up tucking it under her while her head lowered a bit so that it was level with her back. She looked to Domari then, silently asking if she was doing okay while preparing herself just incase he went for his first attack. Adore vs Domari for Practice Round: 0/2? Regulus Anatolii Adravendi

However enthralled with his newborn children Regulus might have been, the pack was a great part of his life. So, when he heard Adore’s howl, he gave Solveiga and each pup a lick before heading out to investigate. When he reached Adore, Domari had already arrived, and one look, plus catching Adore’s words at the tail end, told him that at least one of the children was taking the initiative in bettering her skills. That pleased him, certainly. “I’ll stand as your witness. Pay me no mind and focus on learning.” He slipped off to the side, well out of range, and settled to watch, flopping to his belly, forepaws crossed casually before him.

Seabound and Aimless at Best

Dómari returned her polite nod as she stated she was looking for someone to spar with or teach her to spar, however as she set her defenses it seemed clear that she wanted a practice battle. That was fine with him, he wasn't sure how good of a teacher he could be but he could definitely be a decent spar partner. As he moved across from her to leave a good amount of space as Regulus walked in. Dómari felt a touch of nervousness at battling in front of the alpha but he pushed those worries aside and instead focused on what he was doing. He watched as Adore set up her defenses.  He nodded. "Good start Adore, that is a good foundation." He moved to mimic her defenses. His ears pinned to his head, he spread his legs slightly more than shoulder and hips width apart to distribute his weight equally across his limbs. He then bent his limbs to lower his center of gravity and to prep him to move swiftly. He moved his head to level it with his spine, tucking his head as he did so.  

Dómari opted to move his tail so that it was level with his spine. "You can either keep your tail level with your spine or tuck it, it really depends on the situation. Having your tail out makes it easier for you to adjust your balance while you move but it can leave it open to attack. Tucking it is good for close quarters combat or when fighting a smaller opponent that might go for your underside. If I may I have a few more suggestions. You've got your head tucked which is good, now try rolling your shoulders forward and scrunching your neck back." Dómari rolled his own shoulders forward, neck scrunching back to demonstrate. "This will push your fur and flesh over your neck to help protect your throat and the veins and arteries there. You know how your fur stands on end sometimes when you're nervous or on edge? Let that happen, the more fur you put between your opponents teeth and your skin the better." He let his hackles raise to demonstrate. "One more thing, go ahead and spread your toes, dig your claws into the earth. This will help given you better traction, especially as winter moves in and terrain becomes more treacherous." Once again Dómari demonstrated as he spread his toes, claws biting into the earth.

"Do you wish to go first or shall I?" He didn't feel right just attacking her and wanted to be sure what she wanted to get out of the fight. Did she want to practice making the first move or did she want to practice responding to attacks?

ooc: SO SORRY Life attacked me and I didn't get to reply. Lets do a fighting lesson/unjudged spar. We can both get some points that way. A little anxious energy and nerves crept in when Regulus showed up to watch, but she just did her best to ignore him. Now she had to focus on not making a fool of herself in front of him. Adore felt a little better once Domari gave her some praise and started to get into his own defenses as well. She watched how he set up his defenses and tried to mimic him as closely as possible. The more she focused on the task at hand the easier it was to keep her mind in the moment rather than letting it worry over outside things. She lifted her ears from her head so she could hear him more easily while he explained what to do with her tail. It felt like a lightbulb moment and she settled her tail so that it was flat with her spine for now. Still acting as his mimic, Adore rolled her shoulders forward, feeling how the skin bunched up around her neck. With her fur spiked up to match his she looked like a bumpy, rainbow fluff ball, but she didn't realize it since she was so concerned with making sure she was doing it right. For once she was grateful for her slightly oversized paws as she spread her toes to follow Domari's instructions and dug her claws into the dirt. At least her feet were big enough to give her some traction. Her brows lifted a bit at his question and she realized that this was where the spar part came in. She lowered her ears back against her head and made sure all of her defenses were still set, including the once he had just taught her. She was nervous to start out the fight herself, but when would she possibly get a chance to impress Regulus if not now? Maybe he would like that she took the initiative? That's what she hoped anyway. "I'll go." She took a deep breath and narrowed her eyes before she decided to just go for it. She sized him up while she tried to decide what the best thing to do would be since he was a good bit bigger than herself. Adore hurried toward him, realizing that her claws being dug in helped her push off the ground faster. Once she was close enough she tried to move so that he was a little to the right of herself so that their right shoulders would hit each other. Her shoulder blade would probably line up more with the lower part of his shoulder or maybe the top of his leg if she was able to hit him, but she figured that was the idea of it anyway. She didn't want to bite him since it was just practice, so she tried to just reach with her jaws toward the place on his side immediately behind his right foreleg and just tried to nip at the fur there to show where she would have bitten him if this was a real fight. Dómari held his defenses and nodded as Adore moved to set hers. He smiled. "Good!" She decided she wanted to go first and her tensed, waiting for the attack. Adore kicked off and raced toward him and he resisted the urge to nod in response. She was moving rapidly and already seemed to know to use her speed against him. That was good, she was thinking about what would give her the best advantage. Adore shifted to her left to line up their right shoulders but Dómari would quickly step to his left so that her right shoulder would ultimately miss it's target and instead just graze the outside of his lower right shoulder. He wasn't quite as lucky at avoiding her jaws though as her neck had a greater reach. Her fangs would just nip his right side, just behind his right foreleg.

While she had the advantage of speed he had the advantage of weight and tried to use that to his advantage. Dómari shifted his weight evenly to his back legs as his tail splayed out for balance, his back claws biting into the earth as he reared up and twisted his upper body to his right with the intent of wrapping his arms around Adore's neck. He sought to wrap his right foreleg under the base of her neck near her chest while he sought to throw his left forearm over the top of her neck, just in front of her shoulders with most of it wrapping around the right side. He hoped to use his weight to push her down. Simultaneously his jaws shot forward seeking to grab hold of her scruff where her head met her neck. He didn't intend to draw blood but merely wanted to get a grip from which he could control the movement of her head. If he succeeded he wanted to know how she would handle that situation. He guessed from her nip she didn't want there to be to much significant injury in this and he tried to keep that in mind. He and his siblings had always played rough. Keeping his ears pinned tightly to his head he tensed his abdomen to help his balance, his hackles still raised.

ooc: WOW I SUCK Thank you for being so patient <3 As Domari shifted away from her, she felt her shoulder just barely graze his as she passed him so obviously that attack didn't work out quite as planned. She tried to make up for it by reaching more with her neck so that she could still land that nip at his side. Even if it wasn't a full blown, damaging attack it was still something and she was proud of it. She had slowed down when her shoulder brushed his and without realizing it stopping there had left her completely within his reach. Before she noticed what was happening, she caught his movement out of the corner of her eye and felt his forelegs around her neck. She had a brief moment of panic and she wasn't sure what to do so she did the only thing she could think of. She pulled back as quickly as she could in an attempt to slip out from under the foreleg that was draped over the back of her neck. She made herself as small as possible, pulling her head back and scrunching her neck down toward her shoulders and bending her legs to drop down closer to the ground. She slipped away from the hold on her neck, but she didn't completely escape his jaws. She felt his teeth scrape against the base of her skull, just missing the scruff that he was aiming for. The sting told her that she would have some moderate scratches left behind, but she was fine with that. You couldn't even really tell through her vibrant red fur on her head anyway. She took a couple of quick steps back and took a brief second to regroup and reset her defenses. She kept a slight bend in her legs and spread her toes with her claws digging into the soil. Her shoulders remained rolled forward while her neck leveled back out to lay flat with her spine and her scruff stayed bunched up to protect it. Her tail was level with her spine to help with her balance whenever she started her next attack. She also kept her eyes squinted and her ears folded back against her head. Her lips pulled back in a snarl as she moved back toward him for her next attack. Now that she was in it she was beginning to wonder why she had waited so long to really try fighting. It was a challenge and it was really fun. Since she was already situated closer to the ground, she took advantage of this lower position to reach forward with her jaws open in hopes of grabbing his right foreleg. She didn't want to bite down hard necessarily, she just wanted to hold his leg between her teeth so that she could try to pull that leg and knock him off balance. She wanted to jerk his leg out from under him. Adore tried to use that same forward motion to headbutt him in the side, right behind his foreleg, with the hopes that combined with her first move might make him fall over completely. ooc:  to be honest I removed it from my list  xD However, if you're down lets finish it since its only one more post! To get points we'll need a clear outcome. Is it alright if Adore is the one to submit since she's the youngest and least experienced?

Seabound and Aimless at Best

Dómari's arms embraced Adore's neck as he tried to hold fast but she was to quick. She ducked low and backed out of his grip. Because she moved back his teeth would miss her scruff and instead connect with her skull but not in a way that would give him a grip. He swiftly regrounded his limbs, his weight spreading evenly across them. His hackles remained raised, his ears pinned and his claws digging into the earth as he scrunched his neck back and rolled his shoulders forward. As she stepped back he shifted his weight to his hind legs and raised is forelegs as she dove forward, causing her jaws to miss his right foreleg though he wasn't quite fast enough as her fangs tore light lacerations into his right wrist.

Dómari attempted to throw his arms over Adore again, intent on using his weight to pin her down. He sought to wrap his right foreleg over Adore's back just behind the shoulder blades and his left foreleg around her right side. In addition he attempted to throw his weight into his chest to let his weight drop on top of her in the hopes that he could pin her. He followed up this attack by twisting his head to his right and angling his head down as he attempted to bite the exact middle of her spine, not a powerful hold but enough to let her know where she'd have been bitten in a real fight.
