YOUNG DUMB & BROKE

It was so warm and humid down here. The young fae had been snoozing on and off, with no plan in mind. Forelimbs folded neatly over one another, her jaw rested comfortably atop them. Her hind legs were thrown casually out to the side. The soft moss on the ground was so comfortable, so plush. She sighed contentedly. A soft hum, tuneless and meant only to listen to, was uttered. Eyes shut, she found herself simply listening to the echo of her humming through the cavernous room.

Finding this place had been fantastic, really. Nothing better. All the roots coming out of the ceiling and parts of the walls were great for scratching awkwardly placed itches. The water in the little pools was stagnant, if she went to the wrong one. Not that it was a big deal, she wasn't exactly dying of thirst at this point. What could possibly make this better? She could only imagine, and hope.

Since she didn't exactly know what to do with herself lately, Maple just sort of took to wandering around aimlessly hoping eventually some sort of direction for her life would just... appear. Yeah, it wasn't exactly working out so far but she was doing her best. She hadn't really made any friends yet so she had no one to seek out to talk to or hang out with. Maybe she'd consider joining a pack eventually, but for now she was content to just kind of meander around. Despite her previous negative experiences with underground places, something  made her decide it was a good idea to wander down here to see what was what. 'Maple, you're an idiot. You never learn.'

Maybe it paid to be a moron, cause down here the temperature was a heck of a lot more pleasant. SHe may never leave! Padding slowly through the room, Maple peered around curiously. It took her a bit to notice the golden woman nearby, reclined and enjoying the place she'd previously had to herself. As soon as Maple laid eyed on the woman she froze, unsure of what to do. Should she go say hi? Or, should she go somewhere else? What did she say? Had she waited too long to talk? Oh, gosh, why did she have to overthink everything?!

YOUNG DUMB & BROKE

Pawsteps, rhythmic as the drip drop of the water falling from the ceiling. She was so comfortable, so mellow, that she couldn't even be bothered. Her humming tapered off into a soft sigh. Any more comfy, and she would fall asleep. Oooh, a nap. That sounded awesome. She shifted a little, easing her forelimbs out from beneath herself. They sprawled out to the side with her hind limbs, and she settled her cheek on the moss. ”Oooh yeah,” She heaved. ”that's the stuff.” Yeah, nap time.

Wait. No. The pawsteps had stopped. Aww, but she was comfy now! Cracking open one eye, she almost instantly located a pale wolf. Small, like she was. With a pretty auburn face. Oh wow. Oh boy. Pretty girl. Lurching into a vaguely vertical position, she tried to arrange herself in a less lazy, loafish way. She lounged much like a sphynx, and grinned as charming as she could. ”Aren't you a breath of fresh air,” She said by way of greeting. Hah! Take that! She wasn't an idiot.. all the time. The last pretty girl had been a fluke. Star babes weren't something she'd ever seen before, and she had been caught off guard.

Maple watched the girl relaxing for another moment, standing there awkwardly with her tail hanging limp and half of a leap stuck to the base of it, not that she was aware of it. Then the girl seemed to stir and she thought she had bee noticed, but then she settled back and for a moment Maple was relieved. Her reprieve from wondering what in the hell to do was short lived, cause then the girl really did notice her and Maple almost panicked and ran back out of the room she was so startled, actually going so far as to jump slightly when the girl moved to look at her.

Mouth hanging agape, and leafy orange-brown brow spots raising skyward Maple stood rooted to the spot as the other woman spoke and- wh-what did she say? She was totally caught off guard by that comment, and found herself blushing profusely, heat rising to her cheeks and her stomach feeling all jumbled up as she struggled to respond. "I, uh, I'm not anything all that special, I..." Wow, Maple, what was that? Awkward and bad, that's what you loser dork. She didn't exactly know how to react to a girl flirting with her, or anyone flirting with her really, but she could at least do better than THIS, right? Probably not, we're talking about Maple after all.

Standing there awkwardly like a lost little sheep, Maple struggled for something to say. "Uhm, I'm Maple," she finally said lamely.

YOUNG DUMB & BROKE

Score one for Daisy. Struck dumb, the other girl could only gape and sputter. "I, uh, I'm not anything all that special, I..." Oh no, no honey! Internally horrified, she tried to maintain her cool facade. Surely this girl could see how special was, and how gorgeous? Slowly, she would rise into a sitting pose. Scrutinizing the other girl, she wondered if she was being serious. Perhaps she had just been caught off guard too? Like she had been, when the woman with the sky in her pelt had flirted so expertly with her.

"Uhm, I'm Maple," Nope, that was a very confused, flabbergasted introduction. Oh boy. Cue rescue. Slowly, as though approaching a frightened child, she rose to her feet. No lounging today, this was serious. Maple was in need of affection, obviously. Positive attention. A cocksure grin would slide easily onto her face. ”Well, Maple,” she drawled, sauntering a little closer. Time to go in for the kill.”my name's Daisy, and I think you're one of the prettiest little things I've ever seen.” A tiny wink, tossed out like roses to a matador. ”Anyone who thinks otherwise is either blind or a liar.” It was honest, despite the method of delivery.

The girl stood and Maple found that she was actually slightly taller than Maple. Great, was no one this short? Was she just stunted and cursed to be the littlest? That would suck. Life goal; find someone as short or shorter than her. It was important.

Then she came closer and Maple's attempt at getting her shit together was smashed to pieces right before her eyes. What was that? The girl introduced herself, but Maple almost missed it as she stewed in her awkwardness and tried to comprehend that the girl was walking closer and closer and giving her attention and Maple didn't know what to do! Send help! Woman down! "Oh, er, th-that's nice of you to say. Uhm, you're really pretty too," she ventured, daring to try and throw a compliment back and see what happened. She'd be hard pressed to say she wasn't a little curious about this girl's advances. Just a little bit. Maple never really got hit on by anybody, girls or boys so this was new territory.

YOUNG DUMB & BROKE

ooc. me? forget about characters? definitely not

The sweet little thing was the very image of shock and awe. Hell yeah. The damsel had almost forgotten what this felt like. Her charming grin stayed firmly in place, praying that she could keep it up. "Oh, er, th-that's nice of you to say. Uhm, you're really pretty too," This was it, she had found the cutest girl in the world. Awkward, but polite. Amazing. If her grin could get any wider, it did. ”Why thank you, Maple. You're just a doll, aren't ya?” Alright, this was starting to get theatrical, she was laying it on so thick. Tone it down, or she might die.

”Isn't this place neato?” She cast a long look around the cavern, admiring the splendour. All the little pools, and the glittery way the dim light caught in the dew on the moss that covered the place. ”The ground is so soft, good for tired paws, huh?” She shifted from foot to foot to demonstrate, marigold eyes watching the moss spring slowly back up after each step. Her tortured feet were loving this place. With a broad grin, she glanced back up at Maple. Surely she had to see how cool this was too, right?

Was it, like, possible for your cheeks to blush so hard they fell off? Cause if so Maple's were in danger. The sunny lady's advances were, well, unexpected. Flattering, though, she had to admit. Deciding to let it boost her ego a little, Maple offered a tentative grin, warm brown eyes twinkling merrily as she forced herself to relax and not let her introverted self destroy her ability to enjoy some company. "Doll sized, maybe," she quipped.

Following Daisy's gaze, Maple surveyed the cavern with renewed interest. It really was pretty, all the water and the relatively warm and comfortable environment. It was sort of... cozy, she supposed. "It is super cool, I'll give ya that." Glancing at the moss as Dasiy stepped around on it, Maple followed suit and pranced circles on the squishy substance, giggling as she bounced around like a fool. Prancing a few feet away, she turned and picked up a loose piece of moss. Spinning back around, she attempted to toss it at Daisy, laughing, "Yeah, I think I like this stuff."

Dropping into a bow, she eyed Daisy, ready to leap to one side or the other if the other girl retaliated.

YOUNG DUMB & BROKE

Oh, there it was. A tiny grin, but it threatened to grow if she kept this up. What a smile, it would be. "Doll sized, maybe," she mumbled. You know what, better to let that one go. After all, she'd probably spend her entire life being annoyed by her stature. Who was she to deny such notions to anyone else? In regards to the cavern all around them, Maple said "It is super cool, I'll give ya that."

Watching her prance and frolic across the soft, squishy moss made her heart flutter with glee. Yes, someone who would act like an idiot with her! She wriggled, just a little, with excitement. Glancing at her toes, she tried to commit this moment to memory. Who knew when she'd get to have fun like this again?

Whap! Something struck her, right in the ass! Whirling around with a shocked look on her face, she saw Maple- the only culprit. On the ground by her hind feet, the weapon of choice. A moss ball. The soft,
bell-like laugh of her attacker echoed through the cavern. "Yeah, I think I like this stuff." The smaller girl announced with a shit eating grin. Oh, it was on! Maple dropped down into a play bow, ready for the game to commence.

Lunging for the moss ball, she seized only some of it in her jaws. Tipping her head to the side, she flung it back in Maple's direction. No way was she getting her ass kicked, not today!

Maple beamed at the girl, looking pretty pleased with herself as her moss ball hit it's mark with a satisfying smack as it hit the other woman's sunny gold fur. The smile turned impish as Daisy turned to look at her with a momentarily shocked look. Yeah, that's right, Maple could be all fun and goofy if she wanted to!

Shrieking with a half-scream, half-laugh, Maple tried to leap to the side but still got swatted in the chest with the moss ball, half of it sticking to her pale fur. Scooping up more, she shouted, "This means war!" before flinging the squishy green ball back at Daisy, and following up with several more for good measure in case she missed. Laughing like an idiot she would leap into one of the small pools of water, aiming to splash some of the water in Daisy's direction.
