Ridin' on the Slip'nSlide [Exodus]
Regulus Anatolii Adravendi |
He’d finished his patrol long before daylight touched the sky, and he’d sought out a muddy area by a stream, smiling to himself as he turned about, nodding as he decided that this would be a good place to hold a lesson, today.
He tossed back his head and gave a low howl, calling for both Exodus and Aurielle to come to him. No doubt his daughter would be quick to come out, and he knew Exodus was always swift to respond, so he didn’t think he’d be waiting long, but while he did, he waded into the stream and began kicking water up onto the shore, purposefully making the conditions muddier and slicker.
Exodus was more advanced than Aurielle, so today would be a lesson where she would observe as he worked with Xodus. Since the boy had missed out on Gwenevere’s fighting lesson, Regulus would give him his lessons in fighting in slippery, uncertain footing.
The sun struck through the sky with the first rays of dawn light as he waded back to shore and stood, waiting with a grin.

Aurielle Adravendi |
She’d been on the verge of waking when her father’s semi-distance voice woke her fully. Alright, so maybe she was already scrambling out of the alcove before she was fully awake, because she bumped into the side of the cave mouth as she raced for the exit, eliciting a muffled ‘Ooch!’ that caused Paladin’s head to poke out of his alcove, bleary eyes blinking before he shook his head and retreated back to sleep.
The young future, now fully awake and sporting a smarting nose, continued her headlong charge down the ravine, Aelloshir bounding after her like a big, cat-shaped shadow with a grumpy rumble, his own nap having been interrupted.
Aurielle paid him no mind, instead following her ears toward where she thought her father might have called, until she slowed down to think it over more and tipped her head up to sniff at the air, searching the breeze for a hint, eyes closed. Oh! There he was.
She grinned to herself and took off at a lope, head high to monitor the scent on the breeze for her sire until she pranced to the shore, highly pleased with herself for tracking him down. Aelloshir grumbled his way to a large rock and leaped to drape his inky form over the stone, inwardly lamenting the lack of heat in it, since the sun hadn’t risen high enough to be hot enough to heat it.
“Da, what’s the lesson today?” Had she not been told by Paladin about his brother Exodus, she would have asked who it was Regulus had been calling with her, but as it was, she waited with a little wriggle of excitement as she studied the mud and sticks and creek stones at her father’s paws.
She well and truly had begun to fill out, lanky legs and big paws suggesting at her adult form, but the fur along the whole of her scruff had certainly well surpassed the natural length of her coat, waves and curls growing in locks from between her ears to the base of her shoulders. Her tail, too, bore the long hair, and currently, that fur was rapidly getting caked in mud as it smacked the ground.

At first glance, Aurielle's coat is pure white.. Her fur has an iridescent quality (like moonstones) where the fur shimmers different colors under various angles of light: in this case, the colors shown by rainbow moonstones. Not one hair on her hide is a solid unnatural color, but, ya know, it's really hard to convey that in still art :P
Aurielle's English is heavily laden with an Irish, Swedish mixed accent.
Her family is allowed to crash all her threads, Private and Open.
As of Autumn Year 14, Aurielle glows with a bright blue-white bio-luminescence in her fur, and bears a marking over her left eye - see profile and reference.
When he arrived at the muddy stream bed, he saw Aurielle there greeting her dad, and he looked over her fascinating coat. It was both long and shimmering, unblemished and truly unique. He chuckled to himself as he wondered how Regulus had managed to produce such a purely coloured child, as the male surely did stand out amongst his surroundings with his bright red coat. But then, perhaps that was precisely why his daughter had left the womb with her own unique flare.
The young male approached Regulus, dipping his head in greeting. "Good morning," his voice was still somewhat rough from having just awoken. He turned his head, the green stripes under his eyes standing out against his mostly dark coat, as he faced Aurielle. He offered the girl a friendly smile. "I'm Exodus Ancora," he murmured, dipping his head to her as well, "Good to finally meet you." He was curious to see what the girl had already learned so far, not to mention he wondered what Reg had planned for them at the break of dawn.

He grinned as the pale, shimmering form of his daughter raced into sight, the shadowy frame of her companion following with a distinctly sleepy and disgruntled expression on his feline features. He nodded at her excited question, a silent gesture to wait, and as Exodus arrived, Regulus smiled easily, letting them make their introductions before he chuckled.
“Good morning, you two. To answer your question, Aurielle, today, Exodus will be learning to fight in the mud, and you will be watching to learn.”
He turned to Exodus, addressing him directly as he said, “While you were on leave, Gwenevere held a fight training lesson for the pack on this subject – uncertain footing – so I figured you’d like to catch up.” He grinned, glancing to the side as Aurielle padded a little ways off and sat to watch and listen, ears perked.
“Firstly, let me see your defenses, all the ones you know and remember.” He smiled encouragingly, settling into his own adjusted stance, claws flexed to sink into the mud for traction.
