Morning light filtered through the roots of the fallen tree Leto had moved her pups to. This was the third den in the last two weeks she had moved her pups to, with another half-dozen in the weeks before that. Two of the pups were growing at a ridiculously prodigious rate, and the increasingly frazzled Leto was feeling more and more crowded with the three of them constantly around her, and she was at the point that a new den for a "change of scenery" just wasn't going to work any longer.

She was going to go very noisily crazy if she spent one more day cooped up with these creatures.

It didnt help her frayed temper that this new den apparently faced at just the right angle to shine early morning sun right in her eyes no matter how she faced when she went to sleep. So with the sun making it quite clear that morning had once again come way too early after yet another night of desperately trying to get rambunctious pups to go the fuck to sleep, Leto decided she had had quite enough.

"All right, you little fuckers," she snapped, poking at her slumbering offspring. Damn them for actually managing to look adorable and innocent when they actually slept. She heaved herself up onto paws that were already protesting at the idea of chasing them around, but surely it would be r than dealing with one more day of bored, overexcited puppies cramped in one den? She shuddered, then pushed her way out of the roots that hid the den entrance, calling over her shoulder, "Move your asses or I'm leaving you behind."

Hey, it wasn't her fault she liked the night so much! In her opinion (which wasn't worth very much), it was very much her mom's fault. Why wouldn't her mom be active at night? Night was so much fun! But now - uuugh. She didn't want to be awake. She didn't want to see the daylight. It needed to go away - that instant. It was gross, and bright, and ew. And she didn't want to move around again; they kept moving and moving and it wasn't any fun just walking all day. It was very, very boring and she was not a fan.

In fact, she was a fan of trying to climb a tree again and making mom try to fetch her, but with the threat accompanying the get up, it probably wouldn't be the best idea. Lyra wouldn't put it past her mother to actually follow through on that threat.

That being said, it didn't stop her from emitting a long, low whine of protest as she stretched, sharpened claws digging at the ground. "But mooooom," she pleaded. "Just a little while longer here? It's nice here." Okay, maybe it wasn't the nicest. Too bright, but the sights were pretty and she didn't want to move again.

Aquila blinked open lavender eyes as their mother's voice jarred the pleasant quiet, followed quickly by being more physically jarred as his larger sister moved to follow her. Quil squished back obligingly to let her have room to get out before following himself. The most brightly colored of the siblings, he was nonetheless not the most unusual of them considering their mothers' own coloration, not when both Lyra and Ares bore interesting fangs and claws that set them apart from the rest of their bloodline and were fast approaching a height far beyond that of their mother and Aquila. Aquila didn't mind at all that they were showier, nor that they were more demanding of their mother. He was content to simply follow along behind the larger two littermates.

Except today, because Ares didn't seem to be moving fast enough and as much as Aquila was willing to oblige his siblings, he wasn't willing to disappoint their mother and get left behind. "Wake up please, Ares, Mama wants us," he whispered, tapping a paw on his brother's shoulder so he wouldn't get left behind either, then once Lyra had made her way out, the smallest Aeris pup squirmed out of the den and trotted over to join Mama and Lyra. Despite her threat, Mama didn't seem to be inclined to leave yet, but Aquila still sat up straight, keeping his eyes fixed on her to impress upon her his earnestness so she wouldn't leave him behind. "Where are we going, Mama?" he inquired seriously.

Early to bed, early to rise the saying went. Well, not for Ares. He had slept late, and was reluctant to get up. Even when their mother told them to, he tried his hardest to get a few more minutes in until his brother woke him. As much as he wanted to stay and sleep, he knew he should get up before his mother really did leave him behind. Groggily lifting his head, he yawned and sleepily watched his siblings following their mother out. Slowly getting up, he stretched a bit before following them out, the boy stopping beside his brother and leaning against him.

Shaking his head, he listened as Aquila asked their mother where they were going. He squinted against the bright light, groaning with displeasure at having to immediately come out into the blinding light. Oh well, he was up and already outside...He doubted he would get to return to the den and sleep a little more. He didn't say anything like his siblings had, he was still trying to wake up. If there was one thing about him that could be said, he definitely wasn't a morning person.
