Have you ever seen the sun drown?

The waves seemed to never stop their constant splashing, sand being pulled into the depths of the sea only to be pushed back onto the beach once more. Several different types of Seagulls flew around the perimeter of the shore, shells being turned over as the birds searched for beached shell fish, seeking their next meal. The white beaches seemed to stretch on for miles, as the tricolored female stepped on the warm earth her tail swished behind her quietly. She was a creature of poise, someone that had an intense curiosity for the world and how things worked. Baelfire's ears pricked quickly as she heard a soft gasping a few feet away, there laid a small turtle whom was gasping for his last breath. Her tail tucked in a moment of sadness, there was no saving the little thing for it was far too gone. After the turtle was deceased she walked off towards the eastern edge of the beach, her nose worked tiredlessly taking in all the scents surrounding the beach and ocean. It was an intoxicating combination; the foreign fruits mixed with the salt water was like nothing else.

The massive creature was on another adventure, this time his adventures took him a lot further from the island than he normally went alone. Atlas didn't like leaving the others unattended - or without a way to get to the mainland - for too long. Today he just really couldn't stop himself though, the call to adventure had him trekking a ways south. He had partially avoided the borders of a wolf pack on his way, but eventually skirted through a small section of their land to make the trip less roundabout. The rules of their kind weren't his, so as long as he didn't become a target the bull was happy to traipse through places they occupied.
When he reached the bay, Atlas stopped, munching on a mouthfull of long, tough grass he pulled from the area where the sand only just began. It wasn't that great, a little more dry than he liked, so it was easy enough to abandon the snacking in favor of some more wandering towards the waves.
He cut an imposing figure, with his antlers all pristine and his largely unmatched height. When he spotted the wolf, he chuffed a greeting. "Good day to wander, isn't it?"

Jumping a bit at the sound of the voice behind her, Baelfire's body spun quickly as to locate the parading noise that had seemed to be released well above her. She wasn't very tall at all, certainly being on the smaller side of things; When she was met with a large moose who's antlers were larger than all of her paws together her heart practically fell to the ground, she couldn't save herself if he became violent. She knew nothing of these creatures, although from his tone he didn't sound like he had wolf blood on the brain. Her cream tail twitched nervously behind her before she let out a light hearted laugh, black ears rolling forwards as a defensive maneuver, she caught herself looking for anything she could if she needed to run. "Why yes it is, I can say, I've never seen something like you around here? I'm Baelfire."
She wasn't sure how he would react to a wolf, nor if he was here to cause a problem. Keeping as much of a calm demeanor as she could possibly muster, she soon backed up a few feet in order to give the large hooved animal some space. Despite their clear differences she somewhat hoped she could befriend this large herbivore, what an interesting friendship that would be. It would also be a good back up for a gritty situation if the moment presented itself. Maybe he was singled out because of his markings, perhaps he just needed a friend. As she pondered these things, her mind raced constantly

Still chewing lazily on what remained of the mouthfull of long, overly tough grass the Moose found himself amused by the much smaller wolf's reaction. Atlas was hardly the type to attack unprovoked, but he did find comfort in the fact that his size alone usually meant predators would think twice before messing with him at least so long as they lacked backup. It was wise of them to think that way, he could appreciate that much. The antlers also tended to help, though they were hardly his main weapons.
He chuckled and shrugged, "Me neither. I think my kind prefer more northern lands, although we aren't too uncommon in the east." He watched the small - or at least small compared to him - predator squirm a bit until he began to meander down the shoreline, splash through the waves a bit as he wandered slowly. "I'm Atlas, it's good to meet you Baelfire."
He returned to the beach, weaving through the rocks at an easy pace, head low to the ground as he inspected the area carefully. He paused at a tide-pool, peering in at the little sea creatures that busied themselves in the small pool of water, unperturbed by his presence. A sea anemone waved it's little tentacle-looking appendages with the motion of the water. Glancing back towards Baelfire, Atlas asked, "What brings you this way, anything in particular?"
