The boy had gotten away from the den, his restlessness often getting the better of him. Bi-colored eyes watching the water before him pool up as it fell from the cliff face above. He was curious about the world, but often times his anger and desire to see the world in red would take away the beauty of it. He would step towards the pool, looking down into the clear aqua pool and watching the little minnows and other small creatures swimming about within. What would it be like to have a simple life like that? Was his dad relaxing somewhere back home? Why were they brought here? "I miss da..." He would whisper to himself. The crashing of the waterfall was loud, the mist landing gently upon his fur as if each hair had its own little water droplet. He shook his pelt, the spray flew in all directions. Then he would seat himself as he continued to stare at the things in the water, wondering what they were.

The runt of the litter wasn't one to explore very often. Her family knew that, and she had not spoken one word since birth making her a mute in their eyes. While her brother had been the runt he had grown fast, sarka was going nowhere with her body and height. Still just a tiny fluff ball, she was scared to do most things. Content on her own tending to the sunflower near the den. But no the tiny girl had followed her brother azael out of the den, she was worried for him just like she did with the rest of the family. She also craved for his company, after all sarka depended on her brothers and her mother for nearly everything. Sarka felt horrible for that, but her body just wouldn't do what she told it sometimes.
Her brother spoke near the body of water, before so sarka had been thinking about the ways he could drown bristling her fur with fear. After though she would remind herself, she too missed dad. But was too shy to admit it. Sarka let a whine escaped her small jaws stepping forward next to her brother trying to get close to him, but avoided fur contact even if she longed for it. ?I miss dad too azael.? she mused. Her voice was almost hard to catch very soft and clear. It was her voice though, would her brother be mad at her? She had tried to do as she was told. She just wanted everyone to be happy.
?I speak?

It would be the sound of his sister as she approached that pulled him from lingering thoughts. Azael would turn to see her standing beside him, for the first time since they were born into the world, he would hear her voice. He would gaze at her, astounded that he would be the first she spoke to. She was always so shy and quiet, and the thought that she chose to talk to him first made his heart elate into a feeling of happiness. The usually angry boy would turn soft, if only for this moment, and reach out to her. His muzzle found her small frame, a feeling of protectiveness overwhelming him as he pressed against her small body. He gave her a lick on her cheek, tail wagging slightly as he looked in understanding. As young as they were, they still held feelings and thoughts of their own. And the feeling was mutual, it seemed. For the pair missed their father.

"It's nice to see you, Sarka. I thought I was the only one that missed daddy...momma doesn't talk about him. What do you think happened?" He wanted to know so badly where their father had gotten. Even more so why they had come here. He wanted to go back to his old den. Wanted to return to the place they called home. He knew that perhaps, that's where his father was. Would Sarka want to go with him to look? The thought hadn't crossed his mind until now, and he wondered. Mismatched gaze stared at the pool of water, the boy not close enough to fall in, but close enough to see below it's depths. He swallowed back the thought, but it was too good to pass up. "Sissy, do you wanna go look for dad?" He turned to look at her again, his gaze serious.
