Navigation: Caves of The Past |Round|1|2|3

He pushed through the whipping wind and snow, his eyes narrowed and his head lowered. Eura clung desperately to his back, piling under as much of his fur as she could, her small body shivering desperately as snow falling off the gale continued to pile onto her.

Rogdar raised his head slightly, peering through the pelting snow at a small discoloration of darkness. It could have been a cave, but it just as easily could have been an unusually dark rock that only appeared to be sanctuary. With few other options however he decided to take the gamble and pressed through the snow, heading toward the small smudge of darkness.

He nearly collapsed after he stepped into the considerably warmer shelter, a soft chuckle escaping him as the wind whistled furiously behind him, as if begrudging the loss of a plaything. Eura jumped down from his fur and shook out her soaked fur as her companion did the same. He looked around the cave briefly and into the pitch darkness beyond the stalagmites. There was a smell to it; something distant but entirely unknown to him, an oily scent and distantly of burned trees after a forest fire. Where exactly was he?

She was lost. She'd gotten separated from her family soon after the blizzard hit, and since her coat was so pale...her family had a hard time finding her. She was getting battered by the snow, her near-sightedness a curse in a time like this. She had been unable to see them through the driving wind and snow, and in her confusion, had wandered a different way. She narrowed her eyes as best she could with her head down as she tried to keep the snow from blinding her, but it was hard. Her view was incredibly limited, and her world was completely white. Her ears pressed against her skull as tightly as possible as the wind howled around her, whipping her fur every direction it could and threatened to throw her off her feet, even with her size. She didn't know which direction she was going anymore, whether she was still heading int he direction of the pines where her family was going or if she was now going the opposite way.

Her heart hammered in her chest as she struggled in the storm, feet stumbling as the winds seemed to grow stronger. She couldn't keep going like this, could she? Surely her family would have tried to find shelter? I should try to do the same... Shivering now, she could feel the snow penetrating through her thick coat and she knew she had to find shelter, and fast. But where? She could barely see a few inches past her nose! Desperate, the albino woman tilted her head back and howled, hoping that maybe her mother or one of her other family members were close enough to hear her. Her howl was cut short, however, as a strong gust of wind and snow drover her off her feet and into the snow that thickened around her. She lied there, curling in on herself as she decided then, to try and wait it out.
